  • In order to meet the rapid development of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication needs, cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) helps to identify unused spectrum for the primary users (PU). However, multi-UAV mode (MUM) requires the large communication resource in a cognitive UAV network, resulting in a severe decline of spectrum efficiency (SE) and energy efficiency (EE) and increase of energy consumption (EC). On this account, we extend the traditional 2D spectrum space to 3D spectrum space for the UAV network scenario and enable UAVs to proceed with spectrum sensing behaviors in this paper, and propose a novel multi-slot mode (MSM), in which the sensing slot is divided into multiple mini-slots within a UAV. Then, the CSS process is developed into a composite hypothesis testing problem. Furthermore, to improve SE and EE and reduce EC, we use the sequential detection to make a global decision about the PU channel status. Based on this, we also consider a truncation scenario of the sequential detection under the sensing delay constraint, and further derive a closed-form performance expression, in terms of the CSS performance and cooperative efficiency. At last, the simulation results verify that the performance and cooperative efficiency of MSM outperforms that of the traditional MUM in a low EC.

  • Recently, the energy harvesting technology in which energy is collected from the wireless signal which is transmitted by mobile communication devices, has been considered as a novel way to improve the life time of wireless sensors by mitigating the lack of power supply problem. In this paper, we consider the optimal sensing time and power allocation problem for cognitive radio systems, where the energy efficiency of secondary user is maximized while the constraint are satisfied, using the optimization technique. Based on the derived optimal solutions, we also have proposed an iterative resource allocation algorithm in which the optimal power and sensing time allocation can be found without excessive computations. The simulation results confirm that the proposed scheme achieves the optimal performance and it outperforms the conventional resource allocation schemes in terms of energy efficiency while the constraints are guaranteed to be satisfied.

  • In cognitive radio sensor networks (CRSNs), secondary users (SUs) can occupy licensed bands opportunistically without causing interferences to primary users (PUs). SUs perform spectrum sensing to detect the presence of PUs. Sensing time is a critical parameter for spectrum sensing that can yield a tradeoff between sensing performance and secondary throughput. In this study, we investigate new approaches for spectrum sensing by exploring the tradeoff from a) spectrum sensing for PU detection (SSPD) and b) spectrum sensing for secondary throughput (SSST). In the proposed scheme, the first sensing result of the current frame determines the dynamic performance of the second spectrum sensing. Energy constraint in CRSNs leads to maximized network energy efficiency via optimization of sensing time. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme of SSPD and SSST improves network performance in terms of energy efficiency and secondary throughput, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences between the service providers and the users of 3PL services, in their perceptions about the qualities. The results of analysis identified five elements of the quality of 3PL services: reliability, efficiency, tangibility, responsiveness, and timeliness. The perceived importance and satisfaction showed the significant differences between 3PL service providers and the clients for all of the five elements. With respect to importance, efficiency showed the largest cognitive difference. Timeliness appeared to be the most important element perceived by both the service providers and the users. In terms of satisfaction, responsiveness indicated the biggest cognitive difference. In addition, it was noticed that the clients' satisfaction levels were particularly low, with respect to responsiveness and efficiency. It must be a strategic task of the 3PL service provider to improve customer satisfaction by reducing those cognitive differences.

  • Cognitive radio(CR) technique which utilizes empty frequency bands allocated to private business but not being used temporally has been researched. According to the standard, CR users detect the primary user using the same channel, CR users should move to the another channel to guarantee the primary user's decodability. Thus, CR systems cannot use the same channel and support the CR user's QoS(Quality of Service) during the channel moving time. In this paper, we propose a radio resource sharing method that CR basestation controls the transmission power with the primary user's SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) to increase the spectral efficiency of area and to minimize the outage of CR users. In addition, computer simulation demonstrates show that the proposed method improved spectral efficiency of area and decreased outage probability of CR users.

  • The energy efficiency of wireless infrastructure and terminals has been drawing renewed attention of late, due to their significant environmental cost. Emerging green communication paradigms such as cognitive radios, are also imposing the additional requirement of flexibility. This dual requirement of energy efficiency and flexibility poses new design challenges for implementing radio functional blocks. This paper focuses on the area vs. power trade-offs for the type of channel filters that are required in the digital frontend of a flexible, energy-efficient radio. In traditional CMOS circuits, increased area was traded for reduced dynamic power consumption. With leakage power emerging as the dominant mode of power consumption in nanoscale CMOS, these trade-offs must be revisited due to the strong correlation between area and leakage power. The current work discusses how the increased timing slacks obtained by increasing the parallelism can be exploited for overall power reduction even in nanoscale circuits. In this context the paper introduces the notion of 'area efficiency' and a metric for evaluating it. The proposed metric has also been used to compare the area efficiencies of different classes of time-shared filters.

  • Cognitive Radio is an intelligent interference avoidance idle spectrum communication system for your environment and actively determine the frequency bandwidth recycling by sharing the spectrum in a way that maximizes the efficiency of radio resource technology. At this time, this does not cause interference to the PU spectrum sensing technology is important. If you can choose, depending on the state of the channel spectrum sensing algorithm will be more efficient sensing. Matched filter detection system model that reflects the individual sensing through a fuzzy controller in this paper, energy detection and self-correlation detection are proposed and analyzed.

  • Spectrum allocation is a key operation in cognitive radio networks (CRNs), where secondary users (SUs) are usually selfish - to achieve itself utility maximization. In view of this context, much prior lit literature proposed spectrum allocation base on non-cooperative game models. However, the most of them proposed non-cooperative game models based on complete information of CRNs. In practical, primary users (PUs) in a dynamic wireless environment with noise uncertainty, shadowing, and fading is difficult to attain a complete information about them. In this paper, we propose a non-cooperative game joint hidden markov model scheme for spectrum allocation in CRNs. Firstly, we propose a new hidden markov model for SUs to predict the sensing results of competitors. Then, we introduce the proposed hidden markov model into the non-cooperative game. That is, it predicts the sensing results of competitors before the non-cooperative game. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the energy efficiency of networks and utilization of SUs.

  • CR technology is an intelligent technology which can sense the spectrum environment an adaptively adjust the parameters for wireless transmission. In this paper, by using CR-UWB, the spectrum efficiency of the transmission channel is largely improved; Furthermore, the interference to other system can be effectively avoided. In this paper, we propose a solution on interference problem of UWB system using cognitive radio. We use interference temperature model of cognitive radio that has proposed by FCC for estimating interference signal. Calculating channel capacity of UWB system with interference temperature, we suggest how to solve interference problem. We have used genetic algorithm in cognitive engine's calculation precess. The proposed UWB System with cognitive radio shows very efficient in solving interference problem.
