병렬기구형 틸팅 테이블 및 RAD Tool 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on Development of Parallel-Typed Tilting Table and RAD Tool Program)

  • In this paper, we develop a six-axes machining center tool(MCT) and CAD/CAM system based RAD Tool Program. The MCT consists of two mechanical parts, i.e., a X-Y-Z Cartesian coordinate typed MCT and a parallel-typed tilting table. Kinematics and singularity are accomplished to design the parallel-typed tilting table, and RAD Tool Program Is developed for the six-axes MCT, which requires the commands of position as well as orientation for machining of complex shape. In RAD Tool, the CAD/CAM system has a tool path generator, NC code generator and a graphic simulator. This paper designs the parallel-typed tilting table to meet the desired specification and presents the results of CAD/CAM system based RAD Tool Program.

A Review on Structural Behavior, Design, and Application of Ultra-High-Performance Fiber-Reinforced Concrete

  • An overall review of the structural behaviors of ultra-high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) elements subjected to various loading conditions needs to be conducted to prevent duplicate research and to promote its practical applications. Thus, in this study, the behavior of various UHPFRC structures under different loading conditions, such as flexure, shear, torsion, and high-rate loads (impacts and blasts), were synthetically reviewed. In addition, the bond performance between UHPFRC and reinforcements, which is fundamental information for the structural performance of reinforced concrete structures, was investigated. The most widely used international recommendations for structural design with UHPFRC throughout the world (AFGC-SETRA and JSCE) were specifically introduced in terms of material models and flexural and shear design. Lastly, examples of practical applications of UHPFRC for both architectural and civil structures were examined.

일본공업규격 '정보교환용한자부호-보조한자'에 포함된 일본한자에 대한 연구 (A study on the Chinese characters originated in Japanese industrial standard (JIS * 0212))

  • This study investigates Japanese-made Chinese Characters in JIS X 0212-1990(Code of the Su n.0, pplementary Japanese Graphic Character Set for Information Interchange). As a results of detailed investigation, it is found that the number of Japanese-made Chinese Characters in su n.0, pplementary set reaches to 69 characters. Among them, 29 characters are not listed even in the best known chinese character dictionary [대한화사전]. 30 characters are found in the chinese character dictionaries published in Korea, while 39 characters are not found in any of those dictionaries. The distinctive characteristic of Japanese-made Chinese characters is that those chinese characters are made in order to name the things, such as fishes, birds, trees, which do not have Chinese-made Chinese Characters.

  • Aparallel computing environment was constructed based on Windows 2000 operating system. This cluster was configured using Fast-Ethernet system to hold up together the clients within a network domain. For the parallel computation, MPI implements for Windows such as MPICH.NT.1.2.2 and MP-MPICHNT.1.2 were used with Compaq Visual Fortran compiler which produce a well optimized executives for x86 systems. The evaluation of this cluster performance was carried out using a preconditioned Navier-Stokes code for the 2D analysis of a compressible and viscous flow around a compressor blade. The parallel performance was examined in comparison with those of Linux clusters studied previously by changing a number of processors, problem size and MPI libraries. The result from the test problems presents that parallel performance of the low cost Fast-Ethernet Windows cluster is superior to that of a Linux cluster of similar configuration and is comparable to that of a Myrinet cluster.

가상 기구설계 시뮬레이터에 관한 연구 (A Study on Virtual Machine Design Simulator)

  • This paper presents a virtual machine design simulation program. Kinematics of various mechanisms can be modeled with 3 dimensional geometry and actuators. CAD data for any machine component can be easily imported in STL format. Machine components are assembled with kinematic joints simply by drag and drop function in virtual graphic simulator. Interference and collision of any component with other components can be identified during the motion simulation. Graphic user interface program is developed using Microsoft Direct X code. A precision micro stage system is demonstrated with the proposed virtual machine design simulator.

