The purpose of this study is to investigate the self-image of men and the characteristics of their fashion styles, as they are fast becoming an influential consumer group. Men in the thirties and forties who had a higher-than-average interest in fashion were surveyed online and the results from this study are as follows. In terms of variations of self-image connected to situations, we found that there were strong relationships between the preference of the "charming & romantic" image to private meet-ups with acquaintances, "intelligent & classy" to official events, "rational & realistic" to everyday work in an official setting, and "modest & ordinary" to complex situations including family occasions and customary events. Those who aimed for "urban refinement - sensitive" appeal also preferred a "charming & romantic" self-image, while pursuing a "classic & modern" fashion style for official settings and a "gentle & charming" style in private settings. Those who aimed for "stable elegance - intelligent" youth" image preferred the "intelligent & classy" image, while pursuing a "stable & intelligent" fashion style in official settings, and an "intelligent yet active & young" style in private settings. Those who aimed for "rational practicality - comfortable activity" image preferred a "rational & realistic" self-image, while pursuing a "rational & practical" fashion style in official settings, and a "comfortable & active" style in private settings. Those who aimed for "ordinary modesty - plain simplicity"preferred a modest and ordinary self-image, while pursuing an ordinary fashion style, and a simple style in private settings. The various situational assessments used in this study to analyze the fashion-related circumstances for male consumers can be utilized in upcoming studies, and can be an effective indicator of situational consumer preferences in terms of men's fashion marketing and product planning strategies.
As directly imported apparel brands are actively entering the domestic market, studies of the marketing aspects of these imported apparel products and their overall consumption trend have been done. However, studies of whether are not the directly imported apparel products provide Korean consumers with an appropriate fit are not as common. Therefore, this study investigates the satisfaction with and problems associated with the fit along with the recognition of and preference for directly imported US apparel brands. 100 female college students who purchased directly imported US apparel brands participated in a survey. The results of this survey showed that their recognition of, preference for, possession rate of and satisfaction with the directly imported US apparel brands tend to be high. The major purchasing motivations were the excellent 'design' and 'color' of the products. The subjects reported that they were satisfied with the quality of 'materials' and 'sewing condition'. However, they were not satisfied with the 'comfort' or the 'size'. Their level of satisfaction with the fit of these products differed depending on the specific item. Their level of satisfaction with the fit of T-shirts and knits was high, whereas the level for pants was relatively low. They complained mostly about the sleeve length and garment length of upper-body garments and coats. They were not satisfied with how the pants fit. The areas of dissatisfaction regarding the pants were the waist girth, the crotch length and the pants length.
This study identifies the dimensions of cosmetics consumption values and the differences in cosmetics brand selection through a cosmetics consumption value group and by product type. The subjects of the study were females over age 20 living in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province between January and February 2008; 427 questionnaires were used for analysis. For data analysis the SPSS 17.0 statistical program was used, and principal component analysis, factor analysis using Varimax rotation, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ reliability testing, cluster analysis, ANOVA test, and Duncan test were conducted. The results and conclusions of this study are as follows. The dimensions of cosmetics consumption values were found to be the pleasure value, the fashion value, the function value, the brand ostentation value, and the appearance ostentation value. Five types of groups by factor were identified: the group seeking function, the group seeking fashion and brand ostentation, the group seeking pleasure, the group seeking appearance and brand ostentation, and the indifferent group. Second, The group attaching importance to functionality was more likely to select high-priced brands while the group attaching importance to brand awareness were more likely to seek foreign brands, irrespective of product type. As far as base and color cosmetics are concerned, the group attaching importance to pleasure was more likely to select low, medium, and high priced foreign brands, as well as low and medium priced domestic brands. As for body products, the group attaching importance to fashion and brand awareness tended to select low, medium, and high priced domestic brands, as well as high priced foreign brands. By simultaneously purchasing high, medium, and low priced brands, these groups display an ambivalent consumption pattern. This study identified the differing dimensions around cosmetics consumption values and cosmetic brand selection. The research findings helps cosmetic companies set product prices and contributes to cosmetic marketing strategies.
