This study was a qualitative study using Colaizzi's phenomenological study method to understand the experience of reconstructing life through hemodialysis in chronic renal failure patients and to clarify the meaning of their vivid experience. The participants were eight chronic renal failure patients receiving hemodialysis. Data were collected through individual in - depth interviews with participants. The five categories that were found in the study were 'The beginning of unexpected difficulties', 'Burden of survival brought on by hemodialysis', 'The driving force of recovery', 'Choices and concentration of today in order', ' Every day life which must be woven sincerely'. The results of this study will help clinicians better understand the physical and mental suffering experienced by patients with chronic renal failure receiving hemodialysis and how they are constantly trying to adapt to a changed lifestyle. Also it might provide basic data for the development of efficient nursing intervention for the health management of hemodialysis patients.

Purpose: Liver transplantation (LT) is the best treatment for patients with end-stage liver disease and most patients with LT return to their normal life. However, pregnancy and childbirth for women with LT are less common, mainly because it is considered to be dangerous for their health. The purpose of this study was to describe how Korean women after LT experience their pregnancy and childbirth. Methods: This study was designed to explore the experiences of pregnancy and childbirth of women with LT. Data were collected by individual in-depth interviews with four women who were pregnant and gave birth following LT in 2009. All interviews were audio-taped and transcribed verbatim. The transcribed data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: Four themes emerged as a result of analysis: recovery of lost feminity and marriage; fulfilling roles through pregnancy; life-risking pregnancy; and perfect family achieved by childbirth. These themes describe in detail about challenges and concerns the women with LT faced for their pregnancy and childbirth as well as many emotionally touching experiences. Conclusion: The results of this study would support health professionals to be better prepared to help women with LT for pregnancy and childbirth by providing in-depth and insightful information.

Results: In this study, the individual's educational background before entering the nursing school, school life, and life as a nurse after graduating from nursing school were defined. Conclusion: For most of the respondents, their educational background before entering nursing school was middle school. They studied very hard in poor surroundings. After graduation from a nursing school, they worked in hospitals, public health centers, midwifery centers, and schools. Half of the respondents had experience as a midwife. Their income as a midwife was relatively high at that time. They all had positive identities and lived a life devoted to the individual, society, and the nation.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to understand and explain the essences and structures of the experience of Korean women who have had a spinal cord injury. Methods: The data were collected in 2010 through individual in-depth interviews using open-ended questions. A total of 9 women with spinal cord injuries participated in the study. Each interview lasted about 2 hours. Verbatim transcripts were analyzed using phenomenological analysis. Results: Five theme clusters emerged from the analysis using Colaizzi's method: frozen mind with rigid body; shame due to restrictions of physical function and dependency; struggle to go back to the previous normal body; disabilities that are noticeable in everyday family life; rebirth by discarding the obsessions of the past. These theme clusters illustrate that although most participants faced very strange and unbearable situations in most aspects of life after the injury, they were empowered finally by finding their hope and by giving new meanings to the current existence. Conclusion: This study provides deep understanding of women with spinal cord injuries who are relatively alienated from society. Based on the results of the study, health professionals could develop effective nursing interventions to improve quality of life of these women.

The purpose is a qualitative study that explores the essential meaning of problems in the academic performance process with respect to college life targeting Nursing students in Mature-age students. The participants of this study were 15 students who were 4th graders from a university in K city, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and who had passion for learning and had an awareness of it. As for the data collection, the experiences related to the life of Mature-age students were written through interviews and self-reports within 48 hours of asking questions as a student. The collected data were analyzed using Krippendorff's phenomenological method. As a result of analyzing the experiences of Nursing students in Mature-age students, 34 meaningful statements in 4 categories and 14 topics were derived. The four categories were derived as 'endless hardship', 'the reason for being with them even at the end of the school year', 'the confidence to find slowly', and 'learning life in the academic process'. As a result of this study, it is expected that Adult Learners nursing students will be used as basic data for a program useful for stable and smooth college adaptation and nurturing healthy nursing professions in the future.
As the population ages, the life of women after menopause becomes much longer than the past, and the quality of life of old age becomes increasingly principal issue. There is a period that women experience the physical symptoms of menopause, although there are differences in degree, and the management of this period is a suitable time for women to improve their quality of life. According to the menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) and Timing Hypothesis, which has been proven in the Kronos Early Estrogen Prevention Study (KEEPS) and the Early vs Late Intervention Trial with Estradiol (ELITE) study, a relatively young woman before and after menopause can benefit from long-term beneficial effects such as prevention of osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease by early initiation of hormone therapy to alleviate menopausal symptoms. MHT should be considered for all women in healthy (without other important diseases) menopausal years, expecting to improve their quality of life through symptom relief in menopausal women and, in the long term, to prevent cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. When applying hormone therapy to individuals, it is necessary to establish various treatment strategies according to the menopausal symptoms of individual patients (individualization of treatment) and judge the suitability of clinical application.
Purpose: This study was performed to understand the characteristics and the meaning of the illness experience of breast cancer survivors as basic data for the development of an intervention program. Methods: The participants were 25 breast cancer survivors who had completed treatment at a tertiary hospital in Seoul. Data were collected through in-depth and unstructured audio-recorded interviews by the investigator. The participants were asked to describe their illness experience. The data were analyzed according to Giorgi's method for phenomenological analysis. Results: The interview data were organized by theme into 6 categories that emerged from the analysis. The themes were acceptance of the illness, active coping with reality, gaining strength through the support of surrounding people, struggling to overcome a negative mindset, self-reflection, and the pursuit of a meaningful new life. Conclusion: We recommend the development of a survivorship program based on self-reflection, which can engender self-transcendence and spiritual well-being.

Noting that compatibility beliefs are important antecedents of technology adoption, the objective of this study was to assess compatibility beliefs that affect users' intention to adopt a mobile entertainment service (MES). We developed a set of key compatibility beliefs: compatibility with life-style, compatibility with social meaning, and compatibility with past flow experiences. We then defined the key dimensions of each construct and developed operational measures for those dimensions. We tested the theorized effects of each of the compatibility constructs on MES adoption. The results support the effects of compatibility beliefs on users' intentions to adopt MES.
The purpose of this study was to examine the academic achievement and college life experience of students in Cambodia and to analyze the effects of college life experiences on academic achievement of college students in Cambodia. The questionnaire survey was conducted using the 'College Student Experiences Questionnaire (CSEQ)' questionnaire of 524 students from five universities in the city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The data were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. The results of this study showed that the experiences of college students 'Computer and Information Technology', 'Course Learning', 'Club and Organization' had positive effects on academic achievement. The implications of this study are as follows: First, colleges have to install more infrastructure for students to easily use computers and the Internet inside the school, and to provide programs to develop ICT skills to all students. Second, college-based efforts are needed to improve the quality of lectures for providing the students' knowledge and skills. Third, students' club and organization participation should be set up in college to find ways to improve students' academic achievement.
