The increasing number of senior citizens, combined with the power of purchasing due to discretionary income have vaulted the elderly into the position of an attractive future target market. Therefore, it would be crucial for marketers to understand elderly's purchasing behavior. The purpose of this study was to identify clothing purchasing behavior of elderly women. For this study, questionnaires were administered to 600 women over 55 years of age. However, the sample that was analyzed fer statistical analysis was involved 418 elderly women. Statistical analysis were majorly descriptives such as frequencies and percentages. The major results of this study were summarized as follows. 1. In relation to problem recognition in purchasing process, motives of purchasing apparel were identified as a happy event in home such as a wedding and a birthday, a change of seasons and a casual discovery of a suitable clothing in shopping, in orders. 2. In relation to information search, important information on apparel and fashionability were thought as display racks in a store, opinion from friends and family and fashionability from others or streets, in orders. 3. In relation to selecting a store in purchasing process, older consumers assessed that attractive price, design suited to my age, variety in one store and apparel product quality were important store attributes, in orders. In terms of a purchase place, older consumers purchased clothing mainly on department stores, wholesale stores such as Namdaemoon or Dongdaemoon market, mainly retail stores located close to home and discount stores of well known brand, in orders. 4. In relation to alternative evaluation in purchasing process, older consumeres considered that style or appearance suited to me, color, design, comfort and fitness were important selection criteria, in orders. 5. In relation to purchase choice, 61.7% of the respondents paid money by themselves and 68.9% paid on cash in purchasing apparel. 6. In relation to outcomes of purchase, older consumers solved their complaint against a unsatisfactory product mainly by returning the unsatisfactory clothing. Also, there were those who took no action against the unsatisfactory product and who altered the clothing for fitness by themselves.

This study gives guidelines to pattern designing by supplying various images of the transformed shape of jeans with the location of the waistline and the pants silhouette. For this study, 9 kinds of sample cloths (100% cotton denim) were designed considering the laying measurement of the jeans with the location of the waistline and the pants silhouette. The images of each sample were evaluated after the measurement of the completed samples. Clothing and textiles specialists used a semantic differential scale as the evaluation method of the images. For the statistical analysis of the data, one way Anova and Duncan test were adopted using the SPSS 12.0 program. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The visual image by the location of waistline and the change of the pants silhouette is composed of 3 factors (attraction, fashion and comfort factors) of which the attraction factor is the most important factor. 2. The visual image is positive when the location of the waistline is in the low waist position. It is attractive, fashionable, and comfortable. The visual image is negative when the location of the waistline is in the position of the natural waist. 3. The visual image is attractive when the pants silhouette is a boot-cut and fashionable when the pants silhouette are skinny. The straight-cut is comfortable but the visual image is negative. 4. There is no correlation between visual image by the location of the waistline and the change of the pants silhouette.
Purpose: This study was undertaken to review the precise morphological patter'ns of polydactyly of the foot and to evaluate outcomes of surgical interventions. Materials and Methods: The records of patients who had polydactyly of foot from 1983 to 2000 were reviewed retrospectively. 29 duplicated toes(24 patients) were analyzed. All cases were evaluated and classified with Temtamy and McKusick's axial pattern, Watanabe's morphologic pattern and level of duplication. Clinical evaluation was performed according to Phelps and Grogan's. Mean age at surgery was 5.7 years(range: 10 months$\sim21$ years). All the patients were subsequently evaluated during mean 17 months(range: 13 months-$\sim5$ years). Results: Preaxial polydactyly was seen in 3 cases, central polydactyly in 3 cases, postaxial polydactyly in 22 cases and remaining 1 case was multiple my involvement. Only 2 patients have familial history and the most common associated anomaly was hand deformity(20.8%). Clinical results were excellent in 14 cases, good in 5 cases, poor in one. 17 patients(70%) were operated before 6 years olds and they had better results than those of who were operated after 6 years olds. Conclusion: The Method of surgical correction for the polydactyly should be individualized by its morphological pattern because the purpose of operation was to give comfort in wearing shoes and patient's psychological relief. This study showed that polydactyly of the foot could be corrected surgically with good results in most cases, and the better results would be achieved if the operation is performed before preschool age according to its individualized pattern of duplication.

Commercial drivers feel tired more than the general public, because their driving times are long and they experience more idle vibration. In this study, we developed a nonlinear model of a magnetic, linear spring seat suspension to determine the optimal design to improve ride comfort. The resonant frequency for the optimal design of the suspension was found to be 3.5 Hz, and the stiffness was analyzed through displacement-load experiments. Additionally, the vibration transmissibility was analyzed by the suspension stiffness, and the existing coil spring type vibration transmissibility was found to be 0.99. A parallelogram type magnetic spring was determined to result in a better performance than the existing spring with a vibration transmissibility of 0.823.