The purpose of this study was to examine consumer purchasing behavior of the online shoppers particularly using online clothing shopping mall and to analyze the key factors of both satisfaction and dissatisfaction of their purchase and to compare the both group by lifestyle segmentation in order to provide the e-CRM strategies. Focus group interviews and survey were conducted in December, 2003 with 30 online shoppers who have an experience of online clothing purchasing. The data analysis included the content analysis, descriptive statistics, K-means and factor analysis. Key findings of the study were as follows: First, online shoppers spent average 3.5 hours on internet and usually purchased clothing while surfing the web. Second, consumers were satisfied with reasonable price and customized service but dissatisfied with delayed delivery, limited product availability in both size and color and return policy. Third, according to the lifestyle segmentation, online shoppers could be characterized as 'Luxurious', 'Trendy' and 'Prudent' 'Luxury-oriented consumers', who value fashion, diet and social activity, tended to purchase basic yet high quality products. However, 'Trend-oriented consumers', to whom fashion trend was most important, purchased various latest fashion products with reasonable price and showed generally positive response to emails sent by e-retailers. And lastly 'Prudence-oriented consumers', whose buying decision was based solely on practicality, appeared to be reluctant to purchase clothing online while seeking more credible information and competitive price. In conclusion, this study has its significance in that it helps promote relationships between customers and e-retailers by providing differentiated e-CRM strategies through each customer groups 'lifestyle segmentation and consumer purchasing behavior analysis.
In the first half of 20th century, there was an abrupt change in society and social values. Therefore, a demand for functional women's sportswear started to increase. This paper has attempted to investigate the impact of functionalism on women's sportswear in the first half of the 20th century. The following results were obtained: First, anti-tradition was observed. There was a tendency to be separated from the past and against tradition. It was tried to pursue freedom, getting away from corset and petticoat. Second, structural functions were targeted. In other words, precise and efficient shapes and simple silhouette and line were emphasized. Third, fitness of purpose was found. More liberal and comfortable design has been targeted. That's why a variety of functional pants have been designed instead of skirts. Fourth, utility and practicality were found. Elastic fabrics such as wool and jersey and sweater have commonly used in sportswear. A variety of new fabrics have been used and details such as flare, slit and pleats have been designed. Lastly, non-ornamentality was found. The beauty of simple shape was pursued by omitting details or eliminating unnecessary ornaments. Monochrome and dark color were preferred and a use of accessories has declined. The result of this paper could be used in establishing a theoretical framework on the impact on social change, values and art and helpful In modern women's sportswear design and marketing which have become more important.
The consumption of poultry meat (chicken and turkey) grew the most during the past few decades due to several contributing factors such as low price, product research and development, favorable meat characteristics, responsive to consumer needs, vertical integration and industry consolidation, new processing equipments and technology, and aggressive marketing. The major processing technologies developed and used in chicken processing include forming/restructuring, tumbling, curing, smoking, massaging, injection, marination, emulsifying, breading, battering, shredding, dicing, and individual quick freezing. These processing technologies were applied to various parts of chicken including whole carcass. Product developments using breast, thigh, and mechanically separated chicken meat greatly increased the utilization of poultry meat. Chicken breast became the symbol of healthy food, which made chicken meat as the most frequent menu items in restaurants. However, the use of and product development for dark meat, which includes thigh, drum, and chicken wings were rather limited due to comparatively high fat content in dark meat. Majority of chicken are currently sold as further processed ready-to-cook or ready-to-eat forms. Major quality issues in chicken meat include pink color problems in uncured cooked breast, lipid oxidation and off-flavor, tenderness PSE breast, and food safety. Research and development to ensure the safety and quality of raw and cooked chicken meat using new processing technologies will be the major issues in the future as they are now. Especially, the application of irradiation in raw and cooked chicken meat products will be increased dramatically within next 5 years. The market share of ready-to-eat cooked meat products will be increased. More portion controlled finished products, dark meat products, and organic and ethnic products with various packaging approaches will also be introduced.
