상관 함수의 기울기 차에 기반한 GNSS의 부호 추적 기법 (A GNSS Code Tracking Scheme Based in Slope Difference of Correlation Outputs)

  • 위성 항법 시스템은 (global navigation satellite system, GNSS) 통신 물리계층으로 직접 수열 확산 대역 (direct sequence/spread spectrum, DS/SS) 시스템을 사용하고 있다. DS/SS 시스템은 확산된 정보를 복원하기 위해 한 칩 (chip) 또는 그 이하로 동기를 맞추는 획득 단계와 정확한 동기를 결정하고 유지하는 추적 단계를 수행한다. 가장 널리 알려진 추적 기법은 상관 값의 대칭성을 이용해 부호를 추적하는 $\Delta$-DLL이다 (single delta delay lock loop). 여기서, $\Delta$는 이른-늦은 상관 값의 상관 시간 옵셋 간격을 뜻한다. $\Delta$-DLL은 이상적인 환경에서 최적 부호 추적 기법이다. 그러나 이 기법은 다중경로 환경에서 상관 함수의 대칭성이 깨짐으로 인해 판별기 출력이 비대칭으로 나타나기 때문에 큰 추적 편이를 갖는다. 추적 편이는 정착한 동기 시점과 추적이 완료되어 결정한 동기 시점의 차이를 의미한다. 이러한 추적 편이를 감소시키기 위한 기법으로 작은 $\Delta$를 사용한 $\Delta$-DLL과 두 개의 $\Delta$-DLL을 조합한 ${\Delta}^{(2)}$-DLL이 (double delta DLL) 제안되었다. 그러나 두 기법 모두 여전히 추적 편이가 존재하며, 작은 $\Delta$를 사용하기 때문에 추적 단계의 동적 영역이 줄어들어 정확한 획득 단계가 요구되는 단점을 갖고 있다. 본 논문에서는 추적 편이를 효과적으로 줄이면서도 정확한 획득 단계가 요구되지 않는 상관 값의 최대 기울기 변화에 기반한 추적 편이 감소 기법을 제안한다.

  • According to the GPS modernization, L5 is the third civilian GPS signal, broadcasts in a radio band reserved exclusively for aviation safety services. However, as the code length of GPS L5 is ten times longer than that of GPS L1, the acquisition processing time in GPS L5 takes longer than that of L1. This characteristics make the code phase detected initially change and cause the tracking loop to unlock. In order to overcome this problem, this paper proposes L5 acquisition schemes for the rapid code phase re-search and the fine doppler determination. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is demonstrated through the simulation results.

Blind Adaptive Multiuser Detection for the MC-CDMA Systems Using Orthogonalized Subspace Tracking

  • In this paper, we study the performance of subspace-based multiuser detection techniques for multicarrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems. We propose an improvement in the PASTd algorithm by cascading it with the classical Gram-Schmidt procedure to orthonormalize the eigenvectors after their sequential extraction. The tracking of signal subspace using this algorithm, which we call OPASTd, has a faster convergence as the eigenvectors are orthonormalized at each discrete time sample. This improved PASTd algorithm is then used to implement the subspace blind adaptive multiuser detection for MC-CDMA. We also show that, for multiuser detection, the complexity of the proposed scheme is lower than that of many other orthogonalization schemes found in the literature. Extensive simulation results are presented and discussed to demonstrate the performance of the proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, an effective repeat-back jamming (RBJ) mitigation scheme known assuccessive repeat-back jamming cancellation (SRC) is proposed for the utilization of the successive interference cancellation (SIC) algorithm which is used to mitigate the near-far effect and the multiple-access interference for code division multiple-access communication systems. The proposed scheme uses a combined pseudo-random noise (C-PRN) signal from the estimated major parameters of RBJ signals. To evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, the root mean squared (RMS) code tracking errors are shown according to the standard deviation of the parameter estimation errors of an RBJ signal, and using the well-known major parameters estimation schemes with a C-PRN signal through Monte-Carlo simulation.

A New Flux Tracking LVRT Control Scheme for Doubly Fed Induction Generators

  • Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) systems widely used globally are highly sensitive to the grid disturbance due to the structure that the stator is connected to the grid. In the past, when a grid fault occurs in order to prevent a system, generators are separated from the grid regardless of the fault duration time. Recently, however, the grid connection standards(Grid Code)says that for the failures removed within a certain time, the generator remains operation without separating from the grid. This paper proposes a new flux tracking LVRT(Low-Voltage Ride Through) control based on system modeling equations. The validity of the proposed strategy has been demonstrated by computer simulations.

