컴팩트형 공간구조가 대중교통수단의 이용활성화에 보다 효과적인가? (Is Compact Urban Spatial Structure Effective for Public Transportation Mode?)

  • 본 연구는 도시공간구조와 통행행태 및 접근성 분석을 통하여 어떠한 형태의 도시구조가 대중교통의 활성화에 보다 적합한지를 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 분석대상도시는 한국과 일본의 도시를 대상으로 하였으며 지구(district) 수준에까지 분석의 범위를 좁힘으로써 연구결과의 적용성을 높이고자 하였다. 비교분석구조로서 각 나라 및 도시에서 각각 컴팩트형도시 및 분산형도시, 고밀지구 및 저밀지구를 설정하였고, 통행행태분석은 로짓모형을 이용하였다. 또한 접근성지표(CAI)를 이용하여 주거공간분포에 따른 대중교통에의 접근성을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 고밀도시 및 지구의 거주자가 보다 짧은 통근거리를 나타냈다. 둘째, 통근통행에 있어서 저밀지구의 거주자들이 훨씬 더 높은 자가용승용차의 이용율을 보이는 나타났다 셋째, 고밀도시에서 자가용승용차의 시간 및 비용에 대중교통의 교차탄력성이 저밀도시보다 큰 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 접근성지표(CAI)의 분석결과, 대중교통으로의 접근성은 단순한 주거밀도보다는 밀도의 공간분포와 더 깊은 관련성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

남자 대학생의 주거형태별 생활습관, 영양지식, 식습관 및 식행동 (A Study on Lifestyles, Dietary Habits, Nutrition Knowledge and Dietary behaviors of Male University Students According to Residence Type)

  • For the purposes of participation in research projects, living in a laboratory has become popular among male university students who tend to have less opportunity for nutrition education and overestimate their own health, suggesting possibilities of many undesirable practices of lifestyle and dietary habits. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate and compare health-related lifestyle practices, dietary habits, nutrition knowledge, food preference and dietary behaviors of the male university students according to residence type. The subjects were 260 (34, 15, 44, and 167, respectively for lab-living, self-boarding, dormitory and commuting) male engineering majors in the Gyeonggi area. Self-administered questionnaires consisted of general characteristics, health-related lifestyle practices, dietary habits, fast food consumption, nutrition knowledge, preference for foods and tastes, and self-examination of dietary behaviors. Lab-living subjects showed many undesirable practices, particularly with more smokers (p < 0.05), irregular eating (p < 0.01), overeating (p < 0.05) and skipping breakfast (p < 0.01), compared to the dormitory students and more time in computer/TV usage (p < 0.05), overeating (p < 0.05), more frequent use of fast-food (p < 0.05), less nutrition knowledge (p < 0.01) and less intake of milk/dairy products (p < 0.01) and fruits (p < 0.01), compared to commuting subjects. More smokers (p < 0.05) and irregular (p < 0.01) and unrelaxed meal times (p < 0.05), compared to the dormitory group, and less intake of fruits (p < 0.01) and dietary fiber (p < 0.01), compared to the commuting group were shown as undesirable practices of the self-boarding group. Therefore, continuous effort should be made to correct undesirable health- and diet-related practices found in this study in order to improve nutritional status as well as general health by developing a nutrition education program and contents of lectures focusing on more specific problems according to each subgroup such as lab-living and self-boarding male university students.

생애주기별 통근통행시간 영향요인 분석: 경기도를 중심으로 (Study on Commuting Travel Time devided by Life Cycle: In Gyeonggi-Do Case)

  • 본 연구는 통근자를 생애주기별로 구분하여 하루 동안 발생하는 통행시간에 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 통행시간이란, 통행사슬(Trip chain)개념을 적용하여 통근자가 집에서 출발하여 귀가할 때까지 하루 동안 일어나는 활동을 위해 이동하는데 소요된 시간의 합을 의미한다. 통근자의 생애주기는 가구주의 연령, 가족구성원의 유형을 근거로 미혼청년기, 가족형성기, 자녀교육기, 자녀청년기, 자녀독립기, 노년기의 6단계로 구분하였다. 생애주기별 통행특성은 통행시간, 사이클 수, 스톱수를 볼 때 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 콕스비례해저드 모델을 적용하여 통행시간에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과, 일부요인들은 생애주기별 통행시간에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 실증적인 연구로써 경기도를 대상으로 하였으며, 자료는 2010년 가구통행실태조사 자료를 이용하였다.

  • 자전거시설의 공급에도 자전거이용자가 시설이용을 기피하거나 다른 루트를 이용하여 주행하는 이유는 시설이 자전거이용자의 선호를 충분히 고려하지 않았기 때문이다. 본 연구의 목적은 자전거이용활성화정책의 주요 대상이 되는 통근시간대 자전거이용자의 통행특성과 경로선택에 영향을 미치는 요소를 분석함으로써 자전거도로의 계획 및 설계에 필요한 시사점을 도출하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 SP조사기법을 이용하여 이용자의 선호를 조사하고, 링크레벨 및 경로레벨요소로 구성된 로짓 모형을 도출하였다. 결론적으로, 본 연구에서 검토된 9개 요소가 모두 자전거도로의 루트선택에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히, 보조간선도로, 분리형자전거차로를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 차선만으로 설계할 경우에는 분리공간(buffer zone)을 설치하여야 하며, 자전거차로를 설치할 경우에는 자동차의 속도를 50km/시 이하로 제한할 필요가 있다.

