Purpose: This study explores the relationship between future time perspective and older consumers' masstige product consumption, specifically, their intention to purchase masstige brand products, with a focus on their motivational drives from an functional value and symbolic value perspective. Research design, data and methodology: Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 419 people aged 54 to 64 years in South Korea and the hypotheses were examined using structural equation modeling. Results: Our results indicated that middle-aged and older consumers who have expanded future time perspective have higher intention to purchase masstige brands and their functional value and symbolic value of masstige brands were found to mediate future time perspective and intention to purchase masstige brands. Conclusions: The findings offer insights into masstige brand consumption by older South Korean consumers that may be useful for both academics and marketers.

Resent studies have reported increased isolation of extended-spectrum $\beta-lactamase$ (ESBL) producing strains at several hospital in Korea. We studied to investigate the isolation rates of ESBL strains from clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae and to characterize differences in types using analyses of genotyping and antibiotic susceptibility test. Antibiotic susceptibility test with confirmation of ESBL by double disk synergy test was performed on the 54 ESBL strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae from a hospital in Busan. Transfer of resistant gene in ESBL strains resistant to 3rd generated antibiotics was confirmed by transconjugation test using E. coli $RG176^{nal(r)}$. blaTEM, blaSHV, blaCTX-M genes were detected by PCR. ESBL producing strains had 100% of resistant rate to ampicillin, azteronam, cefazolin, cefepime and ceftriaxone ($\beta-lactam$ antibiotics). Forty strains of bla TEM$(74\%)$, 41 strains of bla SHV $(76\%)$, 23 strains of bla CTX-M $(43\%)$ were found, respectively. The strains had one or more genes. They had high resistant rates to $\beta-lactam$ antibiotics including cephalosporin. The resistant rates of strains with multiple resistant genes were higher than those of strains with single resistant gene.

Directional (sinistral) asymmetry (DA) occurs when the traits of one side of a supposedly bilaterally symmetrical organism differ in a random way from those of the other side. We examined asymmetries in gonadal growth traits within both sexes of hatchery reared ayu, Plecoglossus altivelis. The pattern of the gonadal growth from hatching to 320 days after hatching was a type of DA except for the growth in gonad weight from 140 to 180 days after hatching, although the ovary of the right side tended to exhibit more pronounced DA phenomenon.
The main objective of this study was to provide anesthetic criteria of clove oil for an effective manipulation and transportation of red spotted grouper, Epinephelus akaara. When anesthesia temperature (20, 24, and $28^{\circ}C$) and concentration of clove oil (25, 50, and 75 ppm) were increased, the anesthesia and recovery time decreased and tended to be similar to each other between juvenile and adult. Also, as the temperature and concentration increased, the ratio of exposure time and recovery time between juvenile and adult were decreased. When plasma cortisol concentrations were compared for 48 h after anesthesia with 50 ppm of clove oil, both the juvenile and adult fish grew up to 12 h; however, thereafter decreased and there was no significant difference from control at 48 h.

This study analyzed the fishery and maritime vocational high school teachers' recognition on the outcomes and future agenda. In addition, it delineates the importance of the vocational education division being carried out for 10 years in the College Scholastic Achievement Test (CSAT). In order to gather relevant information, 76 teachers who work in 12 different fishery and shipping vocational high schools around the country were surveyed. The findings of the fishery and maritime department teachers' recognition on the matter are as follows: First, the biggest impact the vocational education division in the CSAT had was on the promotion of continuing education and on the fulfillment on the vocational high school students' desire to compete and enter universities. Second, the CSAT with the vocational education division allowed students to choose a variety of paths after high school whether they be full-time employments or pursuing a degree in universities. Third, the biggest obstacle for the vocational education division in the CSAT is in the most metropolitan universities not honoring the CSAT scores as a criterion in the admission process.
A feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary fish meal replacement by a blend of lysine cell mass, corn protein concentrate and poultry by-product meal on the growth and blood chemistry of the starry flounder Platichthys stellatus. The fish meal replacer (FMR) was prepared to have the same level of protein as fish meal (FM). With a commercial diet as a positive control, five experimental diets (basal, FM42, FM32, FM22 and FM12) were formulated to contain 52% protein and 10% lipid. The dietary FM levels decreased from 52% (basal) to 42, 32, 22 and 12% with concomitant increase in the FMR to 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50%, respectively. Juvenile starry flounder with an average body weight of 177.3 g were randomly distributed in each (30 fish/tank) of 18 plastic tanks ($139{\times}99{\times}54cm$). After a 45-day feeding trial, the survival rate ranged from 95.6% (FM22) to 100% (control and FM42), while the weight gain of the fish groups varied from 49.7 to 58.4 g. The results clearly revealed that starry flounder can grow well on a diet containing low FM (12%) with a high level of FMR (50%) without any adverse effects.

Recently, many more fisheries and shipping high school students have entered college than those of the past. But, this trend could be attributed to the easy and various forms of selection for college admission. Thus the examinations of the college scholastic ability 2005 have added to the vocational search ability including verbal ability, mathematic ability, foreign language ability and inquiry ability. The vocational search ability in fisheries and shipping field is concluded the general fisheries science, general maritime science, general marine science and fisheries and shipping information management. This study analyzed the questions of the fisheries and shipping subject of vocational search field with high school 2nd students on October 2003. In result, this study identified some needed basic scholastic ability for fisheries and shipping high school students.
This paper describes evaluation procedures and experimental results for the estimation of Cumulative Distribution Functions (CDF) giving best-fit to the sample data in the Probability based risk Evaluation Techniques (PET) which is to assess the risks of a small-sized sea floater. The CDF in the PET is to provide the reference values of risk acceptance criteria which are to evaluate the risk level of the floater and, it can be estimated from sample data sets of motion response functions such as Roll, Pitch and Heave in the floater model. Using Maximum Likelihood Estimates and with the eight kinds of regulated distribution functions, the evaluation tests for the CDF having maximum likelihood to the sample data are carried out in this work. Throughout goodness-of-fit tests to the distribution functions, it is shown that the Beta distribution is best-fit to the Roll and Pitch sample data with smallest averaged probability errors $\bar{\delta}(0{\leq}\bar{\delta}{\leq}1.0)$ of 0.024 and 0.022, respectively and, Gamma distribution is best-fit to the Heave sample data with smallest $\bar{\delta}$ of 0.027. The proposed method in this paper can be expected to adopt in various application areas estimating best-fit distributions to the sample data.

Ship noise is one of the important factors for the living and health of seafarers, and ef orts to reduce ship noise are actively underway. There are two methods of noise reduction: passive noise Control (PNC) and active noise control (ANC). Unlike cars and airplanes, ANC is not widely used for noise reduction on ships. This study aimed to reduce the noise generated in the engine room by using soundproof panels and high-frequency vibration generators, as well as active noise control (ANC). For this purpose, an experimental model was made using an acrylic box, and the noise reduction effect was measured under four conditions. The experimental results are as follows: First, the soundproof panel had a noise reduction effect in all ranges from 55 dB to 85 dB. In the case of using a high-frequency vibration generator, there was no ef ect in the low noise range such as 55 dB(A), but there was a noise reduction effect in the high noise range such as 70.8 dB(A) and 85 dB(A).Second, when the soundproof panel and the high-frequency vibration generator were used simultaneously, the noise reduction ef ect was up to -2.2 dB(A). The results of this experiment were obtained from an experimental model made of acrylic, and they may be different from actual ships made of steel plate. In future studies, we plan to experiment using iron plate (considering the material, thickness, and structure) used in actual ships. We hope that this study will help to improve the living environment and health of seafarers on ships.
