기억 향상 요소를 강화한 노인 집단 자서전 쓰기 프로그램의 효과 (The Effects of a Memoir Writing Program for the Elderly Using Cognitive Enhancement Techniques)

  • 인생회고는 자기 삶을 돌아보고 평가하는 것으로 노년기에 삶의 의미를 찾는 데 필요한 과정이고, 이러한 인생회고를 효과적으로 할 수 있는 한 가지 방법이 자기 일생의 사적(史跡)을 기록하는 자서전 쓰기다. 본 연구에서는 인생의 주요 주제를 중심으로 자서전 내용을 구성하여, 자전적 기억의 점화 및 인출 지지를 통해 글쓰기를 실행하고, 원고의 편집 및 교정작업을 거쳐 프로그램 종결 시 자신의 완성된 자서전을 받을 수 있도록 프로그램을 개발하여 그 효과를 검증해 보았다. 60세 이상 노인 14명을 대상으로 15회기에 걸쳐 프로그램을 실시하였고 사전 사후검사 결과, 자아 통합감, 생활 만족도, 삶의 질이 향상되고 우울감은 저하되는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 집단 자서전 쓰기 프로그램이 노인의 안녕감 증진에 매우 유용하다는 것을 시사한다. 논의에서 연구 결과의 함의를 비롯하여 본 연구의 의의, 한계점, 후속 연구에 대해 기술하였다.

Prediction of pollution loads in the Geum River upstream using the recurrent neural network algorithm

  • The purpose of this study was to predict the water quality using the RNN (recurrent neutral network) and LSTM (long short-term memory). These are advanced forms of machine learning algorithms that are better suited for time series learning compared to artificial neural networks; however, they have not been investigated before for water quality prediction. Three water quality indexes, the BOD (biochemical oxygen demand), COD (chemical oxygen demand), and SS (suspended solids) are predicted by the RNN and LSTM. TensorFlow, an open source library developed by Google, was used to implement the machine learning algorithm. The Okcheon observation point in the Geum River basin in the Republic of Korea was selected as the target point for the prediction of the water quality. Ten years of daily observed meteorological (daily temperature and daily wind speed) and hydrological (water level and flow discharge) data were used as the inputs, and irregularly observed water quality (BOD, COD, and SS) data were used as the learning materials. The irregularly observed water quality data were converted into daily data with the linear interpolation method. The water quality after one day was predicted by the machine learning algorithm, and it was found that a water quality prediction is possible with high accuracy compared to existing physical modeling results in the prediction of the BOD, COD, and SS, which are very non-linear. The sequence length and iteration were changed to compare the performances of the algorithms.

일본 커뮤니티 시네마를 활용한 도시재생 사례 연구 - 후카야 시네마(深谷シネマ)를 중심으로 - (A case study on Urban Regeneration utilizing Community Cinema from Japan: Focused on Fukaya Cinema)

  • 멀티플렉스의 보급이 대중들의 영화향유권 확장과 영화산업 발전에 기여한 것은 사실이다. 그러나 도시 담론적 측면에서 볼 때 신도심을 중심으로 들어선 멀티플렉스는 구도심의 공동화 현상을 야기하고 있다. 특히 구도심 상권의 침체로 인해 지역민들의 '삶의 기억'이 저장된 상징적인 문화예술 공간인 지역극장마저 사라지고 있는 점은 안타까운 일이 아닐 수 없다. 일찍이 일본에서는 창조적 도시재생의 주요 수단으로 영화·영상콘텐츠에 주목하여 다양한 활동을 전개하고 있다. 그중에서도 '커뮤니티 시네마(Community Cinema)'는 지역극장의 부활을 통해 지역사회의 영화상영 환경을 개선하고, 나아가 관련 문화와 산업을 창출하여 지역 활성화에 이바지하고 있다. 본고에서는 지역민의 자생적인 NPO(Non-Profit Organization) 단체로 출발하여 지역 TMO(Town Management Organization)와의 협업 속에서 지역의 폐 산업시설을 마을 영화관으로 재활용한 '후카야 시네마(深谷シネマ)'에 주목하고자 한다. '커뮤니티 비즈니스(Community Business)' 형태로 운영되는 후카야 시네마는 지역 커뮤니티의 문화예술 거점시설로서 영화·영상콘텐츠를 활용한 도시재생의 가능성을 보여준 매우 의미 있는 사례로 평가받고 있다. 따라서 후카야 시네마의 구체적인 설립과정과 활동내용을 살펴보고, 그 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 이를 통해 영화·영상콘텐츠를 활용한 도시재생의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

