간척지 자생 버드나무의 NaCl 농도별 생육반응 (Effects of NaCl Concentration on the Growth of Native Willow Species Collected in a Coastal Reclaimed Land)

  • 본 연구는 간척지에 자생하는 버드나무 (Salix koreensis Anderson)를 대상으로 염분에 대한 내성의 범위를 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 간척지에서 선발된 버드나무 6개체의 가지를 잘라 온실에서 삽목하여 2개월이 경과한 다음부터 NaCl 0.1%, 0.5%, 1.0% 용액과 지하수를 1개월간 관수하면서 재배하였다. 0.1% 및 지하수 처리구에서 전체 묘목의 생존율은 100%인 반면 0.5% 및 1.0% 처리구에서는 각각 73.2% 및 58.8%로 감소하였다. 0.1%와 지하수 처리구간의 묘고와 근원경 생장은 차이를 보이지 않았고 엽수는 실험기간동안 꾸준히 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 반면 0.5% 및 1.0% 처리구에서 묘고 생장은 지하수 처리구에 비해 각각 43.8% 및 88.9% 감소하였다. 0.5% 및 1.0% 처리구 묘목의 잎은 스트레스로 갈변하고 조기 낙엽되었다. 본 연구에 사용된 버드나무는 온실에서의 NaCl 처리결과 해안간척지에서 자생하는 개체임에도 불구하고 일반 임지에서 자생하는 버드나무보다 염분에 대한 내성 능력이 크지는 않은 것으로 추정된다.

Inoculation with Bacillus licheniformis MH48 Promotes Nutrient Uptake in Seedlings of the Ornamental Plant Camellia japonica grown in Korean Reclaimed Coastal Lands

  • The objective of this study was to determine whether inoculation with Bacillus licheniformis MH48 as a plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium (PGPR) could promote nutrient uptake of seedlings of the ornamental plant Camellia japonica in the Saemangeum reclaimed coastal land in Korea. B. licheniformis MH48 inoculation increased total nitrogen and phosphorus content in soils by 2.2 and 20.0 fold, respectively, compared to those without bacterial inoculation. In addition, B. licheniformis MH48 produced auxin, which promoted the formation of lateral roots and root hairs, decreased production of growth-inhibiting ethylene, and alleviated salt stress. Total nitrogen and phosphorus uptake of seedlings subjected to bacterial inoculation was 2.3 and 3.6 fold higher, respectively, than the control. However, B. licheniformis MH48 inoculation had no significant effect on the growth of seedlings. Our results suggest that inoculation with B. licheniformis MH48 can be used as a PGPR bio - enhancer to stimulate fine root development, promote nutrient uptake and alleviate salt stress in ornamental plant seedlings grown in the high-salinity conditions of reclaimed coastal land.

해안 매립지에서 과거 해안선의 산정 (II): 해안선변화 분석 (Estimation of Historical Shorelines on a Coastal Reclaimed Land (II) : Shoreline Change Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 남동 해안에 위치한 매립지(안정국가산업단지, 명지주거단지 및 녹산국가산업단지)에서 해안빈지 면적 산출을 위하여 항공사진으로부터 매립이전의 해안선을 조사하는 연구의 일환으로 수행되었다. 매립 이전 해안선의 적합성을 평가하고자 해안선변화자료를 구축하였다. 2차적인 지상기준점으로 오래된 항공사진의 항공삼각측량을 수행하였다. 해안선은 약최고고조위(AHHWL)에 해당하는 해안선과 wet/dry 흔적에 의한 고조선(HWL)을 도화하였다. 인공적인 해안에서 두 종류의 해안선은 잘 일치하였다. 항공사진 축척, 품질, 지상기준점 선정, 해안선 인식 등 세부적인 차이로 인하여 해안선변화자료는 다양한 오차수준으로 구성되었다. 정성적인 해안선변화 추이를 살펴보는 수준에서 매립 이전 해안선의 적합성은 만족할 만하였다. 본 연구지역에서 매립 이전의 해안선 변화는 대부분이 연안개발로 발생하였다. 항공사진과 연계하여 해안선의 속성을 파악함으로써 해안선 변화에 대한 이해가 가능하였다.

서해안 간척지 토양의 탈염특성 (Desalinization Characteristics after Reclamation of Tidal Flat on the Western Coast of Korea)

  • Vertical and temporal characteristics of desalinized reclaimed soil were analyzed from reclaimed coastal land on the western coast of Korea. Of the vertical changes during desalting, pH valuse were the lowest at the topsoil without regard to reclaimation time. The content of C1 were designated as the early period (the first 2-4 years) which decreased exponentially and the later period(the last 5-7 years) which was almost constant, from top to down. In temporal changes of the soil attributes, pH values increased for 5 years and decreased at 6 year after reclamation. Chlorine leaches more rapidly than Na does, K and Ca are constant but Mg increases as time elapsed after reclamation. Sometimes the content of Ca and K in the reclaimed soil are of higher concentration than that of the seawater after reclamation. During desallinization as exemplified by decreasing EC of the soil, Cl and Na are rapidly leached, but K, Ca and Mg are somewhat enhanced. The ration of Na/Cl in the soil equals 1 when the EC registers 5 mmho and then increases dramatically as the EC decreases. Rapid leaching of $Cl^{-}$ elicits an increasing pH valus. The electrostatic balance of the soil is achived by replacement of $Cl^{-}$ with $OH^{-}$ until stationary or until a decreasing pH value is reached again.

