수열합성법과 고상법을 이용해 제조된 Zn-ferrite 분말의 이산화탄소 분해 특성 (CO2 Decomposition Characteristics of Zn-ferrite Powder Prepared by Hydrothermal and Solid State Reaction)

  • 본 연구에서는 연소 배기가스로부터 포집된 이산화탄소를 다시 일산화탄소 또는 탄소로 전환하여 산업에 다시 활용하고자 하는 탄소순환형 기술개발이 목적이다. 그러나 이산화탄소는 안정한 화합물로 쉽게 분해되지 않기 때문에 적합한 금속계 산화물(활성화제)이 필요하며, 가능한 낮은 온도에서 분해되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Zn계 페라이트를 사용하여 $CO_2$$500^{\circ}C$의 온도에서 CO나 C로 전환할 수 있는 금속계 산화물을 수열합성과 고상법을 이용하여 제조하였다. 이산화탄소의 분해 특성을 실험하기 위해 TPR/TPO 장치와 TGA분석장비를 사용하였다. 수소에 의한 환원곡선 면적과 $CO_2$에 의한 흡착분해 곡선면적을 측정한 결과 ZnO가 5 wt% 포함되어 있는 Zn 페라이트가 가장 크게 나타났다. 또한 수소에 의한 흡착환원이 26.53 wt% 발생하였고, $CO_2$에 의한 산화량도 25.73 wt%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 이산화탄소의 흡착특성이 높지는 않았지만 분해효율이 96.98%로 우수한 산화 환원 특성을 나타내었다.

  • The change of thermal expansion and mechanical behaviors by cold working has been investigated in Fe-29%Ni-17%Co low thermal expansion Kovar alloy. Fe-29%Ni-17%Co alloy was cold rolled gradually and prepared to plates having reduction ratio of 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%. Annealing effect on the properties was also studied. Thermal expansion was measured from $25^{\circ}C$ to $600^{\circ}C$ with a heating rate of $5^{\circ}C$/min by using vacuum differential dilatometer. It was found that thermal expansion coefficient ($\alpha_{30{\sim}400}$) slightly decreased (reduction ration of 20%) and then remarkably increased (above reduction ration of 40%) with increasing reduction ratio of cold rolling. Thermal expansion coefficient ($\alpha_{30{\sim}400}$) was sharply decreased after annealing heat-treatment. Yield and tensile strengths were continuously increased and elongation was decreased by cold roiling. Microstructural observation and X-ray diffraction analysis results showed that the $\alpha$ phase significantly increased as the reduction ratio increased. The slight decrease of thermal expansion coefficient bellow reduction ration of 20% could be explained by the destroying short-range ordering and the decreasing of grain size. The significant increase of thermal expansion coefficient with cold rolling mainly attributed to the appearance of $\alpha$ phase. The correlation between the microstructural cause and invar phenomena for the low thermal expansion behavior was also discussed.

현장 도금 공정에서 PVC 여과지에 채취된 6가 크롬의 환원 (Reduction of Hexavalent Chromium Collected on PVC Filters in Field Electroplating Process)

  • Recently, pilot studies showed an evidence of reduction of airborne hexavalent chromium, Cr(VI), on PVC filter during air sampling and storage. However, the information on this in the field was limited. Thus, we studied the reduction behaviors of airborne Cr(VI) on PVC filters during sampling and storage at three field electroplating operations. Regression between sampling time and the reduction (ratio of Cr(VI) to total Cr concentrations) was not statistically significant (p>0.05). However, the reductions in samples collected for 240 ~ 340 minutes were significantly higher than those for 30 - 60 minutes. On the other hand, another experiment showed a good correlation (r=0.96) between sampling time and the reduction without an exceptional value. Storage temperature was not a factor affecting the reduction of Cr(VI) collected on PVC filter. The loss of Cr(VI) samples stored in alkali solution (2% NaOH/3% Na$_2$CO$_3$) was significantly lower than that stored in vial according to NIOSH method (p<0.05). Thus, dipping Cr(VI) samples into alkali solution was a storage method to minimize tile reduction.

양방향 고유압 말뚝재하시험을 이용한 대형건축물 기초의 공사비 절감에 관한 사례 연구 (A Case Study on Construction Cost Reduction of Large-size Building Foundation using Bi-directional High Pressure Pile Load Test(BDHPLT))

  • The bi-directional high pressure pile load test(BDH PLT) which is a kind of pile load tests was conducted to find out a reasonable design procedure of large-diameter drilled shafts of large-size building structures. The behaviors of bearing capacity and settlement of the large-diameter drilled shafts were analyzed and the results obtained from BDH PLT were also compared with those obtained from the equations suggested in the specification. In case of the reasonable design procedure adopted, the construction cost could be saved at least 15 ~ 28%. It could be concluded that BDH PLT should be needed for the foundation construction cost reduction of the high-rise building structures.