심리학으로 바라본 항공교통관제사 인지능력 (A Review of Cognitive Aspects of Air Traffic Controllers from a Psychological Perspective)

  • Aviation safety issues have drawn much attention from the international community due to the growing demand for air travel. Although it is a widely accepted fact that human-related factors are closely linked to aviation safety, there is lack of understanding what roles those factors play in aviation, in the field of air traffic control in particular. It has been reported that the role of air traffic controllers significantly affects air safety. This review will discuss cognitive aspects of expertise in air traffic control including time perception, working memory, reasoning, perception, attention, scanning/vigilance, decision making, and planning with examples of how each aspect can be dealt with in performing air traffic control duties. The relevant studies in psychology have also been briefly reviewed in the interest of enhancing understanding of characteristics of air traffic control tasks and the related human factors. This review concludes with a call for more in-depth research into cognitive factors in air traffic control.

타이치운동 프로그램이 지역사회 거주 노인의 신체기능, 인지기능 및 삶의 질에 미치는 효과: 인지기능을 중심으로-예비조사 연구 (Effect of the Tai Chi Exercise Program on Physical Function, Cognitive Function, and Quality of Life among Older Adults in the Community: A Preliminary Study)

  • Purpose: To assess the feasibility, safety, and preliminary estimates of effectiveness of Tai Chi on the functional outcomes of older adults in the community. Methods: This was a mixed-method study that employed a single-group repeated measure design and in-depth interviews. Nine older adults were recruited from the community were recruited to participate in a Tai Chi program, conducted twice weekly for 6 months. Research outcomes included physical function, cognitive function, and quality of life, measured at intervals of 3 and 6 months. Findings: Tai Chi exercises were gradually conducted based on the health status of the older adults. All participants actively participated in the program with an average attendance of 90%. Consequently, the participants showed significant improvements in mobility and their memory recall ability at both 3 and 6 months. Additionally, the results of the Stroop test exhibited improvement 3 months after the commencement of the study program. Quality of life of the participants improved according to the mild cognitive impairment questionnaire, but it did not show significant improvement in health-related quality of life. Conclusion: The Tai Chi exercise program was a safe and, feasible program to improve the physical function, cognitive function, quality of life among the older adults in the community.

지역사회 경도인지장애 노인을 대상으로 한 전산화 인지 치료가 인지기능 및 수단적 일상생활활동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Computerized Cognitive Therapy for the Elderly with Mild Cognitive Impairment in the Community on Cognitive Function and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living for Wellness)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지역사회에 거주하고 있는 경도인지장애를 보이는 노인을 대상으로 한 컴퓨터 기반의 인지재활프로그램의 적용이 인지기능과 도구적 일상생활수행능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고는 것이다. MCI 노인 22명을 실험군 11명, 대조군 11명으로 무작위 할당하여 진행하였으며, 총 10주간, 주 3회, 회기당 30분씩 실험군은 CoTras, 대조군은 전통적 인지 재활을 받았다. 중재 전후로 인지기능과 수단적 일상생활활동의 수행 능력애 대한 변화를 알아보기 위해 NCSE와 K-IADL을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 실험군은 집중력과 기억력을 포함한 전반적인 인지기능과 수단적 일상생활활동의 수행능력의 향상을 보였다. 지역사회 경도인지장애 노인들을 대상으로 인지기능과 수단적 일상생활활동의 수행능력 증진을 위해 CoTras의 적용을 고려해 볼 수 있을 것이다.

화북 다목적댐 조경계획 (A Landscape Planning of Multi-purpose Dam in Hwabuk)

  • The Korea Water Resources Corporation(KOWACO) proposed bidding for an alternative design for Hwabuk Multi-purpose Dam in March of 2004. The site is located in Hakseong-ri, Goro-myeon, Gunwi-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do and has adrainage area of $87.52km^2$. The purpose of this project is to establish an environmentally friendly plan for minimizing the damage that was caused by the construction of the Hwabuk Multi-purpose Dam. The design principle of KOWACO was the restoration of the natural environment, a harmonious landscape, and the creation of a space of regional and local culture. The basic concept of this project involves an ecological-restoration axis and a functional-connection axis. The site is divided into four spaces: (1) the space of memory and symbol, (2) the space of nature and ecology, (3) the space of regional and local culture, and (4) the space of the regional economy. There are four sub-spaces in the space of memory and symbol: the track forest, the time forest, the memory room, and the sun plaza. There are three sub-spaces in the space of nature and ecology: the habitat of aquatic birds, the wind forest, and the eco-corridor. There are five themed parks in the space of regional and local culture: the culture and relic room, the wildflower garden, the ecological pond, the insect observation park, and the pyogo maze. There are three areas in the space of the regional economy: the forest pension, the waterside pension, and the community center, as Dungdungi village was reorganized to serve as a lodging complex. These themed parks, working together, can offer an effective space for nature, culture, rest, and experience.

