플립러닝 학습법이 대학생의 자기 주도적 학습능력, 비판적 사고성향, 학습 동기, 학습 만족도에 미치는 효과 (The effects of Flipped Learning Method on a college student's self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study is to analyze the effects that Flipped Learning Method has on a college student's self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction, and determine its effectiveness as a new pedagogical approach. Methods: The survey was conducted on dental technology students. The collected data was analyzed by the statistical program SPSS 21.0. The results were analyzed by reliability, frequency, t-test. To test for significance on each item, p<0.05 has been decided as a standard. Results: According to the analysis, the student who attended a class that utilized Flipped Learning Method was found to have higher levels of self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction than a student who attended a class that did not utilize such a method. Conclusion: The study results show that, in order to enhance students' self directed learning ability, critical thinking disposition, learning motivation, and learning satisfaction and to improve the quality of class instruction, it may be necessary that Flipped Learning Method be adopted more widely and recommended more strongly. Such changes will promote a long term improvement in educational environments and play a major role in strengthening students' abilities.

의과대학생의 성격유형과 전공 및 대학생활 만족도 (Personality types of medical students and their satisfaction with major and student life)

  • Objective: The goal of this study was to investigate personality preferences of medical students and to examine the relationship between personality profiles and their satisfaction with major and student life. Methods : The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), which measures personality preferences, was administered by medical students (n = 94) who began to qualify from the Yonsei University College of Medicine in 2007. The resulting personality profiles of the medical students were correlated with scores of the satisfaction with major and student life Results: First, there were more preference types of Introversion(61.71%), Sensing(67.66%), Thinking(73.41%) and Judging(61.71%) than Extraversion (38.29%), Intuition (22.34%), Feeling (26.59%) and Perception(38.29%), Most medical students are personality type ISTJ(24.21%), followed by ESTJ(17.02%), Second, students with the preference for Extraversion and Intuition were more satisfied with their major and student life. Third, the preference for Judging showed higher scores in the satisfaction with major. Conclusions: This study might give implications for the psychological wellbeing and successful studying of medical students.

대학생소비자의 인터넷탐색가치유형과 인터넷쇼핑에 대한 혜택-위험 지각정도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Level of Perception to Internet Shopping′ Benefit - Risk in Relation to the Internet Searching Value Types of College Student Consumers)

  • This study explored the Internet searching values(utilitarian searching value and hedonic searching value) of college student consumers, typed the Internet searching values to four types, and analysed the level of perception to Internet shopping' benefit-risk according to the Internet searching value types. The subjects were 361 college students. We used Cronbach'$\alpha$, multiple regression, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe' test as statistical analysis. The results were summarized as follows : 1) According to the Internet searching values, college student consumers were classified into 4 types - high utilitarian/high hedonic type, high utilitarian/low hedonic type, low utilitarian/high hedonic type, and low utilitarian/low hedonic type. 2) Both high utilitarian/high hedonic type and low utilitarian/high hedonic type had high level of perception to Internet shopping' benefit-risk.

대학입학전형 관련 요인에 따른 간호학과 1학년의 학업성취 분석 : 일 대학 간호학과를 대상으로 (Nursing Student Academic Achievement depending on College Entrance System-related Factors)

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the influence of college entrance system-related factors and scores of college scholastic ability test on a first year nursing student's academic achievement. Method: Data collected include both a descriptive survey designed to assess college entrance system-related factors with respect to 182 nursing students attending a 4-year nursing college program and their test scores in the first year. The data were analyzed via descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test with Bonferroni's correction, and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient through an SPSS 18.0 program. Results: Student academic achievement with regard to college entrance system-related factors exhibited significant divergence from first year grade point averages (hereafter GPA) and natural science grades. Conclusion: This study confirmed the existence of significant differences, depending on the factors regarding the college entrance system. As a result, conducting assessment to evaluate the level of basic knowledge before college entrance is highly recommended. Also recommended is the development of a support program for students projected to have difficulties with respect to their academic achievement.

간호대학생의 셀프리더십, 학업적 자기효능감 및 교수-학생 상호작용이 자기주도학습에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Self-leadership, Academic Self-Efficacy and Instructor-Student Interaction on Self-directed Learning in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the influencing factors of self-leadership, academic self-efficacy and instructor-student interaction on self-directed learning in nursing college students. Methods: This study used a descriptive survey design. Participants were 190 nursing college students at three universities in Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangnam-do. Data were collected from May 10 to June 12, 2016 using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression with SPSS 19.0. Results: The results showed that the self-leadership of the nursing students was 3.49, academic self-efficacy, 3.17, instructor-student interaction, 3.71, and self-directed learning, 3.43, respectively. Self-directed learning of nursing college students was positively associated with self-leadership(r=.65, p<.001), academic self-efficacy(r=.61, p<.001) and instructor-student interaction (r=.36, p<.001). 001). Self-leadership, academic self - efficacy, major satisfaction, GPA 4.0 or above explained 65% of the total variance in self-directed learning among nursing college students. Conclusions: The findings of this study indicated that nursing interventions for increasing self-leadership, academic self-efficacy and major satisfaction should be developed to improve self-directed learning of nursing students. Additional studies for changes in the overall teaching and learning environment to promote the self-directed learning environment in nursing education should be conducted.

