절화장미 단색염색에 미치는 몇가지 요인의 최적조건 규명 (Characterization of Optimum Conditions Affecting Single-Color Dyeing of Cut Rose)

  • 본 실험은 절화장미 중 만개시의 꽃의 크기, 밀집도, 개화 시 꽃의 모양, 꽃잎의 단아함, 염색 시 색발현 등이 양호한 'Akito' 품종을 대상으로 단색염색을 위한 최적조건을 규명하고자 실시하였다. 염료용액의 pH가 3.5, 염료의 온도가 $20-25^{\circ}C$일 때 염료의 착색과 흡수속도가 가장 빨랐으며 절화수명 또한 15일로 가장 길었다. 염색을 위한 꽃의 개화 정도는 꽃잎이 3장 이상 핀 상태인 2~3단계에서 Pantone color, 염색 후 꽃의 품질및 절화수명이 양호하였다. 염색액의 처리 시 실내온도는 $10^{\circ}C$의 비교적 저온에서 흡수가 양호하였다. 염색용액의 농도는 $10g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 처리했을 때 가장 선명한 색상을 나타내었으며 염색액의 흡수를 촉진시키기 위한 전착제 처리는 $2mL{\cdot}L^{-1}$를 사용하는 것이 가장 적절한 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 실험은 절화장미 'Akito' 품종을 재료로 하여 4가지 색상(yellow, orange, purple, blue)을 동시에 염색하기 위한 최적 조건을 구명하고자 수행하였다. 염료용액의 pH를 3.5에서 9.0으로 처리하였을 경우, pH 가 3.5에서 4가지색 모두 흡수속도가 빨랐다. 꽃의 착색에서는 각 pH별 차이가 없었고 잎에서는 pH의 차이보다는 색상의 차이에 따라 purple과 blue에서 색 발현이 현저하였다. 염료 별 농도처리에서 $10g{\cdot}L^{-1}$ 농도에서 가장 선명한 색 발현이 되었으나 유의성은 없었고 염색의 종류에 따라 유의차를 보였다. 염색에 미치는 처리시간은 10분 후에 파스텔 색상이 발현되었고, 30분 후에는 꽃의 색상이 가장 선명하였지만 동시에 잎에서도 착색이 진행되었다. 이상의 결과로부터 절화 장미 'Akito'의 염색 시 pH 3.5, 염색농도 $5-10g{\cdot}L^{-1}$, 처리시간 10-30분간 처리가 화색의 발현 및 품질의 완성도를 높이는데 적당하였다.

Sequence characterization and polymorphism of melanocortin 1 receptor gene in some goat breeds with different coat color of Mongolia

  • Objective: Extension and Agouti loci play a key role for proportions of eumelanin and pheomelanin in determining coat color in several species, including goat. Mongolian goats exhibit diverse types of coat color phenotypes. In this study, investigation of the melanocortin 1 receptor (MC1R) coding region in different coat colors in Mongolian goats was performed to ascertain the presence of the extension allele. Methods: A total of 105 goat samples representing three goat breeds were collected for this study from middle Mongolia. A 938 base pair (bp) long coding region of the MC1R gene was sequenced for three different breeds with different coat colors (Gobi Gurwan Saikhan: complete black, Zalaa Jinstiin Tsagaan: complete white, Mongolian native goat: admixture of different of coat colors). The genotypes of these goats were obtained from analyzing and comparing the sequencing results. Results: A total of seven haplotypes defined by five substitution were identified. The five single nucleotide polymorphisms included two synonymous mutations (c.183C>T and c.489G>A) and three missense (non-synonymous) mutations (c.676A>G, c.748T>G, and c.770T>A). Comparison of genotypes frequencies of two common missense mutions using chi-sqaure ($x^2$) test revealed significant differences between coat color groups (p<0.001). A logistic regression analysis additionally suggested highly significant association between genotypes and variation of black versus white uniform combination. Alternatively, most investigated goats (60.4%) belonged to H2 (TGAGT) haplotype. Conclusion: According to the findings obtained in this study on the investigated coat colors, mutations in MC1R gene may have the crucial role for determining eumelanin and pheomelanin phenotypes. Due to the complication of coat color phenotype, more detailed investigation needed.