서해안 간척지 토성과 탈염 (Soil Texture and Desalination after Land Reclamation on the West Coast of Korea)

  • From 1984 to 1989 reclaimed coastal lands in Choongnam Province of the western coast of Korea were studied for soil texture at three sites(Daeho, Hyundai A and Hyundai B) and for desalination one site(Hyundai B). The soil textures of varied sites in Hyundai A were horizontally similar and composed of 39-40% clay, 40-49% silt and 8-14% sand. But those in Da돼 and Hyundai B differed horizontally in the same area and vertically at the same site. Soil texures of Da돼 were composed of 15-17% clay, 30-45% silt and 40-55% sand and those of Hyundai B were composed of 22-45% clay, 26-49% silt and 17-31% sand. The measured electrical conductivity(EC), which represents whole salt content of the reclaimed soil, decreased year by year. The vertical distribution of the EC changed temporally and spatially in the upper zone above a 50 cm depth but not in The lower zone below a 50 cm depth. The EC valus of the soil were inversely proportional to the magnitued of annual precipitation, evaporation and the numbers of rainy days with r equalling -0.97. But the annual decrease of the EC was directly proportional to climatic factors with r=0.7. Salt in the reclaimed land was leached out by the percolative action of surplus rain water, or moved up by evaporation and carried away by running rain water. The running out of the salt on the soil surface was most efficiently carried out over 10 mm precipitation per day.

간척지 내 단동형 온실의 풍하중에 대한 구조 안정성 분석 (Structural Safety of Single-Span Greenhouses under Wind Load of Costal Reclaimed Lands)

  • Coastal reclamation has created large flat lands, part of which is an attractive site to construct greenhouse complexes for the horticulture industry. Wind environments over these coastal lands are entirely different from those of the inland area, and demand increased structural safety. The objective of this study is to evaluate the structural safety of two single-span greenhouses, peach type and even-span type, under the wind characteristics of coastal reclaimed lands. The wind pressure coefficients acting on the walls and roofs of two greenhouses were measured by wind tunnel experiments, and those acting on the roofs were approximately two times larger than those suggested by the existing design guidelines. Consequently, structural analysis conducted by SAP2000 showed that greenhouse structures designed by the existing guidelines might lead to structural failure under coastal wind conditions because their maximum allowable wind speeds were lower than the design wind speed. Especially, the peach type greenhouse constructed in a reclaimed land could be damaged by approximately 48 % of the design wind speed and needed improvement of structural designs. This study suggested increasing the spacing of rafters with thicker pipes for the peach type greenhouse to enhance economic feasibility of the building under strong wind conditions of reclaimed lands.

1895~1936년 부산 '남빈해안(南濱海岸)'의 공간변화 연구 (A Study on the Spatial Change of Busan Nambin Coast from 1895 to 1936)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the spatial change of coastal area called Nampo-dong in Busan. And then the subject of research was chiefly concentrated upon the development of southern coast and the land-reclamation based on the commercial facilities after the opening port. There were various reclamation projects in the coastal area of Japanese settlement under the Rule of Japan. Busan Nambin Coast(Currently, Nampo-dong) was one of typical reclamation projects conducted in the southern seashore. Due to the characteristic of coastal area, fishery was developed well and the entertainment industry also grew rapidly with the characteristic of the short distance of urban centre. In this study, we investigated the process of reflecting the characteristic of spatial change that were pursued by communities at that time, particularly through the establishment and change of buildings.

  • Recently the truction of coastal reclaimation work has been extensively implemented in Korea. The Sondo New City is being established on the reclaimed land from the sea, construction companies of metro construction are planing to pull-out the sheet pile for saving the construction cost. In the case of soft marine clay, it is very difficult to pull-out the sheet pile by using the hydraulic hammer difficult. Therefore, the man of the field must be aware of vibration effect to the ground and the structure. For understanding the vibration effect to the ground during subway construction, the model was formulated with 1/25 braced-cut for subway construction. Scott and Iai(1989) proposed the law of the similarity for other experimental conditions. The laboratory model test was conducted under the vibration condition of sheet pile pulling out. The settlement on the ground surface was measured during the shaking table test. The pore water pressure was also monitored in the upper, middle, and lower layers of soil. The field settlement level and the pore water pressure can be predicted by using the results of the laboratory shaking table test.

식생지수를 활용한 한반도 해안 간척지 옥수수의 한발스트레스 해석 (Assessment of drought stress in maize growing in coastal reclaimed lands on the Korean Peninsula using vegetation index)

  • 본 연구는 건조처리에 따른 화옹, 새만금, 영산강 간척지 토양에서 키운 옥수수의 한발스트레스를 분광 반사율 분석을 통해 해석하였다. 옥수수의 식생지수는 모든 간척지 처리구에서 토양수분이 급격히 감소하는 관수 정지 20일후까지는 감소하는 경향이 없는 것이 확인되었으며 이후 급격히 감소하는 경향이 확인되었다. 건조처리에 따른 식생지수의 감소율은 새만금>영산강>화옹 간척지 순으로 나타났으며, NDVI는 모든 간척지 토양에서 50%가량 감소하여 잎의 수분함량 감소로 인한 한발스트레스가 발생한 것이 확인되었다. 모든 간척지 토양에서 카로티노이드의 변화를 기반으로 계산되는 SIPI와 PRI가 크게 감소하여 한발스트레스로 인한 광이용효율의 감소와 카로티노이드 함량의 증가가 일어난 것으로 판단되었다.
