  • The study is to analyze the role of highschool youth group in a rural regeneration project. The process of youth group becoming subjective in resident participation plan was classified into isolation reduction, self-awareness, perspective-taking, subjectivity practice, and opinion expression. Isolation reduction is a stage in which youth group is gradually drawn into the community from a limited society of home and school, self-awareness is a stage in which they discover their thoughts, and view perspective-taking is a stage in which they objectify themselves and surroundings through communication with other members of the region, social experiment was analyzed as a practice of subjectivity that experiences leadership guiding the local community independently, and expressing opinions is a stage of representing the region and giving responsibility for the specific issue of the implementation plan. The study is also an analysis of how residents committee, local governments, and local research institutes perform both regeneration and community revitalization in rural areas. Therefore, the analysis of the cooperative organization of these institutions was conducted simultaneously. The leadership program was effectively linked to the project of rural regeneration. Since high school students themselves are family members of the local people, the process of accepting the project is unaffected, and the feasibility of the project is also increased, such as forming a positive atmosphere for the project and easing resistance to minority opinions.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze community members' perception due to impacts on use and development of Dulegil in Bukhansan National Park. The study was conducted by questionnaire survey sent to community members of the vicinity of Dulegil. Average score of positive impact on the local community was 3.2. Positive impacts mentioned by community members were 'heightened pride in their community with increased community image' and 'improvement of landscape and natural environment.' Improved residents' awareness of landscape and natural environment indicated that Dulegil almost accomplished intended goal of preservation of ecosystem. However, actual effects on ecosystem preservation and local economy were not perceptible yet. Score of negative impact was 2.8 on average. 'Traffic congestion' and 'increase in noise level' were considered the most serious among the negative impacts. Environmental pollution and destruction of vegetation in the lowland were deemed relatively bad. Regarding resident awareness of community, those in their 50s and older were quite satisfied with the community. However, young people showed lower level of satisfaction. In order to satisfy all ages, infrastructure and programs for the youth should be in place. To minimize negative awareness of impacts of Dulegil, visitor's attitude should be changed, and education and training on the value and mind set of horizontal hiking are required.

  • Agile software development methodology has been implemented by software industries over a decade ago and well accepted in the practitioner community. However, there is limited understanding on how agile practitioners aware towards implementation of agile practices in software development. Lack of awareness will lead to misunderstandings among agile practitioners and misuse the agile practices. In order to understand the awareness of agile practices, this paper aims to investigate the factors that affect awareness of agile practitioners in implementing agile practices. A systematic literature review (SLR)was conducted in order to classify and define the factors of awareness in agile software development methodology. The review was based on papers between 2002 and December 2014 from seven electronic databases. The relevant papers were included 20 journal articles, 24 conference papers,16 book chapters, 9 workshop papers. Consequently, 69 papers were identified that closely related with awareness in agile software development methodology. From the thematic analysis, 13 factors were classified from 42 elements. Based on the review result, understanding the influential factors on the awareness of agile practices will provide benefit to researchers and agile practitioners.

  • Background: Punjab state is particularly reporting a rising burden of cancer. A 'door to door cancer awareness and early detection campaign' was therefore launched in the Punjab covering about 2.67 million population, wherein after initial training accredited social health activists (ASHAs) and other health staff conducted a survey for early detection of cancer cases based on a twelve point clinical algorithm. Objective: To ascertain unit cost for undertaking a population-based cancer awareness and early detection campaign. Materials and Methods: Data were collected using bottom-up costing methods. Full economic costs of implementing the campaign from the health system perspective were calculated. Options to meet the likely demand for project activities were further evaluated to examine their worth from the point of view of long-term sustainability. Results: The campaign covered 97% of the state population. A total of 24,659 cases were suspected to have cancer and were referred to health facilities. At the state level, incidence and prevalence of cancer were found to be 90 and 216 per 100,000, respectively. Full economic cost of implementing the campaign in pilot district was USD 117,524. However, the financial cost was approximately USD 6,301. Start-up phase of campaign was more resource intensive (63% of total) than the implementation phase. The economic cost per person contacted and suspected by clinical algorithm was found to be USD 0.20 and USD 40 respectively. Cost per confirmed case under the campaign was 7,043 USD. Conclusions: The campaign was able to screen a reasonably large population. High to high economic cost points towards the fact that the opportunity cost of campaign put a significant burden on health system and other programs. However, generating awareness and early detection strategy adopted in this campaign seems promising in light of fact that organized screening is not in place in India and in many developing countries.