  • 본 논문에서는 CDMA(Code Division Mutiple Access) 단말기의 상태를 점검하고 제어하는 DM(Diagnostic Monitor) 기능을 CDMA 무선망인 IS-95/A/B/C 및 1X 무선망을 이용하여 사용 할 수 있도록 제안하였다. 기존의 방식은 필드에서 사용중인 단말기의 A/S 또는 필드의 상황 파악을 위해 단말기 개발자가 장비를 가지고 그곳으로 가야하는 시간적, 공간적인 한계가 있었다. 이를 보완하기 위해서 CDMA 무선망에서 SMS(Short Message Service) 프로토콜을 이용하여 원격으로 단말기 상태점검 및 제어, 기지국과 단말기간의 인터페이스 유지보수 등을 할 수 있는 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안된 프로토콜을 이용한 실험을 통하여 실제 필드에서 단말기를 제어하는 것과 동일한 제어가 가능하고 필드 환경 상태를 직접 가지 않고도 알아낼 수 있는 등 단말기 개발 및 유지보수에 많은 이득을 가져다 줄 수 있음을 입증한다.

Ballistic Resistance of an Armor Ceramic Structure against a Shaped Charge Jet As a Function of Penetration Depth

  • The ballistic capability of an alumina-rich oxide armor ceramic against a shaped jet was characterized as a function of penetration depth in a layered target structure. The penetration resistance of the ceramic, based upon the determination of penetration velocity, was not equally realized throughout the depth of penetration. It was abnormally low at an early stage of penetration, followed by a sudden increase to reach ~16GPa thereafter. There was no apparent change in such a profile with respect to the lateral size of the specimen. Based upon 2-D flash x-ray radiography and 3-D Hull code simulation, the feasibility of forming a pressure-induced predamnaged zone in front of the jet tip was speculated to foster an increased penetration velocity in the initial stage penetration, resulting in the diminished penetration resistance. The disappearance of such a predamaged zone with penetration was interpreted to restore the resistance of the ceramic in the later penetration stage.

  • We developed a model of NC controller with IBM-PC as a host cpu and integlligent NC servo controller for 2 axes that can be expaned to 4 axes. Basic conceptions, including hardware structure design, servo controller design, communication protocol, and interpolation hardware design was already publicated on '87 KIEE conference. Following this, we focussed on the emulation of tyhe controller with X-Y table as complete NC machine experimenting some drawings made by NC code program that can be edited and executed in automatic on single step mode. In addition we designed the M.S.T functions with PLC and tested for M-function timing. Finally, we designed NC interface to fit with M-function output and we contructed total system of NC controller with IBM PC host with the result of successful development of new NC model.

마이크로컴퓨터를 이용한 온-라인 측정 시스템의 개발 (Development of microcomputer-based on-line measurement system.)

  • An inexpensive and very simple microcomputer-aided measurement system has been designed for on-line experiments, which perform simultaneously data acquisition, data recorditing, calculations with the data, and positioning of necessary sensors. Interfacting between the microcomputer and the data acquisition board which consists of A/D converter, analog multiplexer, and sample-and-holder, etc. has been done through IEEE-488 interface port and parallel user port both provided by the PET computer's main logic board. Data and control signals are transfered between devices without handshaking. By utilizing BASIC commands PEEK, POKE, SYS, USR which are offered by PET microcomputer, it is possible to link machine code subroutines into the main BASIC program. This facilitates ease of data transfer, programming, and speedy execution of the program. In addition, an X-Y scanning table has been concected to the system in order to automatically position measuring sensors along a pre-determined path of interest.

  • This paper presents a comparative study of finite element method (FEM) and analytical method for the plane problem of a layered composite containing an internal perpendicular crack in literature. The layered composite consists of two elastic layers having different elastic constants and heights. External load is applied to the upper elastic layer by means o a rigid punch and the lower elastic layer rests on two simple supports. Numerical simulations are realized by the world wide code ANYS software. Two dimensional analysis of the problem is carried out and the results are verified by comparison with solutions reported in literature. Main goal of the numerical simulation is to investigate the normal stress ${\sigma}_x$(0, y), stress intensity factors at the crack factor and the crack opening displacements.
