The purpose of this research is to show the effectiveness of spinal stenosis treated by Hominis Placenta Megadose pharmacopuncture combined with Korean medicine treatment. We used Hominis Placenta Megadose pharmacopuncture treatment on patients who received treatment at Bucheon Jaseng Korean medicine hospital from March, 2016 to October, 2016. Also we checked Numeric Rating Scale(NRS), Oswestry low back pain Disability Index(ODI) to follow the scale showing the improvement of the symptoms of the patients. All 4 patients showed the improvement of NRS, ODI scales. This research suggests Hominis Placenta Megadose pharmacopuncture combined with Korean medicine treatment can help treat spinal stenosis.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Dochim & Gwanchim therapy combined with Korean medicine treatment in patients of herniated lumbar disc. Methods : Clinical study was conducted to 103 patients who were treated in Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Medicine, Korean Medicine Hospital, Daejeon University from 1st september, 2011 th 31th July, 2013. We divided into two groups. The group A(n=80) was treated with Gwanchim therapy combined with Korean medicine treatment, and the group B(n=23) was treated only Korean medicine treatment. We evaluated the treatment effect with the verbal numerical rating scale(VNRS), and compared admission day and one day after admission. Results : 1. In both two groups VNRS was decreased and this therapy is safety. 2. In group A, VNRS was decreased 10 to 5.68 and in group B, VNRS was decreased 10 to 8.7 Conclusion : This study demonstrates that Gwan acupuncture therapy has significant effect reducing pain for HIVD(herniated lumbar intervertebral disc) patients.

A patient diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) suffering from numbness in the toes and fingers, paralysis in the face, and back pain received intravenous immunoglobulin on December 28, 2019. Without an improvement in symptoms the patient was admitted to a Korean medicine hospital on January 1, 2020 to receive combined Korean medicine treatment including herbal medicine (Sipjeondaebo-tanggami and Hyangbujasunkipalmul-tang), acupuncture treatment, moxibustion, cupping treatment, and physical therapy. Treatment was administered over 51 days, of which 17 days were during hospitalization. Paralysis of facial muscle, and numbness in fingers and toes were evaluated using the Yanagihara score and numeric rating scale (NRS) score, respectively. Facial paralysis improved (21 to 40 based on Yanagihara score) and paresthesia of the hands and feet disappeared (NRS score 6-7 to NRS score 0). There were no side effects or sequela. This study suggested combined Korean medicine treatment may be effective for the treatment of GBS.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of visual and auditory feedback combined with theraband exercise in rounded shoulder posture. Methods: There were 43 adults with rounded shoulder posture who had a distance of 2.5 cm or more from the posterolateral of the acromion to the table in the supine position that participated. The participants were randomly divided into four groups: those with visual feedback from the lateral view (visual feedback; VFB, n = 11) provided, those with auditory feedback of praise (auditory feedback; AFB, n = 10) provided, those with visual feedback and auditory feedback (visual auditory feedback; VAFB, n = 11) provided, and those without any feedback (control group; CON, n = 11). Theraband exercise with or without feedback was carried out three times per week for three weeks. To confirm the effect of theraband exercise with visual feedback and auditory feedback on pain, range of motion (ROM), posture, and psychological variables were measured before and after exercise in participants with rounded shoulder posture. Results: The VAFB group showed significant differences in pain, ROM, posture, and psychological variables when compared before and after treatment. However, the differences among the VAFB, VFB, AFB, and CON groups were significant in the ROM of abduction, the New York Posture Rating, and the scapular index. Conclusion: In conclusion, theraband exercise combined with visual feedback from the lateral view and auditory feedback by praise improved rounded shoulder posture. Moreover, auditory feedback was more significant statistically than visual feedback.

Objectives : We report a case of Phantom Limb Pain (PLP) and propose the possibility of integrative Korean and Western medicine in PLP treatment. Methods : For 42 days, a patient who complained of pain and insomnia with PLP (December 20, 2016 to January 20, 2017) received Korean and Western medical treatment. The patient was treated with analgesic injection, a neuropathic pain inhibitor, the combined herbal formula powders Bojungikgitang, and acupuncture. Symptom improvement was assessed using the numerical rating scale (NRS) and continuous sleep time. Results : The patient's NRS scores decreased, and continuous sleep time increased after treatment. The NRS scores decreased from 10 to 0, and the continuous sleep time increased from 2 hours to 7 to 8 hours. Conclusion : According to the results, this report suggests that integrative Korean and Western medicine could be effective in the treatment of PLP patients.

In general, a two-dimensional platform were used to manage the structural inspection information. But we performed a study on utilizing 3D model to input and display the information of structure inspection. Coarse and Fine model of structure were used to input the information. 3D model combined with database built from record plan and field inspections data and rating will provide more intuitive and effective environment for inspectors in bridge maintenance.

Social noise survey on multiple residential noises such as nut impact, air-borne, bathroom, drainage and traffic noises was conducted to investigate major variables affecting the overall satisfaction for noise environment The effect of individual noise perception on the evaluation of the overall noise environment was investigated through a questionnaire survey on annoyance, disturbance and noise sensitivity. Auditory experiments was also undertaken to determine noise level according to the percent of satisfaction for individual noise source. As a result of survey, it was found that satisfaction for floor impact noise most greatly affects the overall satisfaction for noise environment and annoyance most greatly affects the satisfaction for individual noise sources. Result of auditory experiment showed that the noise level of floor impact noise by bang machine, airborne, drainage and traffic noise corresponding to 50% satisfaction is 44dB($L_{i,Fmax,AW}$) and 40dBA, respectively.

In this study, a prototype liquid container combined with auxiliary handles was designed to increase the safety of manual handling and protect from contamination of hands of people who use these containers. Likert summated rating method as well as pairwise ranking test was applied to evaluate the user preferences for provided handles of the container under the conditions of different shapes and positions. The results show that the subjects preferred perpendicular orientation of the handle on the top of the liquid container while carrying the containers and the crosswise position of the handle at the side of the container while pouring the liquid were preferred. A prototype liquid container with provided auxiliary handles was developed based on the results of evaluation. It is thus recommended that the liquid container provide extra handles to reduce the musculoskeletal stress and in turn to increase the user satisfaction.

The colorants of kale powders were optimally extracted using an 1:1 mixture solvent of ethanol and DMSO at 105℃ for 30 minutes obtaining a high yield of 359.7㎍/mL chlorophylls. Low color fastness of the dyed fabrics with the extracts, particularly against washing and solar radiation, can be overcome by the combined treatments of chitosan, heat setting and tannic acid. Washing fastness to color change was improved from rating 1-2 up to 5 due to the enhanced electrostatic interactions between the colorants and the positive glucosamine unit of the chitosan in the cationized cotton. In addition, the tannic acid treatment contributed to the additional increase in color fastness after the sequential treatments of chitosan pretreatment, dyeing and heat setting.

The advantage of the controlled permanent magnet system for magnetic levitation is the considerable improvement in levitation force to weight ratio and the reduced rating of the on-board power supply. A combined support and guidance technique with selfstable guide behaviour reduce the expense of control and power electronics. An important feature of this system is the simplified mechanical construction of track and the vehicle does not embrace the guide way. Therefore surface mounted as well as elevated tracks are possible. The magnet was designed to provide a lift force of 750kg for a 3 ton prototype vehicle with 4 magnets by KERI and built by Dae-Bo Magnetic Co., LTD. The paper also describes the assembling technology for permanent magnets, the experimental setup and test results for lift force, guidance force and flux distribution.