The purpose of this study was to analyze jeans market faced with economic difficulties to provide jean's maker with a large representative data base for jeans marketing strategy. This study surveyed jeans market and analyzed brand awareness. brand image and consumer's seeking image for 700 young adults. The 700 questionnaires were distributed at the five locations(Opkujung Shinchon Munjungdong, Shinrimdong '||'&'||' Suwon) and 656 reliable ones were used for statistical analysis. A. SAS statistical package including frequency table factor analysis. analysis of variance. and Duncan's multiple range test was used. The results are as follows : 1. Brand awareness involves "brand recall" based on asking a person to name recalled first and "brand rcognition" based on asking to identify brand name from 30 given brands. The result indicated that "Levis" was dominant for brand recall and Guess was dominant for brand recognition. 2. Regarding the brand image the result showed that "Vov" was best represented for sophisticated '||'&'||' trendy brand images "Storm" for characteristics brand image "Jambangee" for reasonable price '||'&'||' comfortable brand images and "Levis" for classic '||'&'||' design/color brand images. 3. As a result of factor analysis on consumer's seeking image six factors(characteristic/gay, intelligent/sexy, feminine/sophisticated , active/functional, cute/young, simple/comfortable) were found. Several factors had a relationship with demographic variables and preferred design. 4 Many young adults favored following design details ; low waist relaxed thigh with straight leg and long length up to the end of shoes. Also they preferred basic pocket to cargo pocket and simple logo accessories to metal ones.simple logo accessories to metal ones.
The porpose of this research is helping product developments and establishment men's marketing strategies. This contents are divided into two parts; the dress shirt's wearing condition and the dress shirt's buying condition. The subjects of the research were male that aged 25-50 and their company is resided in Seoul. The conclusion of this research is summarized as below ; 1. Many consumers have wrong term recognition of dress shirt. Most of men know their dress shirt's sizing designation as casual method(ex, $\cdots$95, 100$\cdots$). Therefore it is happened fitness complains. Dress shirt's wearing frequency for a week is 1-2 days or 5days mostly. A number of dress shirt’s wearing period for one is 6-12 months. Dress shirt‘s wearing frequency fand wearing period varies according to their age, unmarried or married situation, scholarship, occupation. So the manufacturer of men's dress shirt grasps the factor's for their character. 2. The conclusion of dress shirt's buying motivation is need better than impulse buying. If company planning season event, the selling will be improved. Most of men buy their dress shirt by themselves. It means a lot of men are interested in their clothes comparing to old days. And men's favorite purchase place is a department store and agent. when they purchasing, the color and size is very important factor. But dress shirt's sizing designation is not yet established. Therefore the dress shirt's sizing designation is needed as possible.
This research was focused on observing the effect of Makgeolli's selection attributes on customer satisfaction, recommendation intention, and repurchase intention. The purpose of this study was to examine to present a marketing-related suggestion by finding the components that needs to be discussed in order to satisfy the customer and lead to positive word of mouth and repurchasing in the perspective of a corporation. The evidence to achieve the research purpose can be summarized as below. To begin with, the causes of Makgeolli's selection attributes were classified into 9 types, which are design and ad image, expertise and tradition, drinking experience and in harmony with food, taste and freshness, materials and origin, brand image, flavor and color, alcoholic and nutrition, and finally price and recommendation. And it showed up that the average importance of the taste and freshness is the highest. Moreover, the study on the Makgeolli's state of being potable showed up that the drinking number was no more than once a month, and one drink was almost all less than a bottle. The drinking place was usually tavern, and word of mouth was the most often used information medium that contacted Makgeolli. The potential of the Makgeolli's globalization is 80.6% which added positive and very positive, that enables us to infer that the Makgeolli's global dependency is very high. Third, from the 9 types of classification mentioned before, taste and freshness, and price and recommendation were proved to be influential in satisfaction, and recommendation is affecting the repurchase intention and the recommendation intention.
