방조제 건설 중인 2001-2002년 새만금 하구역 어류 종조성의 계절 변동 (Seasonal Variation in Species Composition of Fish in the Estuary of Saemangeum Waters during the Construction of a Dike in 2001-2002)

  • Seasonal variation in species composition of fish in the estuary of Saemangeum water in the western coast of Korea was determined using seasonal samples collected by an otter trawl from April 2001 to February 2002. Species compositions did not differ significantly among the 4 stations (p>0.05, Wilcoxon signed-rank test). The cumulative number of species and species diversity (H') approached asymptote after four 30-min trawl hauls. Therefore 30-min trawl samples from each of the four stations were pooled to represent each season. A total of 45 species 2758 individuals and 30,346.8 g of fish were collected during the study period. Of the fish collected Leiognathus nuchalis, Synechogobius hasta, Neosalanx jordani, Konosirus punctatus and Chaeturichthys stigmatias predominated in abundance accounting for $68\%$ of the total number of individuals. Seasonal variation of fish abundance showed a similar trend to those of the other western coastal waters of Korea. The resident species were collected only in spring and autumn. Number of species and biomass were highest in summer due to the catch of many migrating species. In winter catch amount was low, and only 7 species were collected.. Brackish water fishes were more abundant in the study area, and Johnius grypotus and Cynoglossus joyneri were not premominated compared to the other coastal waters. This difference in species compositions may be related to the lower salinity in this estuarine habitat than in the other western coastal waters of Korea.

한국산 놀래기과 어류의 분류학적 검토 (Taxonomical Review of the Korean Labroidei (Teleostei: Perciformes))

  • The perciform suborder Labroidei comprising six families (Cichlidae, Embiotocidae, Pomacentridae, Labridae, Odacidae, and Scaridae) are characterized by having the specialized pharyngeal jaws for food processing, i.e., united fifth ceratobranchials and upper pharyngeal jaw articulating with the basicranium via diarthroses (Stiassny and Jensen, 1987). They usually inhabit in the most tropical and subtropical seas and comprise about 235 genera and roughly 2,274 species worldwide (Nelson, 2006). Concerning the Korean labroid fishes, Mori (1952) had listed 18 genera and 26 species belong to four families in his check list of Korean fishes since Jordan and Metz (1913) firstly reported six genera and seven species in only two families (Embiotocidae and Labridae). Chyung (1977) added two species, Tilapia mossambica and Cirrhilabrus temmincki, to Mori’s list and also classified them into three suborders, i.e., Embiotocina (containing only Embiotocidae), Pomacentrina (Cichlidae and Pomacentridae), and Labrina (Labridae and Scaridae). Subsequently, Lee and Kim (1996) reviewed the Korean labroidfishes taxonomically resulting in 22 genera and 32 species in five families with some taxonomical modifications including a new Korean record. It is remarkable to be added many new Korean recordsto the pomacentrids or the labrids for recent 10 years (Koh et al., 1995; Yoo et al., 1995; Koh et al., 1997; Myoung, 1997; Choi and Kim, 2000; Choi et al., 2002; Kim and Go, 2003). Recently, Kim et al. (2005) briefly described all members of the Korean Labroidei with a color photograph or a figure, recognizing 27 genera and 42 species in five families. In the present study, the current taxonomical status of the Korean labroid fishes including distributional features is summarized based both on specimens collected from the Korean waters and on literature survey to provide bio-information of the Korean native fish species. As a result, the Korean labroid fishes totally consist of 27 genera and 44 species in five families, that is, Cichlidae (1 species), Embiotocidae (3), Pomacentridae (15), Labridae (22), and Scaridae (2). They distributed mainly in the coastal waters of the South Sea, Korea, however, most pomacentrids or labrids occur in the coastal waters of Jeju Island only, although some species were observed in their larval or juvenile stages only from coastal waters of the island. Interestingly, several species are expanding their distribution north to Ulreung and Dok islands in the East Sea, Korea lately.

