The present investigation deals with the analysis of wave motion in the layer of an anisotropic, initially stressed, fiber reinforced thermoelastic medium. Secular equations for symmetric and skew-symmetric modes of wave propagation in completely separate terms are derived. The amplitudes of displacements and temperature distribution were also obtained. Finally, the numerical solution was carried out for Cobalt and the dispersion curves, amplitudes of displacements and temperature distribution for symmetric and skew-symmetric wave modes are presented to evince the effect of anisotropy. Some particular cases are also deduced.
P/M high speed steels with various Co contents were fabricated by gas atomization and Canning/HIP process. As Co content in P/M high speed steel increased, hardness, transverse rupture strength and yield strength in compressive testing increased due to solid solution hardening of Co in matrix. Especially, PM high speed steels with Co have high deformation resistance to repeated compressive loading.
Single particle of nickel hydroxide and the surface-treated one with cobalt element were performed to review the effect of LiOH additive in alkaline electrolyte for Ni-MH batteries using microelectrode test system. As a result of cyclic voltammetry, the electrochemical behaviors such as the oxidation/reduction and oxygen evolution reaction are clearly observed for a single particle of nickel hydroxide, respectively. Furthermore, the reduction current peak of nickel hydroxide added with LiOH in electrolyte was very low and broad compared with the normal nickel hydroxide without an additive LiOH, which had a bad effect to the crystallization structure of nickel hydroxide. However, it was found that capacity and cycle properties of the nickel hydroxide treated with cobalt greatly increased by the addition of LiOH.
The effect of transition metal ion exchange into UZM-9 zeolite with LTA framework on its deactivation in methanol-to-olefin (MTO) conversion was discussed. The ion exchange of copper, cobalt, nickel, and iron did not induce any notable change in the crystallinity, crystal morphology, and acidity of UZM-9. The small cage entrance of UZM-9 caused the high selectivity to lower olefins in the MTO conversion, while its large cages allowed the rapid further cyclecondensation of active intermediates, polymethylbenzenes including hexamethylbenzene, resulting in a rapid deactivation. The UZM-9 containing copper and cobalt ions showed considerably slow deactivations. The interaction between transition metal ions and polymethylbenzene cation radicals, the active intermediates, generated in the MTO conversion stabilized the radicals and slowed down the deactivation of UZM-9.

The characteristics of the metal melting and radionuclide distribution of the radioactive has been investigated in a lab-scale arc furnace. The slag former based on the constituents of silica, calcium oxide, aluminum oxide, borate and calcium fluoride additions was used for melting of the stainless and carbon steel. In the melting of the stainless steel, the amount of slag formation increased with an increase of the concentration of the slag former. But the effects of the slag basicity on the amount of stag formation showed a local maximum value of the slag formation with an increase of the basicity index in the melting of the stainless steel as well as in the melting of the carbon steel. With an increase of the amount of slag former addition, the trends of the cobalt distribution into the ingot and the stag depended on the kind of slag former used in the melting of the stainless steel while the effect of the slag basicity on the distribution of the cobalt was not clarified in the melting of carbon steel. Tn the melting of the carbon steel, the strontium was captured at up to $50\%$ into the slag phase. Cesium was completely eliminated from the melt of the stainless steel as well as the carbon steel and distributed to the dust phase.
The thermal degradation of ABS/PC/triphenyl phosphate compounds in the presence of transition metal chloride catalysts has been studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The reaction of transition metal chloride catalysts (cobalt chloride, ferric chloride, nickel chloride and zinc chloride) and ABS/PC/triphenyl phosphate compounds has been found to occur during the thermal degradation of the compounds. In a nitrogen atmosphere, char formation is observed, and $3\~13\%$of the reaction product is non-volatile at $600^{circ}$. The resulting enhancement of char formation in a nitrogen atmosphere has been explained as a catalytic crosslinking effect of transition metal chloride catalysts. On the other hand, transition metal chloride catalyzed char formation of ABS/PC/triphenyl phosphate compounds in air was unsuccessful due to the oxidative degradation of the char at a higher temperature.
