Pain is subjective and greatly influenced by prior experiences, but it is real. Pain associated with an organic(objective) pathology is more easily explained and treated. However, atypical or unexplainable pain is usually a source of greater confusion and frustration. Pain may be divided into four general diagnostic categories. 1) pain with anatomic features and objective findings 2) pain with anatomic features and without objective findings 3) pain with non-anatomic features associated with stress and somatization 4) pain with non-anatomic features associated with perceived physical injury. There is a well-established relationship between emotional, physical and/or sexual abuse history and development of chronic pain. It has been suggested that the link between somatization and abuse involves a paradoxical pattern of hiding feelings and reality, while seeking acknowledgment of suffering. History of abuse may physiologically and developmentally increase a person's susceptability to pain and organic changes can be associated with psychogenic disease. Patients with chronic pain should be treated with multidisciplinary approaches including exercise, meditation, cognitive therapy, medications, and biofeedback. Cognitive therapy alters patient's cognition and management of pain and alleviates pain, especially associated with stress. Antidepressants are the most commonly used medications and pain control effects have no relation with mood changes. Biofeedback with relaxation training, exercise and meditation may also be effective in pain control.

The degree of mutual understanding between nursing students and instructors regarding simulation-based education remains unknown. The purpose of this study was to identify the subjectivity of nursing students and instructors about simulation-based learning, and was intended to expand the mutual understand by employing the co-orientation model. Q-methodology was used to identify the perspectives of 46 nursing students and 38 instructors. Perception types found among students in relation to simulation-based learning were developmental training seekers, instructor-dependent seekers, and learning achievement seekers. The instructors estimated the student perception types as passive and dependent, positive commitment, demanding role as facilitators, and psychological burden. Perception types found among instructors included nursing capacity enhancement seekers, self-reflection seekers, and reality seekers. The students classified the instructors' perception types as nursing competency seekers, learning reinforcement seekers, and debriefing-oriented seekers. As a result of the analysis of these relations in the co-orientation model, instructors identified psychological burden and passive and dependent cognitive frameworks among students; however, these were not reported in the students' perspectives. Likewise, the reality seekers type found among the perception types of instructors was not identified by the students. These findings can help develop and implement simulation-based curricula aimed at maximizing the learning effect of nursing students.
The early childhood education in Korea has made a great progress during the last thirty years. However, understanding the early childhood education is a challenging task because of the diversity of the fields. Currently 38% of 3-5 year old children are enrolled in kindergarten. And several efforts to develop and distribute the standard curricula on a national level were underwent successfully. Researches are rapidly expanding in volume and the topics are becoming diverse. Focuses of researches moved from the area of cognitive development, science and mathematics in 80s, social and emotional aspects in 90s to language, curriculum and teacher education in 2000s. One of the emerging issues is the inclusion of kindergarten to public education system and free kindergarten education for young children. The second issues is more interdisciplinary policies are in need related to the low-birth rate in nation. The third one is about teacher training policy. The fourth one is related to the health, nutrition and safety of young children. And the fifth issue is moving educational system and policies that provide better future of young children while focusing on the children in low income families and children with absolute poverty.

The last years have seen a rise of interest in using electroencephalography-based brain computer interfacing methodology for investigating non-medical questions, beyond the purpose of communication and control. One of these novel applications is to examine how signal quality is being processed neurally, which is of particular interest for industry, besides providing neuroscientific insights. As for most behavioral experiments in the neurosciences, the assessment of a given stimulus by a subject is required. Based on an EEG study on speech quality of phonemes, we will first discuss the information contained in the neural correlate of this judgement. Typically, this is done by analyzing the data along behavioral responses/labels. However, participants in such complex experiments often guess at the threshold of perception. This leads to labels that are only partly correct, and oftentimes random, which is a problematic scenario for using supervised learning. Therefore, we propose a novel supervised-unsupervised learning scheme, which aims to differentiate true labels from random ones in a data-driven way. We show that this approach provides a more crisp view of the brain states that experimenters are looking for, besides discovering additional brain states to which the classical analysis is blind.