의과대학 임상실습의 변화: 학생인턴제도의 가능성에 대한 전망 (Changes in the Clerkship in Korean Medical Schools: The Prospect of a Student Internship)

  • The subinternship (student internship), a subtype of bedside and clinical training was first developed in the United States. Currently, some medical schools conduct a student internship and many other universities are considering the implementation of a student internship in Korea. If the intern system is abrogated beginning in 2016 as in the United States, then the importance of the student internship will be greatly emphasized for clinical training. To produce good and competent medical doctors, members of medical schools and affiliated hospitals must acknowledge the role of the educational hospital and support student internships. In addition, the effort of the medical community to develop and apply a standard curriculum to the student internship is also required. Above all, the attention of society and the nation is essential to make legal policy changes regarding the conducting of student internships and enhance understanding about the authorized practices in university hospitals. The medical community's effort to draw attention to this issue is greatly required to implement a student internship at this time.

전문대학생의 학습과정 분석에 관한 연구 : K-전문대학을 중심으로 (A Study on the Analysis of College Students' Learning Process : Based on the surveys in K-College)

  • 본 연구는 전문대학생들의 학습참여에 관한 학습과정 수준이 성별, 수업연한, 계열, 학점에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 비교 분석하였다. 연구대상은 G시 소재 K전문대학 정규교육과정 재학생들 중 2015학년도 2학기 학습과정 설문조사 참여에 응답한 재학생 총 684명이었다. 측정도구는 전문대학 학습과정 분석 척도를 수정 및 보완하여 사용하였다. 연구방법은 빈도분석과 성별, 수업연한, 계열, 학점에 따라 전문대학생들의 학습과정 수준 차이를 살펴보기 위하여 일원배치 분산분석과 사후검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 성별에 따른 전문대학생의 학습과정은 하위요인 중 수업 외 학습활동, 수업 중 학습활동, 학습성과, 대학시설서비스에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 수업연한에 따른 전문대학생의 학습과정은 하위요인 중 수업 외 학습활동, 수업 중 학습활동, 수업만족도, 대학시설서비스에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 계열에 따른 전문대학생의 학습과정은 하위요인 중 수업 외 학습활동, 수업 중 학습활동, 학습 상호작용, 학습성과에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 넷째, 학점에 따른 전문대학생의 학습과정은 학습과정과 전체 하위요인(수업 외 학습활동, 수업 중 학습활동, 수업만족도, 학습 상호작용, 학습성과, 대학 시설 서비스)에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 마지막으로 본 연구결과에 대한 논의 및 함의를 기술하였다.

Medical Student Examination Questions for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery of Almost 60 Years Ago

  • Medical student examination questions of 60 years ago are very rare to find irrespective of medical specialty. Recently, medical student examination questions for thoracic and cardiovascular surgery were found, which were presented between 1957 and 1959 at Seoul National University Medical College. All examination questions were hand-written in six pages by a professor as examiner. Among the six pages, four examination papers were dated and/or the target grade was identified, while the remaining two did not offer any information. These materials are thought to have a valuable historical meaning for the Korean medical community as well as the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Seoul National University Hospital.

성과중심교육 측면에서 우리나라 의과대학 학생평가의 현실과 과제 (Current and Future Challenges of Student Assessment in Medical Education from an Outcome-based Education Perspective)

  • Most medical colleges in Korea have been shifting from traditional education to outcome-based education, which is the general trend in medical education. The purpose of this study was to make some suggestions in light of the reality and challenges of student assessment in medical education from the perspective of outcome- based education. First, those who are responsible for student assessment should be diversified to include faculty, residents, students, and evaluation committee members. They need separate roles in educational evaluation, so evaluation competencies are required for them. Second, various methods for evaluation and score interpretation can be used for effective evaluation. We can adopt diagnostic, formative, and summative evaluation functionally, and the norm-referenced, criterion-referenced, growth-referenced, and ability-referenced evaluation based on criteria for score interpretation. Finally, various evaluation domains and test forms can be administered together in the common lectures in the medical school. We can test not only knowledge but also skills and attitudes, with diverse test forms such as supply and performance types.

의학교육 학생평가의 객관성에 대한 쟁점 (Issues Related to the Objectivity of Student Assessment in Medical Education)

  • This paper addressed various issues related to the objectivity of student assessment in medical education. The objectivity of assessment was related to all the steps of test development, administration, and results reporting in terms of reliability and validity. Specifically, the objectivity of item formats, representativeness of test content, standardization of test administration, consistency of scoring procedures, and appropriateness of reporting test results were discussed by comparing performance assessment with traditional paper-and-pencil tests. The conclusions were derived from current measurement theories such as standards-based assessment, evidencebased design, and outcome-based assessment. Further, based on Shepard's propositions (2006), the objectivity of student assessment could be achieved by improving the concordance between educational objectives and assessment components such as item types, test contents, and test administration, scoring, and reporting.