SAR와 현장관측에 의한 황해 어청도 주변 해역에서의 내부파 특성 (The Characteristics of Internal Waves Observed by SAR and in-situ Measurement Data Near Ocheong-Do in the Yellow Sea)

  • 서해 중부 연안에서의 내부파 관측을 위하여 현장 관측과 인공위성의 SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar)센서를 이용한 관측을 함께 수행하였다. 2002년 5월 28일부터 30일까지 어청도 서쪽 10 km해상에서 thermistor chain, RCM 및 ADCP 유속계를 계류하여 관측하였으며 주변해역에 대한 CTD 관측도 수행하였다. 또한 29일 오전 6시 53분 SAR 영상을 획득하였다. 현장관측 결과 계류 지점을 통과하는 여러 개의 내부파가 관측되었고 SAR 영상에서도 관측지점 주변에서 다수의 내부파 군의 공간적인 분포를 확인할 수 있었다. SAR영상에서 관측된 내부파의 공간적인 특성과 현장 관측에서 계산된 시간적인 특성에 K-dv(Korteweg and de Vries)방정식을 적용하며 서해 중부 연안에서 발생한 내부파의 특성을 분석하였다. 이러한 내부파는 물리적으로, 군사적으로, 그리고 해양생물학적으로 매우 중요한 현상이며 서해의 중요한 여름철 특성으로 고려되어야 할 것이다.

위성자료와 경험직교함수를 이용한 제주도 주변해역의 중국대륙연안수 영향 연구 (Influence Analysis of China Coastal Water in the Seas Surrounding Jeju Island using Satellite Data and Empirical Orthogonal Function Analysis)

  • 중국 대륙연안수(CCW; China Coastal Waters)는 해에 따라 다소 다르지만 보통 하계인 6월${\~}$10월 사이에 제주도 주변해역에서 두드러지게 나타난다. 즉, 6월에 나타나기 시작하여 8월에 가장 큰 영향을 미치며 10월로 접어들면서 그 세력이 점차 소멸해간다. 해수면편차와 해수면온도의 경험직교함수 분석 결과 해수면편차는 1${\~}$3모드가 총 분산의 $95.05\%$를 차지하였고, 해수면온도는 1모드가 총 분산의 $98.70\%$를 차지하였다. 해수면편차 경험직교함수분석의 첫 번째 결과에 대한 파워스펙트럼분석에서는 중국대륙연안수에 의한 영향으로 동쪽해역보다 서쪽해역이 43일 주기의 세력이 더 강하게 나타났다. 해수면온도에 대해서는 양자강 하구를 비롯한 제주도 동쪽 서쪽해역의 주기가 모두 260일 주기가 나타남으로서 중국대륙연안 수는 43일, 120일 등의 짧은 주기보다는 비교적 장주기라 할 수 있는 260일 주기에 더 큰 영향을 미쳤다.

Cochlodinium Polykrikoides 적조가 발생하는 해역에서 호우에 의한 담수 유입 범위와 질소, 인의 농도변동 (Horizontal Distributions of Salinity and the Concentrations of DIN and DIP After Heavy Rainfall Events in Areas of Cochlodinium Polykrikoides Bloom Occurrence)

  • We examined the horizontal distribution of salinity and the concentrations of DIN and DIP after heavy rain-fall events in coastal areas of South Korea from Yeoja Bay to Narodo and from Gwangyang Bay to Geomodo to determine whether fresh water actually flows into areas of Cochlodinium polykrikoides red tides and to observe its effect on the growth of this organism after heavy rainfall. Following heavy rainfall (155 mm) in the Yeosu and Suncheon regions, the average salinity was 21 and 29 psu at Yeoja Bay and in the coastal waters of Narodo, respectively. After 126 mm of rainfall, the values were 19 and 25 psu in the coastal waters of Yeosu and Geomodo, respectively. This may have been caused by an influx of fresh water, after the rainfall event, into the open sea coastal areas around Narodo and Geomodo from the Dong and Seomjin Rivers, which are about 3540 km away. After the rainfall, the concentrations of $NH_4-N,\;NO_2-N$, and $PO_4-P$ were slightly increased; however, the concentration of $NO_3-N$ was greatly increased and diffused throughout the coastal areas of Narodo and Geomodo, which frequently experience C. polykrikoides blooms. The influence of $NH_4-N,\;NO_2-N$, and $PO_4-P$ on the occurrence of C. polykrikoidesred tides in coastal areas around Narodo and Geomodo after heavy rainfall does not appear to be great. Instead, the occurrence C. polykrikoides red tides in the coastal areas of Narodo and Geomodo seems to be facilitated by $NO_3-N$.