Cr-doped Y2O3-Al2O3계 붉은 안료의 합성과 적용 (Synthesis of Cr-doped Y2O3-Al2O3 Red Pigments and their Application)

  • New inorganic red pigments based on Cr-doped $Y_2O_3$ and $Al_2O_3$ were synthesized by solid state method and characterization of their pigments were characterized by using XRD, FT-IR, SEM and UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The single perovskite phase revealed at $1450^{\circ}C{\sim}1550^{\circ}C$ for 6 h due to using mineralizers. The color of pigment powders resulted out various red-shades depending on the compositions of used materials and temperatures. Glazed tiles painted with pigment powders showed red color in oxidation and reduction firing. The best red colour was obtained when the $Cr_2O_3$ was used 0.04 mole at $1450^{\circ}C$ for 6 h.

  • In this study, we investigated the clean appearance and good stretch properties. Usually, clean appearance concerned with the dyeing properties of core and effect yarns. The dyeing properties between core yarn (conjugate yarn) and effect yarn were determined by the build-up and the color differences using the four different yarns of SDY FD(spindraw yarn full dull), SDY CD(spindraw yarn cation dyeable), POY FD( partially-oriented yarn full dull) and POY CD(partially-oriented yarn cation dyeable). We used the single color dye of C. I. Disperse Blue 79 and mixed colors made by C. I. Disperse Red 60, C. I. Disperse Blue 56, and C. I. Disperse Yellow 54.

  • Chemical and sensory profiles of 5 Korean commercial rice wines (yakju) were developed using descriptive, physicochemical, and volatile analyses. Color, 6 aroma, and 5 taste attributes of these rice wines were evaluated by a panel of 13 judges. Sample wines were analyzed for titratable acidity, ethanol content, pH, Hunter colorimeter value, organic acids, and free sugars. Volatile analysis of the samples revealed the presence of 2 acids, 7 alcohols, 19 esters, and 5 miscellaneous compounds. Based on principal component analysis of the descriptive data, rice wines were primarily separated along the first principal component, which accounted for 57% of the total variance between the rice wines with high intensities of 'color' and 'sweet aroma' versus 'ginseng' aroma.

제조방법에 따른 딸기잼의 관능적 품질 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Sensory Quality Characterization of Strawberry Jam by Cooking Method)

  • As the level of life improves, the eating habit is changing from rice meal to bread meal and at the time, eat more strawberry jam than before. We tried to study to select the good cooking method and the proper strawberry variety for the jam through the sensory evaluation We made four kinds jam of Bogyo-Joseoung and Ai-berry by different cooking methods, the result6s of the sensory evaluation are as follow: The jam of Ai-berry is better than that of Bogyo-Joseoung by the paired comparison test but the difference between those, if we add some lemon to the jam of Bogyo-Joseoung and Ai-berry, is very little. The multiple comparison test proves the sourness, if added some lemon and citric acid, become better and the color and viscosity, if added pectin, became better. The overall preference about jam, if pectin and citric acid were added together, was best. In addition, we evaluated the quality of jammed bread by multiple comparison test. The result is like this: The jam with lemon is very good in color, flavor, sourness and texture, but the jam with pectin and citric acid was the best in overall preference.

A methodology for spatial distribution of grain and voids in self compacting concrete using digital image processing methods

  • Digital image processing algorithms for the analysis and characterization of grains and voids in cemented materials were developed using toolbox functions of a mathematical software package. Utilization of grayscale, color and watershed segmentation algorithms and their performances were demonstrated on artificially prepared self-compacting concrete (SCC) samples. It has been found that color segmentation was more advantageous over the gray scale segmentation for the detection of voids whereas the latter method provided satisfying results for the aggregate grains due to the sharp contrast between their colors and the cohesive matrix. The watershed segmentation method, on the other hand, appeared to be very efficient while separating touching objects in digital images.

Angle of View Polarization Characterization of Liquid Crystal Displays and Their Components

  • LCD performance is generally evaluated in terms of luminance and color versus viewing angle. In the present paper, we show that this type of display can be favorably characterized in terms of polarization. We show that ELDIM EZContrast instrument which is routinely used for viewing angle measurements can be upgrade for measuring the polarization state of the light at each incidence and azimuth angle. More precisely, the degree of polarization of light, its ellipticity and polarization direction can be measured at each incidence angle between 0 and $88^{\circ}$ and for all the azimuth angles (from 0 to $360^{\circ}$). Important differences between the displays can be detected and related to their internal structures when luminance and color profiles are quite similar. The same setup can also be used to characterize optical components of the LCDs.