Economic Impacts of Transportation Investment on Regional Growth: Evidence from a Computable General Equilibrium Model on Japan's Cross-Prefectural-Border Region

  • This paper proposes and examines the economic impact of infrastructure improvement on the San-En-Nanshin region in the Chubu area of Japan. We develop a single transportation computable general equilibrium (CGE) model for each subregion within the San-En-Nanshin region. The explicit modeling of the transportation infrastructure is defined based on interregional commuting flows and business trips, considering the spatial structure of the San-En-Nanshin economy. A CGE model is integrated with an interregional transportation network model to enhance the framework's potential for understanding the infrastructure's role in regional development. To evaluate the economic impact of transportation improvement, we analyze the interrelationship between travel time savings and regional output and income. The economic impact analysis under the CGE framework reveals how transportation facilities and systems affect firm and household behavior and therefore induce changes in the production and consumption of commodities and transportation services. The proposed theoretical model was tested by using data from the 2005 IO tables of each subregion and the 2006 transport flow dataset issued by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism in Japan. As a result, the paper confirms the positive effect of transportation investment on the total output and income of the studied region. Specifically, we found that while economic benefits typically appear in urban areas, rural areas can still potentially benefit from transportation improvement projects.

스마트폰 애플리케이션 불만족 수준에 따른 소비자 불평행동의도에 관한 연구: 불만처리과정 및 귀인성향의 조절효과를 중점으로 (A Study on Consumer Complaint Behavior Caused by Dissatisfaction with the Service of Smartphone Applications: The Moderating Effect of a Complaint Handling Process and Consumer's Attribution)

  • The use of smartphones has grown rapidly over a short period of time, particularly for commuting news search, smart banking, and social networking services, and has had a significant impact on the pattern of contemporary life. Further, a wide range of applications are downloaded on to smartphones. This has also led a considerable number of complaints regarding these applications. In this study, we focus on the levels of dissatisfaction that users experience with smartphone applications and their effects on consumer complaint behavior along with the moderating effects of the complaint handling process and attribution. The aim of this study is to verify whether the following hypothesis--2 (low/high dissatisfaction level of smartphone applications)${\times}2$ (poor/excellent complaint handling process)${\times}2$ (internal/external consumer attribution)--is in accordance with the betweengroup design to build a factorial design experiment. The results of this study are as follows. First, the consumer's tendency to complain significantly influenced their dissatisfaction level. Second, consumer complaint behavior is modulated by the complaint handling process. Third, the external-attribution tendency of consumers was found to lead to more dissatisfaction than the tendency for internal attribution.

KTX 통근권역의 통행행태 분석 (Travel Behavior Analysis of KTX Commuter Belt)

  • 교통계획을 수립하는 계획가들은 그동안 출퇴근 교통수단의 전환을 촉진하는 정책적 노력을 지속적으로 추진해왔다. 본 논문은 경부축 고속철도 등장이후 지역간 통행체계의 변화된 통근행태를 분석해보고자 하였다. 연구에 사용된 데이터는 코레일의 2004년$\sim$2008년 간의 자료이다. KTX 정기권 이용자의 등장으로 인해 그동안의 정성적인 추정이 아닌 계량적인 분석을 통해 통근권 변화에 대해서 거리대, 시간대, 운임수준 및 기종점 통행패턴에 대해 분석하였으며, KTX로 인해 통근거리는 길어졌지만 통행시간 감소로 인한 편익을 인식하게 되면서 정기권 이용자의 통근권역이 확장되었음을 나타낸다.

수도권 지하철 7호선 주요역 통근통행특성 분석 연구 (Travel Behavior Analysis using Origin-Destination Data for the Subway Line No.7)

  • Recent data development has made it possible to analyze each individual's daily commuting by using transportation card transaction. This research utilizes about 1 million observations from the subway line no.7 of Seoul metropolitan transportation data. By using such a massive dataset, the authors try to identify daily travel behavior of morning commute and its possible relationship between subway usage and socio-economic factors. There are 4 main types of users and their travel behavior, and top 15 stations with the most users for arrival and departure are selected. Accordingly, 15 stations have distinctive characteristics including population density and the number of businesses around stations. To identify this fact, the 4 most populated stations are selected and their socio-economic factors are examined. According to the analysis, the most departure stations are generally surrounded by hihgly populated residential areas, whereas the most arrival stations are stood within the job concentrated districts.

Variable Suspension Design for Active Pantograph

  • There are a lot of traffic jams in the metropolitan area and the commuting time has been longer nowadays. So the urban people has been interested in the GTX(Great Train Express) project in Korea. The GTX is the train which runs at 200km/h speed in underground tunnels. If the train also operates at high speed in tunnel section, the pressure wave will happen and the uplift force of pantograph may vary abruptly. If the rigid trolley bar system is used in tunnel section, it is difficult to improve the commercial speed of train. In order to improve the train speed in tunnel section, this paper presents the new pantograph concepts which can change the suspension stiffness and deals with the dynamic behavior characteristics of pantograph according to the parameter variation.

Employee Trip Reduction in Southern California : First Year Results

  • Trip reduction policies are increasingly utilized in U. S metropolitan areas to address congestion and air quality problems. These policies typically focus on the journey to work and are aimed at reducing the amount of drive-alone commuting by providing transit and ridesharing incentrives. Severe air quality problems in Southern California have prompted the air polluation control agency for theLos Angeles metropolitan area to enact Regulation XV. The regulation requres employers to develop and implement a trip reduction program to achieve specified ridesharing goals. It si the most ambitious and far reaching such program implemented to date, and offers a unique opportunity to determine whether such programs can significntly affect travel behavior . This paper presents results from the first year of Regulation XV's implementation.