Reading is a typical representative knowledge and information activities. It is a put of the presents man and by itself Read-learning is the cognitive and social activities of the creating platonic world. However, in the education training of students become a visible problems of read-learning too many. To solve the problems have to pull off a systematical plan in read activities. This aims to purpose the model of the union reading contents management as the method for the read activity based on the problems analysis of read-learning activity. It is reading contents management as the model knowledge cresting processes.
This paper aims to propose a method of detecting irregular pronunciations for Korean POI data adopting the notion of the Prosodic Word based on the Prosodic Phonology (Selkirk 1984, Nespor and Vogel 1986) and Intonational Phonology (Jun 1996). In order to show the performance of the proposed method, the detection experiment was conducted on the 250,000 POI data. When all the data were trained, 99.99% of the exceptional prosodic words were detected, which shows the stability of the system. The results show that similar ratio of exceptional prosodic words (22.4% on average) were detected on each stage where a certain amount of the training data were added. Being intended to be an example of an interdisciplinary study of linguistics and computer science, this study will, on the one hand, provide an understanding of Korean language from the phonological point of view, and, on the other hand, enable a systematic development of a multiple pronunciation lexicon for Korean TTS or ASR systems of high performance.
Study results in the last decades show that amount and quality of physical exercises, then the active participation, and now the cognitive involvement of patient in rehabilitation training are known of crux to enhance recovery outcome of motor dysfunction patients after stroke. Rehabilitation robots mainly have been developing along this direction to satisfy requirements of recovery therapy, or focusing on one or more of the above three points. Therefore, neuro-machine interaction based active rehabilitation robot has been proposed for assisting paralyzed limb performing designed tasks, which utilizes motor related EEG, UCSDI (Ultrasound Current Source Density Imaging), EMG for rehabilitation robot control and feeds back the multi-sensory interaction information such as visual, auditory, force, haptic sensation to the patient simultaneously. This neuro-controlled and perceptual rehabilitation robot will bring great benefits to post-stroke patients. In order to develop such kind of robot, some key technologies such as noninvasive precise detection of neural signal and realistic sensation feedback need to be solved. There are still some grand challenges in solving the fundamental questions to develop and optimize such kind of neuro-machine interaction based active rehabilitation robot.
This research is exploratory in considering the unique socio-cultural context of South Korea, where the present government is responding to the demand for English language training. The study asked the question: What do mothers experience when sending their young children to a private English institute, so called English kindergarten, instead of a regular preschool? A qualitative approach was used to analyze the in-depth interviews with 19 mothers who sent their young child to an English kindergarten. Mothers stated that their young child needs to be a competent English speaker. The mothers expected that an English kindergarten would prepare their child better for the elementary school English curriculum than a regular preschool. The study revealed that English kindergartens symbolized the precedence and the privileges of the elite because of their high tuition fees, native-speaker teachers, and small class sizes. The mothers showed a sense of pride and vicarious satisfaction from sending their child to an English kindergarten. However, the mothers recognized that English kindergartens put more emphasis on cognitive learning instead of the social development of children. It was almost impossible for mothers to communicate with the native-speaker teachers about their child. The mothers seemed to overlook their child's struggle to adapt to an English Kindergarten. The findings of the study raise issues concerning the boom of teaching young children English in Korea.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to review literature on anger management intervention programs for parents published over the last 10 years and to extract the key elements of the interventions through an integrative review. Methods: This research was carried out in stages following Whittemore and Knafl's integrative literature methodology. Key words in Korean and English were used to search the PubMed, MEDLINE, EMbase, CINAHL, RISS, KISS and National Assembly Library databases. Several intervention factors were extracted from the selected papers on the basis of the framework which was helpful to identify the intervention patterns and were classified into meaningful themes. Results: The extracted intervention factors from the final nine studies classified into four themes: 1) Modifying irrational beliefs through cognitive approaches, 2) Empowering parenting competencies through learning a parent's role, 3) Utilizing emotion management skills, and 4) Parent-child relationship improvement training based on self-reflection. Conclusion: Four main themes were drawn from the key components of the various interventions. These findings should be considered in practice, and further intervention development studies for parents using these findings should be conducted.
The 7th science curriculum has the characteristics of humanistic philosophy of education. The humanistic curriculum emphasized learner-centered education, which claims to stand for learners' experiences. This study searched for the significances of the 7th science curriculum, and discussed its tasks and perspectives based on the backgrounds, characteristics, and objectives mentioned in the history of reforming science curriculum. The 7th science curriculum emphasizes learners' experiences and everyday life materials are favored in teaching-learning activities. For the desirable effects related to this commitment, pre-service and in-service training programs are required about the social elements in the nature of science, and everyday life contexts should be examined in views of educational and cognitive perspectives, so the contextual differences between science and everyday life should be clarified.
