The aim of this study was to investigate upper and lower limb muscle activity using EMG(electromyogram) sensors while walking and identify normal gait pattern using FSR(force sensing resistor) sensor. Fifteen college students participated in this study and their EMG and FSR signal were measured during stopping and walking trials. EMG signals from upper(pectoralis major and trapezius) and lower limbs(rectus femoris, biceps femoris, vastus medialis, vastus lateralis, semimembranosus, semitendinosus, soleus, peroneus longus, gastrocnemius medialis, and gastrocnemius lateralis) were obtained using the surface electrodes. FSR measured pressures on 8 areas of the sole of the foot during walking. EMG results showed that all muscle activities except for vastus lateralis and semimembranosus during walking had higher amplitudes than stopping. Additionally, muscle activities associated with stance and swing phase during walking were identified. Results on FSR showed that stance and swing phases were detected by FSR signals during a gait cycle. Eight gait phases-initial contact, loading response, mid stance, terminal stance, pre swing, initial swing, mid swing, and terminal swing- were classified.
Purpose: This study was to develop an aromatherapy hand massage program, and to evaluate the effects of lavender aromatherapy on cognitive function, emotion, and aggressive behavior of elderly with dementia of the Alzheimer's type. Purpose: This study was designed to construct a model which explains drug misuse behaviors in community-dwelling older adults. Methods: The design of this research is a cross-sectional study using structure equation modeling. The hypothetical model consisted of two types of variables: the exogenous variables of health status, cognitive ability, and negative emotion, and the endogenous variables of number of drugs, and drug misuse behaviors. The data collection was conducted from September 2 to September 21, 2013 through self-report questionnaires. Participants were 320 community-dwelling adults over the age of 65 living in J city. Data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 program and Amos 18.0 program. Results: The results of the model fitness analysis were satisfied. The predictor variables for the hypothetical model explained 62.3% of variance regarding drug misuse behaviors. Drug misuse behaviors were directly affected by health status, cognitive ability, negative emotion and number of drugs and indirectly affected by health status, and negative emotion through number of drugs. Conclusion: These findings indicate factors that should be used in developing effective nursing interventions for safe and proper drug use and the prevention of drug misuse behaviors in community-dwelling older adults.
In general. social cognition for a disabled person seemed that he was limited aspects of emotion and psychology. Thus he was rejected. avoided. worthless and not accepted. People who have been raised in an ethnic collectivity often acquire from that experience not only basic conceps and attitudes toward health and illness but also fundamental styles of interpersonal behavior and concerns about the world. The effects of this enculuration carryover into health- care situation and also become an important influence on personal activities devoted to health maintenance and disease prevention. Our Korean culture is a state of tradition Confucianism. respects his honor and external feature. Therefore recognition of a disabled person is more specipic. This study uses Walker and Avant's process of concept analysis. The concep of recognition of disabilty can be defined as follows : Recognition of disability is a person's conscious process of sensation. perception. memory and thought and is constructed from value. attitude. emotion and expierince which is dynamics. and in everyday life is feeling that basic activity is not free and occurs interaction of envionment. Attributes of disability recognition are defined as 1) It is feeling that basic activity of his daily life is not free in everyday life. 2) It is a person's conscious process of sensation. perception. memory and thought. 3) It occurs interaction of enviornment. 4) It is constructed from value. attitude. emotion and experience. 5) it is dynamics ( changing but not stasis). In this paper, it's a system which recognize the user's emotions after obtaining the biological informations(pulse sensor, blood pressure sensor, blood sugar sensor etc.) about user's bio informations through wireless sensors in accordance of previously collected informations about user's stress index and classification the Colors & Music. This system collects the inputs, saves in the database and finally, classifies emotions according to the stress quotient by using multiple SVM(Support Vector Machine) algorithm. The experiment of multiple SVM algorithm was conducted by using 2,000 data sets. The experiment has approximately 87.7% accuracy.