파랑후측모델링을 이용한 연안 파랑경향성 분석 (Wave Tendency Analysis on the Coastal Waters of Korea Using Wave Hind-Casting Modelling)

  • 본 연구에서는 파랑후측모델링을 통해 우리나라 연안에서의 장기 파랑경향성을 분석하였다. 파랑경향성 분석시 사용한 바람자료는 1979년부터 현재까지 제공하고 있는 ECMWF 바람자료를 사용하였으며, 모델수행 기간은 2001년~2014년으로 14년 동안 수행하였다. 생산된 파랑후측모델링 결과는 국립해양조사원 및 기상청에서 설치한 파랑관측부이 자료를 이용하여 검증하였다. 검증 결과, 태풍 및 폭풍이 발생한 이벤트 상황을 모델이 잘 재현하고 있으며, 정량적인 RMSE 값은 0.5 m로 유의한 결과 값을 보였다. 파랑후측모델링을 통한 최근 14년 동안의 파랑 경향성 분석 결과, 과거에 비해 권역별 파고 2 m 이상 출현율은 전해역 평균 0.082 %/year로 증가하고 있으며, 이는 고파랑이 지속적으로 심화되고 있음을 뜻한다. 이러한 연안 파랑경향성 분석자료는 최근 기후변화에 따른 연안의 취약성평가 및 연안역에서의 침식방지구조물의 방재 설계를 위한 기초자료로 사용 가능하다.

우리 나라 연안환경보전 관련 법율 에 관한 연구 (Study on Laws Conerned With Environmental Management of the Coadtal Zone in Korea)

  • The coastal waters and the adjacent coastal lands strongly influenced by each other and includes islands, transitional and intertidal ares, salt marshes wetlands and beaches. We focus on the coastal zone because of its unique geographical characteristics, Its ecological and economic importance, and the increasing pressures on its integrity. Our coastal zone have been controlled individually about 50 of a different kind of laws, as a result, to reach an individual purpose of the laws, people have developed the coastal zone without considering environmental condition, which brought about ecological destruction, pollution and devastation of the coastal areas. Finally, In 1999, the Coastal Management Act and the Wetlands Conservation Act were established and hereafter the environmental concern has been increased. They will be an important role to preserve our environment of coastal zone. Here I will examine the Laws concerned with environmental management of coastal zone and indicate immanent problems of it. So, I expect that problems will be improved one by one through this paper.

울릉도 연안에 서식하는 불볼락(Sebastes thompsoni)의 성숙과 산란 (Maturity and Spawning of Sebastes thompsoni in the Coastal Waters off Ulleungdo, Korea)

  • We investigated the maturation and spawning of Sebastes thompsoni in the coastal waters off Ulleungdo, based on samples collected by gill net from March 2013 to February 2014. We analyzed monthly changes in maturity stage, gonadosomatic index (GSI), egg diameter, fecundity, and total length (TL) at 50% group maturity. The average TLs of female and male S. thompsoni were 22.6 cm and 22.5 cm, respectively. The main parturition period of females was during March and April. The GSI of females began to increase in January, and reached a maximum in March. The GSI of male reached a maximum between January and February. The spawning period of males was shorter than that of females. The egg diameter during gestation stage was 1.4±2.1 mm. The TL of females at 50% group maturity was 22.3 cm.

인천해역 개발에 따른 조석변화 추정 (Prediction of Tidal Changes due to the Development of Incheon Coastal Waters)

  • 우리나라 서해안에 위치한 인천해역의 개발에 따른 조석특성을 분석하기 위하여 2차원 수치모형을 이용한 수치분석을 수행하였다. 먼저 기존 및 새로운 조석관측 자료를 분석하고, 수학적 모형으로서 수심 적분한 천수방정식을 선정하였으며, 이에 따른 수치모형은 Flather and Heaps(1975)의 모형을 사용하였다. 관측된 2개 주요분조 M$_2$와 S$_2$를 외해 경계조건으로 입력하여 모형을 수립하고, 수립된 모형을 2종류의 인천해역 개발안에 따라 적용하였다. 이 해역이 개발될 때 대조시 조석 변화양상을 평가한 결과 진폭변화는 미약하나 조류변화는 부분적으로 크게 나타낸다.
