This school program was consisted of health counseling, necessary treatment, health related lectures, and vocational education about Korean medicine. A satisfaction questionnaire was conducted to gather information about overall satisfaction of the program and the program details such as health counseling, treatment, and health lectures. Results A total of 1,713 students and faculty members participated and 164 of those students completed the satisfaction survey. The overall mean score for the teaching activities was $8.54{\pm}1.76$, satisfaction of health counseling was $8.57{\pm}1.74$, treatment satisfaction was $8.39{\pm}1.83$, satisfaction with the health lectures was $8.23{\pm}1.96$ (range 3~10), and the need for continuity of the program was $8.43{\pm}1.91$ (range 1~10). • Objectives: This study aimed to confirm the relationship between toothbrushing practice after lunch and typical oral health behaviors in children and adolescents according to the subject and type of social support. Methods: The study used data from the 2010 Korean Survey on the Health of Youth and Children and selected 8,704 elementary, middle, and high school students as final targets. Multiple logistic regression was conducted to confirm the link between social support and toothbrushing after lunch. Results: The results showed that in elementary and vocational high school students, statistical significance of all social support variables disappeared after controlling for both demographic and social factors and oral symptom experience. However, in the middle school students, the emotional support of the neighbors and the emotional support of the teachers showed statistically significant effect on brushing daily after lunch (p<0.05). In general high school students, there was a significant association between family emotional support and toothbrushing after lunch (p<0.01). Conclusions: The oral health promotion program for children and adolescents needs to be integrated and coordinated with the overall health promotion program. In particular, it is believed that the school-based program can strengthen the practice of health behaviors by inducing behavioral changes based on the formation of healthy relationships and trust of colleagues and teachers. Therefore, it is necessary to develop social network-based programs including social support such as emotional health and healthy relationships that can be applied among children for oral health promotion.

  • Purpose: To understand the dietary habits and factors influencing the dietary habits in adults of an urban community. Method: The data were collected via questionnaires that investigated dietary habits, health behaviors, health-related factors, and general characteristics. A total of 302 subjects were selected from those who had visited an urban public center over a 2-week period. The data of 294 subjects were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression, after 8 questionnaire were excluded due to incomplete data. Results: The degree of dietary habits was in the middle range. The most positive dietary habit was 'intake fibers from vegetables, fruits, and cereals', followed by 'not enjoy salty food and salt' and 'eating breakfast everyday'. The significant predictors influencing dietary habits were age, present smoking behavior, perceived health status, and drinking frequency, and these variables accounted for 27.3% of the variance in the dietary habits score. Conclusion: Health care providers should focus on health promotion planning regarding dietary habits and other health-related behaviors in combination and use integrated strategies regarding the factors that influence dietary habits and other health-related behaviors.