Prediction of the DO concentration using the machine learning algorithm: case study in Oncheoncheon, Republic of Korea

  • The machine learning algorithm has been widely used in water-related fields such as water resources, water management, hydrology, atmospheric science, water quality, water level prediction, weather forecasting, water discharge prediction, water quality forecasting, etc. However, water quality prediction studies based on the machine learning algorithm are limited compared to other water-related applications because of the limited water quality data. Most of the previous water quality prediction studies have predicted monthly water quality, which is useful information but not enough from a practical aspect. In this study, we predicted the dissolved oxygen (DO) using recurrent neural network with long short-term memory model recurrent neural network long-short term memory (RNN-LSTM) algorithms with hourly- and daily-datasets. Bugok Bridge in Oncheoncheon, located in Busan, where the data was collected in real time, was selected as the target for the DO prediction. The 10-month (temperature, wind speed, and relative humidity) data were used as time prediction inputs, and the 5-year (temperature, wind speed, relative humidity, and rainfall) data were used as the daily forecast inputs. Missing data were filled by linear interpolation. The prediction model was coded based on TensorFlow, an open-source library developed by Google. The performance of the RNN-LSTM algorithm for the hourly- or daily-based water quality prediction was tested and analyzed. Research results showed that the hourly data for the water quality is useful for machine learning, and the RNN-LSTM algorithm has potential to be used for hourly- or daily-based water quality forecasting.

농도별 로즈마리 오일 흡입이 노인의 기억력, 집중력 및 자율신경계 반응에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Rosemary Oil Inhalation on Memory, Attention and Autonomic Nerve System on the Elderly by Different Concentration)

  • 본 연구는 농도별 로즈마리 오일 흡입에 따른 기억력, 집중력, 및 자율신경계 반응을 확인하기 위한 비동등성 대조군 전후 실험설계로 65세 이상 노인에게 아몬드 캐리어 오일 흡입군(대조군), 10% 로즈마리 오일 흡입군(실험군 A)과 100% 로즈마리 오일 흡입군(실험군 B)으로 각 오일을 시향지에 묻혀 5분간 흡입하도록 하였고 기억력, 집중력 및 자율신경계 반응을 측정하였다. 수집된 총 89명의 자료는 SPSS win 24.0를 이용하여 반복측정 ANOVA로 분석하였다. 결과는 기억력 평가인 즉각 회상(F=.42, p=.656), 지연 회상(F=.45, p=.639) 재인 검사(F=1.45, p=.242)와 집중력 평가인 숫자 바로 외우기(F=1.53, p=.223)와 숫자 거꾸로 외우기(F=.46, p=.636)에서 세 군 간의 유의한 차이가 없었다. 또한 자율신경계 반응 결과, 교감신경 활성도(LF)(F=.19, p=.828), 부교감신경 활성도(HF)(F=.37, p=.694), 자율신경계 활성도비(LH/HF)(F=1.39, p=.256), 수축기 혈압(F =.37, p=.694) 및 이완기 혈압(F=1.25, p=.291)에서 세 군 간의 유의한 차이가 없었다. 따라서 아몬드 캐리어 오일, 10%와 100% 로즈마리 에센셜 오일 5분간 흡입은 65세 이상 노인의 기억력, 집중력, 자율신경계 반응에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

MLB 구장의 건축 디자인에 나타난 문화적 지속가능성의 특성 (The Characteristics of Cultural Sustainability in Architectural Design of MLB Ballparks)

  • Purpose: Ballparks of KBO which were built by local governments and operated for baseball game-centered have been required more sustainable development according to going into low growth phase in Korea recently. MLB ballparks with the teams having 100 year old tradition have been sustainable-developed economically, socially, environmentally and culturally. This research is to study the characteristics of cultural sustainability in architectural design of 30 MLB parks. Method: To begin with comparison analysis of usage rate of 10 ballparks of KBO with 30 ballparks of MLB, and architectural designs of facades, fields, accommodations, sculptures, greens, roof gardens, etc. are analyzed in the MLB ballpark. And finally, the characteristics of cultural sustainability in the architectural design are analyzed. Result: MLB ballparks have played role as core-space of urban community, accumulated space of citizens' memory being originated in natural climatic feature of region, historical image of city and tradition of home-ballpark. A basis of these characteristics could is nature of cultural sustainability, that is to say local community, historical restoration, social solidarity.