In order to investigate the effect of cobalt-60 gamma irradiation on the blood picture, the mice were subjected to single whole-body gamma irradiation externally. In this experiment 42 of 12 weeks old white mice were used and animals were allotted to group of three. On of chose groups served as control and the others as test groups that were exposed to single dose of 370 Rads (group I) and 500 Rads (group II). The exposure dose rate were averaged 33 Rads per Minute. The results obtained in this experiment were as follows: 1. Erythrocyte counts in both test groups dropped to the lowest level at 4 weeks postirradiation, returning towards the control level, but in recovery, group I showed rather prumpt compared with group II. Erythrocyte count in group II was significantly lower than that of group I. 2. Total leukocyte counts dropped to the lowest loved at 2 weeks postirradiation and group I recovered to normal level at 4 weeks postirradiation. Recovery group II was very slow and it reached to the control level on 12 weeks postirradiation. Leukocyte count was significantly different between group I and II. 3. Neutrophil count was increased to the highest level at 2 weeks postirradiation, with recovery to normal value after 8 weeks in group I and 12 weeks in group II, respectively. Neutrophil count was significantly different between group I and II. 4. Lymphocyte count dropped to the lowest level at 2 weeks postirradiation, with recovery to normal average after 8 weeks in group I and 12 weeks in group II, respectively. Lymphocyte count was significantly different between group I and II. 5. The other leukocyte count was increased after the irradiation and recovered at 12 weeks postirradiation in both test groups. The other leukocyte count was significantly different between group I and II.
Activities of nanostructure HZSM-5 and Co-ZSM-5 catalysts (with different Co-loading) for catalytic conversion of ethyl acetate and toluene were studied. The catalysts were prepared by wet impregnation method and were characterized by XRD, BET, SEM, TEM and ICP-AES techniques. Catalytic studies were carried out inside a U-shaped fixed bed reactor under atmospheric pressure and different temperatures. Toluene showed lower reactivity than ethyl acetate for conversion on Co-ZSM-5 catalysts. The effect of Co loading on conversion was prominent at temperatures below $400^{\circ}C$ and $450^{\circ}C$ for ethyl acetate and toluene respectively. In a binary mixture of organic compounds, toluene and ethyl acetate showed an inhibition and promotional behaviors respectively, in which the conversion of toluene was decreased at temperatures above $350^{\circ}C$. Inhibition effect of water vapor was negligible at temperatures above $400^{\circ}C$. An artificial neural networks model was developed to predict the conversion efficiency of ethyl acetate on Co-ZSM-5 catalysts based on experimental data. Predicted results showed a good agreement with experimental results. ANN modeling predicted the order of studied variable effects on ethyl acetate conversion, which was as follows: reaction temperature (50%) > ethyl acetate inlet concentration (25.085%) > content of Co loading (24.915%).

With petroleum reserves dwindling, interest has been increasing worldwide in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FT) as a method of producing synthetic liquid fuels and chemicals from coal, natural gas or biomass. In general, FT synthesis is operated through the gas phase fixed-bed reaction system. Recently, there are lots of study in supercritical fluid due to unique characteristics such as the quick diffusion of reactant gas, effective removal of reaction heat, and the in-situ extraction of high molecular weight hydrocarbon, such as wax. In this study, our major aim is to obtain a deeper insight into the effect of the type of support on the reaction performance over a supported cobalt catalyst in a fixed bed reactor.
In this study, the effects of Co content on the microstructure and Charpy impact properties of Fe-Cr-W ferritic/martensitic oxide dispersion strengthened (F/M ODS) steels are investigated. F/M ODS steels with 0-5 wt% Co are fabricated by mechanical alloying, followed by hot isostatic pressing, hot-rolling, and normalizing/tempering heat treatment. All the steels commonly exhibit two-phase microstructures consisting of ferrite and tempered martensite. The volume fraction of ferrite increases with the increase in the Co content, since the Co element considerably lowers the hardenability of the F/M ODS steel. Despite the lowest volume fraction of tempered martensite, the F/M ODS steel with 5 wt% Co shows the highest micro-Vickers hardness, owing to the solid solution-hardening effect of the alloyed Co. The high hardness of the steel improves the resistance to fracture initiation, thereby resulting in the enhanced fracture initiation energy in a Charpy impact test at - 40℃. Furthermore, the addition of Co suppresses the formation of coarse oxide inclusions in the F/M ODS steel, while simultaneously providing a high resistance to fracture propagation. Owing to these combined effects of Co, the Charpy impact energy of the F/M ODS steel increases gradually with the increase in the Co content.