The purpose of this study is to develop and examine an in-line skating uniform that is also suitable for everyday wear, through research on the dressing needs of skaters. The results of this research are as follows: when asked about the garment, ordinary clothes were more inconvenient than professional uniform. In the case of the upper garment, the skaters who dressed in ordinary clothes felt the most inconvenience in the part of sleeve, back side of bottom and width. The skaters who dressed in professional in-line uniforms felt the most inconvenience in the part of neck girth, of sleeve, back side of bottom. In the case of the lower garment, the skaters who dressed in ordinary clothes felt the most inconvenience in the knee, crotch and hip. The skaters who dressed in professional in-line uniforms felt the most inconvenience in the hip and crotch. Damage due to wear was shown up the hip, knee, side of thigh and shoulder. The answer rate was high that the ordinary clothes usually wore out and the uniform used to tear out in the form of clothes damage. An appropriate sample pattern was made up, based on the problems revealed in the results of the questionnaire analysis. Evaluation of samples was used linear Measurement (5 point preference scale) by organized with 15 male and female's subjects group and 12 observer group.
The eco-friendly elements are important for new construction and renovation and redevelopment of the buildings. The green buildings are related with minimizing environmental pollution and how to live with nature throughout the entire process of demolishing and building. The purpose of this paper is to study on eco-friendly business buildings in the trend of mandatory green building certification system. The analysis of this paper is comparative studies on practices at eleven domestic eco-friendly business buildings through site survey on design framework of green buildings. The design framework of eleven this buildings is six kinds of skills on technical, renewable, ecological, cultural, healthy, social. The eleven this buildings in the new & renewable energy and IT technology of technical sector are satisfied with the framework. But, domestic most advanced eco-friendly business buildings are placed difference between almost the two times on the lower buildings at comparative evaluation. The three of this buildings are gratified rainwater harvesting and waste recycling systems for renewable and recycle. The buildings have an excellent aspects of technology and ecology. The benefits of this buildings are related with future compulsory zero energy house to take technical advantage of renewable energy. However, the buildings reflecting the regional culture types is insufficient. The buildings should be supplemented as follows. This buildings are need to have the social enhancement programs and design for convenient space of community residents, through health and comfort of on workplace. Moreover, this buildings have features of coexisting with human beings and nature friendly with the aim of realizing the sustainable development. The social enhancement programs through regional cultural aspects with ecology are related with individual and community livings in harmony, non-hierarchical communal lifes. The development of the cultural aspects provide for consensus about the local community and creating sustainable communities. Thus, The buildings are to have energy saving, pleasant and healthy living environment and interactive individual and community livings in harmony.
Long-span cable-supported bridges are flexible structures vulnerable to unsymmetric loadings such as railway traffic and strong wind. The torsional dynamic response of long-span cable-supported bridges under running trains and/or strong winds may deform the railway track laid on the bridge deck and affect the running safety of trains and the comfort of passengers, and even lead the bridge to collapse. Therefore, it is eager to figure out the torsional dynamic response of long-span cable-supported bridges under running trains and/or strong winds. The Tsing Ma Bridge (TMB) in Hong Kong is a suspension bridge with a main span of 1,377 m, and is currently the world's longest suspension bridge carrying both road and rail traffic. Moreover, this bridge is located in one of the most active typhoon-prone regions in the world. A wind and structural health monitoring system (WASHMS) was installed on the TMB in 1997, and after 17 years of successful operation it is still working well as desired. Making use of one-year monitoring data acquired by the WASHMS, the torsional dynamic responses of the bridge deck under rail traffic and strong winds are analyzed. The monitoring results demonstrate that the differences of vertical displacement at the opposite edges and the corresponding rotations of the bridge deck are less than 60 mm and $0.1^{\circ}$ respectively under weak winds, and less than 300 mm and $0.6^{\circ}$ respectively under typhoons, implying that the torsional dynamic response of the bridge deck under rail traffic and wind loading is not significant due to the rational design.

Recently, because the market for compression wear now includes all consumers, not just professionals, various items for recovery after exercising or for enhanced effects from exercise have been introduced. In this research, a systematic and stepwise design process was proposed to develop compression garment that has both functional area and appropriate pressure to protect the knee when exercising. The U-V format functional area that wraps underneath the knee was selected by considering the shape and change in the skin length when bending the knee. After the selection of the functional area, a total of seven knee design areas, including the existing product, were designed to determine the appropriate pressure. After various movements, the compression garment was ranked in terms of support of the knee, level of pressure, discomfort of seam line, and comfort of popliteal; the preferred design was selected using the quad method. Four compression wear garments were produced using two selected preferred designs; the wear evaluation was performed using a seven-point Likert scale. As a result, the optimal reduction rate of the pattern was calculated based on Ziegert and Keil's method. The applied percentage of the fabric stretch at the upper part of the crotch was 66% for the width and 50% for the length; for the lower part of the crotch, only 66% for the width was applied. Moreover, it was determined that the design of the U-V knee protection part was preferred when a 7 mm square was placed at a 1 mm distance because this not only supports the knee but also allows the fabric to accommodate various skin deformations.

Outdoor lighting has become a necessary essential part of society for safety and comfortable space. However, inappropriate outdoor lighting leads to energy waste and poor landscape. Outdoor lighting is a very important social element, which enables us to conduct various activities at night in a safe, efficient and comfort way. River Thames in UK, Venice in Italy and Sydney in Australia is a good example of the coastal area. This paper aims to evaluate the light pollution of outdoor lighting in coastal area in Busan city. The Radiant Imaging ProMetric-1400 was used to measure the luminance of Gwangalli Beach, Marine City and Haeundae Beach. Compare to the CIE recommendation level the luminance of the all outdoor lighting were about 2~20 times higher. Outdoor lighting of the building facade luminance level and color should be particularly limited.

Expressway network which plays an important role on land transportation system, have been developing quantitatively and qualitatively with $7{\times}9$ structure. To cope with complex geometric condition, guidance lane marking has been installed to induce safer lane-changing maneuver. However, there is no standard on guidance lane marking and its effectiveness is also verified with limited scope. The major purpose of this research is to clarify its effectiveness in terms of driving safety aspect using virtual driving simulator and to suggest standard on the proper length. To carry this out, preference data from subjects was collected and lane-changing pattern within virtual driving environment was investigated. In addition, in order to quantify the level of comfort, Electroencephalogram data was collected and validated using statistical test. Finally, it is expected that this research can be used to establish standard on guidance lane marking.