The following result are obtained through that comparative study on the psychotherapy of oriental and occidental medicine. 1. The shamanism(祝由) and active emotion therapy(移精變氣療法) are a primitive form of psychotherapy. It is an opinion that between active emotion therapy(移精變氣療法) and psychoanalytic therapy or supportive psychotherapy are similar. Also, the basic cognition pattern of shamanism(祝由) is projection. 2. Taoism is inseparably related to the psychotherapy of korean oriental medicine, the major thought has become the ideal base of oriental psychotherapy. 3. According to study of clinical document in relation to oriental psychotherapy, psychotherapy had been widely used by medical cure. 4. The five emotion restraint therapy is a high level psychotherapy of oriental medicine. Oriental psychotherapy that disease caused by surprising must be cure by surprising is like to systematic desensitization in western, and that pseudopsychosis must be cure by patient rely on doctor is like to suggestive therapy in western. 5. There are psychotherapy in western that Supportive psychotherapy, Short-term dynamic psychotherapy, Psychoanalytic therapy, Group psychotherapy, Family therapy, Morita therapy, Hypnotherapy, Autogenic training, Behavioral therapy, Milieu therapy, Occupational therapy, Psychodrama, the others. I think that they have wide application to the psychotherapy of korean oriental medicine.
Amazon Go is a cashierless convenience store concept, which is seen as a disruption in the grocery retail segment. Although Amazon Go has the ability to disrupt the retail segment, there are speculations on how Amazon Go will be perceived by users. Existing studies have not utilized user-generated content to understand the factors that affect customer behaviour in case of Amazon Go. Additionally, in case of phygital retail, studies have not attempted at understanding the effect of emotions and gratifications on user behaviour. To address the gap of exploring user perspectives based on their experience, we have examined the impact of gratifications and emotions on the acceptance of phygital retail using user-generated-content. A mixed-method approach has been utilized using only user-generated content. Utilizing topic-modelling based content analysis and emotion analysis on 30 articles related to Amazon Go, we found themes like, convenience, technology, experience, personalization, enjoyment and emotions like, bad, good, annoyance, success. In the empirical analysis, we have utilized 522 reviews about Amazon Go from the cognition and emotion theory stance, and found that hedonic gratifications have a positive impact on challenge emotions. We also found a significant impact of emotions on customer's favourite behaviour.
It is necessary for young children to integrate the sense of sight, hearing, touch, etc. for developing their emotion and cognition. Thanks to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development, young children have more opportunities to use various senses in learning process. However, ICT learning method is more focusing on the sense of sight and hearing, and lacks of integrated recognition and this fact leads to the reason why ICT can not be used as a main education tool. Therefore, this study evaluated the influence of wUbi-Pen(haptic device) on cognition using a computer puzzle program. The results show that young children using a haptic pen have greater intention and performance in object assembly, mazes, picture completion in K-WPPSI test than those of non-using haptic pen. This implies that haptic function should be considered in ICT material and indeed useful in various cognition-related symptoms and diseases.
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between activities of daily living and health-related quality of life in ambulatory stroke patients. This was a cross-sectional survey study of 60 patients who had survived one year or more after a stroke in community. Activities of daily living were assessed using the Functional Independence Measure (FlM) and health-related quality of life using the Stroke Impact Scale (SIS). The association between FIM and SIS was examined using Pearson' s correlation. The FIM score was higher than the SIS score. Most domains of FIM exhibited a high rate (45-85%) of ceiling effects. However, only the communication and memory domain of SIS exhibited of ceiling effects. The correlation coefficients were .835 (p<.01) for FIM-motor vs. SIS-ADL, .257 (p<,05) for FIM-motor vs. SIS-communication, .596 (p<.01) for FIM-motor vs. SIS-social participation, .635 (p<.01) for FIM-cognition vs. SIS-memory, .369 (p<.01) for FIM-cognition vs. SIS-ADL, and .289 (p<.05) for FlM-cognition vs. SIS-social participation. In conclusion, the correlation between FIM-motor and SIS-social participation was higher than that of FlM-cognition and SIS-social participation. The domains of emotion and hand function of SIS showed no correlation coefficients with FIM-total. To examine the activities of daily living and the quality of life in ambulatory stroke patients in community, it is necessary to use both the FIM and SIS.
Graphic and sounds are mainly used for presenting digital content as general. It has been reported that the reality of digital contents was improved by adding haptic factor to the contents of graphic and sounds. Therefore, various haptic system have recently been developed for implementing haptic sensation into digital contents. However, the delay of haptic display sometimes happens due to low hardware performance and causes to deteriorate reality of digital contents. The delay effect on reality has been important to be determined for presenting digital contents with haptic system. Therefore, this study is to find the effect on user's cognition of digital contents evoking both visual and haptic sensation. Eight university students performed 4 repetitive tasks of pushing cube under the two conditions of visual and haptic delay. The delay time of each condition were set 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 4.0 second. As the result, both haptic and visual delay were negatively influenced user's recognition while visual delay showed more dominant effect on user's recognition than haptic delay.
