Methods: The PICO-SD (Participants, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome, and Study Design) strategy was established. A search of the electronic bibliographic database of NDSL, RISS, KMbase, and KoreaMed etc. was performed and 28 articles met inclusion criteria. The health education included stress management, mental health, health promotion lifestyle, chronic disease, and medication. Various exercises such as walking, stretching, gymnastics, rhythmic activity, muscle strength, and joint exercise were performed. The programs for elders showed an association with significantly improved muscular strength, flexibility, depression, quality of life, subjective health status, satisfaction with life, self-efficacy, and health promotion behavior. Conclusion: Intervention programs including both exercise and health education are effective in improving health promotion behavior and physical and psychological health status in elders. Therefore, these results could provide useful guidelines for development of effective health intervention programs for the elderly.

It needs school members involvement in partnership with community resources to address the needs for school based injury prevention and safety promotion. The characteristics and principles of ISS model discussed in this paper emphasizes participation, capacity and partnership building, evidence based process, and so on. A 7 criteria is introduced as ISS implementation strategy. Multilevel and multi-facet approaches are valuable on ISS as well as process evaluation. For the application of ISS model in Korea, finding evidence, building public health partnership between school and other public or private resources in community are necessary conditions for succesful ISS for health promotion in school setting.

Methods: To examine the association with subjective stress level and health promotion factors, health survey was conducted with 3,892 students who were first-year students in an university by self-reported questionnaire from February 26 to March 10, 2015 in an university. Multiple regression analysis performed to identify the difference of health promotion factors by subjective stress level. Results: 1,015 students (26.1%) were on high stress level and 2,110 students (54.2%) were in healthy status. The 10.8% of them was obesity group and the 40% was alcohol use disorder group. The 8.2% had experienced depression in the last 1 year. In multiple regression models, it remained significantly the difference of subjective stress level by sex, subjective health status, sleep hours in a day, eating frequency of fruit and vegetable in a day, depression experience and suicidal thought in the last 1 year(p<0.05, p<0.01). On the other hand, it was not significant the difference by age, BMI, alcohol use disorder, eating breakfast, regular exercise and current smoking. Conclusions: To improve health promotion of first-year students of university, it should provide the intensive mental health program to women on campuses.

  • The principal objective of this study was to determine the importance of obesity management nutrition programs for obese male workers after performing a 10-week nutrition program and to compare changes in the obesity index, health behavior, meal intake, and blood constituents. The study subjects included 44 individuals, all without chronic disease. After the program, the weight, body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage, and waist-hip ratio (WHR) of the subjects dropped. Dietary life behavior scores increased. In particular, more than 30% increases were detected in self-control of surfeit, control of eating speed, temperance, and regular exercise items. Total caloric intake and average drinking intake dropped. Though insignificant, systolic pressure, total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and sGPT all dropped as compared to the levels measured prior to the program. Fasting blood sucrose, triglyceride, $\gamma$-GTP, and atherogenic index dropped significantly. HDL-cholesterol, though insignificant, increased. As the result of examining correlations between the subjects' health life behavior, caloric intake, and improvement in obesity, we noted a significant correlation between self-control of surfeit and temperance in the health life behavior item, along with significant correlations among total calorie intake, surfeit percentage, and daily average drinking intake. These results demonstrated that nutrition program for obese workers performed at the Community Health Center had the effect of reducing obesity, improving health behavior, and improving clinical levels. Thus, it is advisable that obesity management programs be achieved, linking the center of local societies' health promotion projects, community health centers, and workplaces, and various programs should be developed to maintain and continue changes in workers' behaviors, such that the positive effects of improvement in obesity could be maintained, even after the program.

  • This study was designed to investigate the effects of an aquatic exercise program on the physical function and depression among the community elderly. The subjects were 41 cases of aged over 65 who went to elderly college in Hawsung-Kun, Kyeongkee province. Seventeen of them were assigned to control group, while twenty four subjects to the experimental group. The period of data collection was from June., 1999 to November., 1999. The aquatic exercise program was developed by the author with the assistance of rehabilitation medicine doctor and physical therapist in the public health center. The program was carried out once a week for 6 months in regular swimming pool. Data were analyzed with t-test, $X^2$ test, ANCOVA. paired t-test using SAS 6.12. Results were obtained as follows: 1. The increments in the range of motion of the shoulder and knee joints in experimental group after exercise was significantly greater than those in the control group. 2. The physical pain score decreases significantly after the exercise in the experimental group only. 3. The experimental group revealed lower level of depression after exercise than the level before the exercise, whereas control group showed no significant changes in this level. These findings may indicate that the aquatic exercise program is effective in increasing the range of motion of shoulder and knee joints and also effective in decreasing pain, the level of depression. • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the process and outcome of a mobile computerized system for individual home visiting healthcare. Methods: A nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design was employed for this study. The newly constructed system was administered to 80 healthcare providers in the experimental group for 8 weeks. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, and ANCOVA with the SPSS 18.0 program. Results: In the process stage, the difference in the frequency of computerized information usage between the experimental and control groups was significant as $8.88{\pm}3.20$ and $7.08{\pm}2.92$, respectively (t=3.90, p<.001). In the outcome evaluation stage, all kinds of healthy lifestyle such as alcohol use, nutrition, weight management and mental health were not improved. Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that the revised mobile computerized system was an effective device for individual visiting healthcare providers. Further advanced strategies for using this system should be developed and applied in a broad range of community healthcare.