Operation Scheme for a Wind Farm to Mitigate Output Power Variation

  • Because of the nature of wind, the output power of wind turbines fluctuates according to wind speed variation. Therefore, many countries have set up wind-turbine interconnection standards usually named as Grid-Code to regulate the output power of wind farms to improve power system reliability and power quality. This paper proposes three operation modes of wind farms such as maximum power point tracking (MPPT) mode, single wind turbine control mode and wind farm control mode to control the output power of wind turbines as well as overall wind farms. This paper also proposes an operation scheme of wind farm to alleviate power fluctuation of wind farm by choosing the appropriate control mode and coordinating multiple wind turbines in consideration of grid conditions. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified via simulation studies in PSCAD/EMTDC with doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) based wind turbine models.

  • A vector DLL represents signal tracking scheme utilizing navigation results, and it has been known that it has better performance than a conventional scalar DLL. This paper discusses the structure and conceptual benefits of the vector DLL, and describes implementation of the vector DLL in a software GPS receive. Also, the benefits of the vector DLL are confirmed by an experiment. Through the experiment, the code tracking accuracy between the vector DLL and a scalar DLL implementation is compared in static environments, and the navigation accuracy is analyzed using GPS signals received from a commercial GPS simulator.

  • 본 논문에서는 2.4 GHz대역에서 54 MbPs 고속 데이터 전송이 가능한 IEEE 802.11g 무선 LAN 시스템에서 사용되는 변조 방식인 CCK(Complementary Code Keying)의 클럭 동기에 대해서 연구했다. 수신단에서는 잡음 또는 페이딩에 의해 클럭 주파수 오차가 발생한다. 이 주파수 오차는 클럭 타이밍 오프셋을 발생시켜 ISI(InterSymbol Intorference)의 원인이 된다. 그러므로 클럭 타이밍 오프셋을 줄이기 위해서는 트렉킹이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 클럭 트렉킹을 위해 비동기 방식인 DLL(Delay Lock Loop)방식을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. AWCN 환경과 실외 다중경로 페이딩 채널환경에 대한 지터 분산과 이에 따른 BER 성능을 비교한다.

Diffusive Shock Acceleration with Self-Consistent Injection

  • A numerical scheme that incorporates a self-consistent cosmic-ray (CR, hereafter) injection model into the combined gas dynamics and CR diffusion-convection code has been developed. The hydro/CR code can follow in a very cos-effective way the evolution of CR modified shocks by adopting subzone shock-tracking and multi-level Adaptive Mesh Refinement techniques. The injection model is based on interactions of the suprathermal particles with self-generated MHD waves in quasi-parallel shocks. The particle injection is followed numerically by filtering the diffusive flux of suprathermal particles across the shock to upstream region according to a velocity-dependent transparency function, which represents the fraction of leaking suprathermal particles. In the strong shock limit of Mach numbers $\ge$20, significant physical processes such as the injection and acceleration seem to become independent of M, while they are sensitively dependent on M for M < 10. Although some particles injected early in the evolution continue to be accelerated to higher energies, the postshock CR pressure reaches a time asymptotic value due to balance between acceleration and diffusion of the CR particles.

2차원 쐐기형 구조물의 슬래밍 현상에 대한 수치 유동해석 (Numerical Simulation of Slamming Phenomena for 2-D Wedges)

  • Numerical analysis for slamming impact phenomena has been carried out when 2-dimensional wedge shaped structure with finite deadrise angles enter the free surface by using a commertial CFD code, FLUENT. Fluid is assumed incompressible and entry speed of the structure is kept constant. Geo-reconstruct scheme (or PLIC-VOF scheme) is used for the tracking of the deforming free surface. User defined function of 6 degrees of freedom motion and moving dynamic mesh option are used for the expression of the downward motion of the structure and deforming of unstructured meshes adjacent to the structure. The magnitude and the location of impact pressure and the total drag force which is the summation of pressures distributed at the bottom of the structure are analyzed. Results of the analysis show good agreement with the results of similarity solution, asymptotic solution and the solution of BEM.
