Comparisons between Two Different Eggshell Lines on Egg Traits and Egg Production Rate in Layers (계란의 형질들 및 산란율에 대한 난각색이 다른 두 계통간의 비교 연구)

  • The objective of this study was to compare the two different eggshell lines of commercial layers on egg traits and egg production rate. Hy-line W-98 (white shell line; WSL) and Hy-line Brown (brown shell line; BSL) were used as experimental stocks. The birds in each line were allocated to three floor pens each containing 25-birds. They were fed a ration containing 15.5% CP and 2,700 ㎉/kg ME, and were supplied 16 h of light per day throughout the experimental Periods. The egg traits and egg Production rate were measured from 53 to 56-wk-old and 20 to 56-wk-old, respectively. The mean egg weight and the mean percentage albumen were significantly heavier and higher (P<0.05) in the BSL than in the WSL, respectively. The mean eggshell thickness and the mean percentage shell were also significantly thicker and higher (P<0.05) in the BSL than those in the WSL, respectively. However, the mean percentage yolk and the yolk to albumen ratio showed a reverse trend as shown in the mean percentage albumen or percentage eggshell. Although the WSL birds started laying 4 d earlier than the BSL ones, the overall mean egg Production rate for BSL during 20 to 56 wk of age was significantly higher (P<0.05) by 6.6% than the WSL. It was concluded that the eggs of brown eggshell line had heavier egg weight and thicker shell, and they had more percentage of albumen, but less percentage of yolk than those of the white eggshell line. These results suggest that the brown eggshell line raised on the floor might be more beneficial than the white eggshell line not only for the preference of the table egg consumers, but also for the efficient production of the eggs.

  • The Maglev system is environmentally friendless system, has excellent running capabilities and lower life cycle cost. The Maglev has been developed by Germany and Japan since 1970's. Then, Transrapid of Germany, super high speed type, had started for commercial operating at Sanghai of China in the early of 2004. In March of this year, HSST of Japan, urban type, had been serviced at Tobukyuro Line which links between Nagoya and Aichi. Recently, in Korea, Maglev system has been reviewed for commercial application.

  • In recent years, for the viewpoint of environment and electric power demand for stable secure, new energy such as photovoltaic system (PV) become increasingly popular. In case of interconnecting PV to the commercial electric company, two problems will occur when operating in isclation with the other general consumers. One is doing harm to the power quality. And the other is the security problem caused by charching a part of commercial system line that has to be no voltage. In this paper, a simple modelling of distribution system and grid-connected PV system and simulation result were proposed.

  • This paper presents a method of the constructing DEM(Digital Elevation Model) from the image data acquired from a commercial map using the scanner. Data acquistion, mark elimination, linking the broken line, elevation interpolation and 3D display processing are performed and the results are satisfatory.

  • A line parallel to the ground is frequently shown in our daily life, which enables us to guess its direction. Especially, such a guess tends to become clear when a vanishing line of the ground is shown together. In this paper, a vision based pallet measurement method is suggested, which uses a technique for estimating three-dimensional direction of a line parallel to the ground. The technique computes actually a vector heading to intersection of a given imaged line parallel to the ground and the ground vanishing line determined previously on calibrating a measurement camera. Through an experiment of measuring a real commercial pallet with various orientation and distance, we found that the technique could measure the orientation of the pallet correctly and accurately. The technique worked well even though an edge line available on the front plane of a pallet was almost parallel to the ground vanishing line.

A Study on TPS based on ATO for Driverless LRT (ATO 자동운전 기반의 무인운전 경전철 TPS에 관한 연구)

  • TPS (Train Performance Simulation) based on ATO (Automatic Train Operation) is required for driverless LRT (Light Rail Transit) operation plan instead of typical TPS based on driver operation. In this paper, new TPS model using ATO pattern is proposed and compared with the automatic train operation result in a test line of Seoul Metro Line 6 and in a whole line of Busan-Gimhae LRT. The actual ATO pattern can be very accurately simulated by new TPS model with the introduction of 4 parameters such as commercial braking rate, jerk, station stop profile and grade converted distance. The commercial scheduled time for driverless automatic train operation can be proposed to have "Fast" mode TPS trip time plus 3 seconds/km margin recommended by Korean standard LRT specification in this paper.

  • Advanced EMU have been enhanced in terms of safe transport and maintainability. It is a new urban railway technology that enables an operation institution to cut repair and maintenance costs and customers to use convenient service at lower costs based on IT technology. If a development vehicle of Advanced EMU is completed, it will be used to test the entire advanced EMU system through sufficient performance check and reliability check prior to operation in commercial line. It will also verify efficiency, safety, punctuality and energy efficiency of transport. Accordingly, it is necessary to figure how to repair and maintain vehicles to enhance safety of Advanced EMU system in cooperation with operation during the period of comprehensive evaluation on the operation of a development vehicle in a test line. In this paper, we investigated the maintenance program of Advanced EMU on test operation in Dabul line. The test condition and operation environment of Advanced EMU in Daebul line was analyzed.

  • This study presents the wheel wear measurement results of Saemaeul train running on the conventional line. The train set included three different cars which have different shape of wheel profile including KNR and KTX profile currently used in Saemaeul. Train set was operated on Seoul-Pusan line with fixed train set formation for commercial service. Wheel wear measurements were peformed periodically. Here, we describe some results.

  • On the 105th year of the Korean Railroad, Korea railroad is at the advent of the high speed operation with an commercial operation of KTX(Korea Train eXpress), the fifth high speed line in the world, between Pusan and Seoul at the speed of 300km/hr. In order to enhance nation competitiveness in $21^{st}$ century, Korea Railroad is faced with a task of improving the railroad network in the areas of new line constructions, betterment of existing rail lines, increasing the operation speed and transportation capacity and modernization of rolling stock fleet.

  • When we construct a manufacturing plant, optimal design is very important. This paper is to simulate an engine manufacturing flow line for commercial vehicle. The parameters we consider in simulation include facility downtime, tool change time, buffer size between consecutive stations, and time to repair the facility. We use AutoMod to compare the alternatives. The objective is to minimize the total cost. Simulation results provide significant cost saving by improving the current design and policy.
