Methods : In this study, convenience sampling was conducted in 430 senior citizens aged 65 years who lived in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do in Korea, for about six months from December 2011 to May 2012. For data collection, the structured questionnaire was used. Community-based senior citizens' welfare facilities and centres, as well as nearby churches were visited to inform them of the information on this study. Then, the senior citizens who agreed to participate in this study were given the questionnaire sheets. Excluding 33 copies of inadequately completed questionnaire sheets, 397 copies (92.3% of the entire collected data) were analyzed. Results : 1. In terms of the experience with oral health education, the number of elderly respondents who have not received oral health education was 202 (50.9%), whereas the number of those who have received oral health education was 195 (49.1%), which indicates that the latter shows a slightly higher proportion. 2. Examining the necessity for oral health education, the overall mean was 3.67 points based on 5 points as full marks, which suggests that senior citizens have high awareness of the necessity for oral health education. 3. Regarding the willingness to participate in oral health education, the number of those who answered that if any opportunity to receive oral health education is given, they would be willing to receive such the education was 211 (53.1%). • The purpose of this study is to investigate the level of mother's caregiving satisfaction of a person with mental disorder and factors influencing to it as a positive aspect of caregiving experience. A survey conducted upon 231 mothers who live together with their adult-children with mental disorder through community mental health centers, social rehabilitation facilities and day hospitals. Collected data were analysed by t-test, Oneway-ANOVA, hierachical multiple regression analysis, and so on. The results are as follows: 1) The mean of mother's caregiving satisfaction is 3.06 in 5 point scale. Among the total items of the caregiving satisfaction scale, the means of the items 'finding strength through caregiving' and 'personal growth through caregiving' are higher than any others. 2) In the final regression model, statistically significant factors influencing to the caregiving satisfaction are 'the relationship quality between mothers and the mentally disordered', 'perceived social support from family, significant others, and friends', 'marital status of mothers', and 'family income'. Better relationship quality between mothers and the adult children with mental disorder and higher social support from family, significant others, and friends explained higher caregiving satisfaction of mothers. The level of a widow or divorced mother's caregiving satisfaction is higher than married one. The less family income affected to higher caregiving satisfaction. Variables related to mental disorder of adult-children, such as social function, years of mental disorder and frequency of hospitalization were not statistically significant influencing factors to mother's caregiving satisfaction. Through this research, the implications of social work practice were suggested in many ways.

  • As the economic, social, and environmental problems of the local community reach a serious level, our society is realizing the need to foster young talents who discover opportunities in local issues through entrepreneurship education and create social values through creative challenges. However, entrepreneurship education programs are generally focused on commerciality, so customized education programs to solve regional problems are insufficient. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a community problem-solving entrepreneurship curriculum. In this study, a competency based curriculum model was applied to develop the curriculum, and regional problem-solving entrepreneurship competencies were derived through expert advice from a total of 10 people. In the process, the Delphi methodology was additionally used to reduce the possibility of errors in the competency model. As a result of the study, a total of 23 regional problem-solving entrepreneurship competencies were confirmed, and knowledge(K) - skill(S) - attitude(A) by competency consisted of 5, 9, and 9, respectively. By applying this to Dunham's problem-solving six-step model, modular learning support measures were developed in the order of phase 1(problem discovery), phase 2(problem analysis), phase 3(plan), phase 4(measure), and phase 5(evaluation). This study is meaningful in that it integrated theory and practice by developing specific entrepreneurship curriculum and learning support measures based on the theoretical model devised in social welfare. In addition, it has implications in that it developed a regional problem-solving entrepreneurship competency model based on expert advice and proposed a specific curriculum based on this.
