For this, we analyze the effect of organizational commitment on OCB and analyze organizational commitment as a mediating variable in the relationship between workplace behavior and OCB. This study employed survey data for 80 employees of 12 village credit institutions in the Badung Regency. Observation is one way to obtain primary data. It is done by observing the object, which is the primary source of data, and conducting direct observations of the research location to determine the circumstances and problems. This research uses data collection techniques: 1) interviews conducted with employees working in Badung Regency both in managers and staff positions. 2) Questionnaire, namely, by using several closed questions given to the Badung Regency employees regarding workplace spirituality, organizational commitment, and OCB. The analysis technique used the partial least squares (PLS) approach and the Sobel test. The results show that workplace spirituality does not affect OCB but positively affects organizational commitment. Also, organizational commitment has a positive effect on OCB. The major findings are organizational commitment acts as a mediating variable in the relationship between workplace spirituality and OCB.
D. W. Organ(1977) published a paper about the importance of Organizational Citizenship Behavior(OCB) in an organization. Since then, the studies of OCB have been continuously increased. As recent business environment has changed with rapidity and uncertainty, OCB for the improvement performance of organization should be more emphasized. Role behaviors of organization are divided into two parts such as in-role behavior and extra-role behavior. In recent, although the researches about extra-role behavior have been studied, they are still not sufficient. This study attempted to examine relationships between organizational culture, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior, Sample was 193 employee engaged in hospitals of Pusan. In this study I chose four factor(affective, conservative, task and innovative culture) of organizational culture and three factors (affective, continuous and normative commitment) of organizational commitment and five factors(altruism, conscientiousness, courtesy, civic virtue and sportsmanship) with regard to organization citizenship behavior. The major findings of the empirical research are as follows ; 1. The Causal relation of dimensions of organizational culture and dimensions of OCB. 1) Affective culture has significant impact on courtesy, civic virtue of OCB. 2) Conservative culture has no significant impact on all of OCB. 3) Task culture has significant impact on conscientiousness, civic virtue, sportsmanship of OCB. 4) Innovative culture has no significant impact on courtesy, civic virtue of OCB. 2. The Causal relation of dimensions of organizational commitment and dimensions of OCB. 1) Affective commitment has significant impact on all of OCB. 2) Continuous commitment has no significant impact on all of OCB. 3) Normative commitment has significant impact on courtesy, civic virtue of OCB. In brief, though this study has several limitations in research design and methods, the results suggest that organizational culture of hospitals and organizational comitment of hospitals shows a strong relationship to the organization citizenship behavior.
This study analyzes the structural relationships among communication pattern of leader, followers' trust in leader, organizational commitment and innovative behavior. In order to analyze hypotheses, the survey was collected by distributing questionnaire to 250 workers in small and medium-sized companies. As a result, total 213 workers participated in the survey and their rates were included for the test process. The collected data analyzed structural equation modeling, a statistical program. The results of this study are as follows; First, supportive and reflective communication pattern of leader have meaningful positive influences on followers'trust in leader. Directive communication pattern of leader, by contrast, is negatively related to followers'trust in leader. Second, followers'trust in leader has a positive impact on organizational commitment. Third, organizational commitment has a positive effect on followers'innovative behavior. Based on these results, it can be said that followers'trust in leader is more important for boosting organizational commitment and innovative behavior because it has a positive effect on organizational commitment with supportive or reflective communication behavior of leader. Therefore, this study proposes practical benefits to leaders regarding how to display communication process and trust quality more effectively.