  • 초고진공하에서 열탈착 실험에 의하여 오산화바나듐 촉매상에서 일산화탄소와 메탄올의 홉착특성을 연구하였다. 일산화탄소는 오산화바나듐 촉매표면의 격자산소 결함을 갖는 바나듐이온이나 바나듐이온에 결합된 이중결합성 산소에 흡착하였다. 격자산소 결함을 갖는 바나듐이온에 흡착한 일산화탄소는 380K에서 탈착되었으며, 바나듐이온에 결합된 이중결합성 산소에 흡착한 일산화탄소는 격자산소와 결합하여 탄산기의 형태를 형성한 후 이산화탄소로 탈착되면서 촉매 표면을 환원시켰다. 선흡착되거나 후흡착되는 산소에 의하여, 탄산기의 형태로 흡착하는 일산화탄소의 흡착량은 증가하였다. 오산화바나듐 촉매상에서 메탄올을 흡착시킨 후 메탄올, 포름알데히드, 일산화탄소, 수소 등의 열탈착실험에 의하여 메탄올의 흡착특성을 연구하였다. 메탄올은 298 K에서 오산화바나듐 촉매상에 methoxy와 hydroxyl기를 형성하면서 분해흡착하였다.

Anti-Stress Effects of Ginsenoside Rg3-Standardized Ginseng Extract in Restraint Stressed Animals

  • We tested whether ginsenosides $Rg_3$-standardized ginseng extract (RGE) has anti-stress effects in restraint-stressed animals. RGE increased time spent in the open arms and open arm entries in the elevated plus-maze test. In addition, RGE blocked the reduction of center zone distance and stereotypes behaviors in the open-field test. RGE also increased head dips in stressed mice, indicating anxiolytic-like effects. Stress decreased movement distance and duration, burrowing, and rearing frequency but increased face washing and grooming. RGE significantly reversed burrowing and rearing activity in stressed mice. In addition, we measured sleep architecture in restraint stressed rats using EEG recorder. Stress increased rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, but total sleep and non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep were not changed. RGE did not affect sleep architecture in stressed rats. These behavioral experiments suggest that RGE has anti-stress effects in restraint-stressed animal models.

코발트계 페라이트 분말을 이용한 이산화탄소 전환특성 (Characteristics of CO2 Conversion Using Cobalt Ferrite Powders)

  • 국내의 경우 배출되는 이산화탄소의 양은 연간 6억톤 이상으로 대기로의 방출을 막기 위해 이 중 일부를 포집하여 저장을 하여야 하나, 아직 적당한 저장소를 발견하지 못한 상태이다. 따라서 포집된 이산화탄소의 일부를 다시 유용한 탄소원으로 전환하여 사용하고자 하는 연구가 많이 진행되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 안정한 이산화탄소를 보다 적은 에너지원을 사용하여 유용한 탄소자원을 만드는데 있다. 이를 위해 환원가스와 금속계 산화물(활성화제)이 필요하다. 따라서 환원가스는 수소를 사용하였고, 활성화제로는 코발트계 페라이트를 사용하였다. 활성화제는 제법에 따라 물성에 대한 차이가 있을 것으로 판단하여 고상법과 수열합성법을 이용해 제조된 분말을 사용하여 각각 이산화탄소 분해 특성 연구를 수행하였다. 이산화탄소의 분해 특성을 관찰하기 위해 TPR/TPO와 TGA 장치를 사용하였다. TPR/TPO를 이용한 $CO_2$에 의한 흡착분해 곡선면적을 측정한 결과 고상법으로 제조된 활성화제 중 CoO의 함량이 5와 10 wt%일때 우수한 성능을 나타내었다. 마찬가지로 TGA를 이용한 실험결과에서도 고상법에 의해 제조된 시료가 수소에 의한 흡착환원이 29.0 wt% 발생하였고, $CO_2$에 의한 산화량도 27.5 wt%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 그리고 $CO_2$의 분해효율이 95%로 우수한 이산화탄소 전환 특성을 나타내었다.

리툼 이차 전지용 Co3O4 및 Ni-Co3O4 복합물의 전기화학적 특성 및 표면 형상의 관계 (A Relation between the Electrochemical Behaviors and Morphology of Co3O4 and Ni-Co3O4 Composites as Anode Materials for Li Ion Secondary Batteries)

  • Li 이차 전지 음극용 활물질인 $Co_3O_4$의 초기 충방전 효율을 향상시키기 위해 chemical reduction method나 mechanical milling법을 이용하여 $Co_3O_4$에 Ni을 첨가하여 $Ni-Co_3O_4$, 복합물을 제조하였다. 그 결과 초기 충방전 효율이 약 69%에 불과한 $Co_3O_4$에 비해 mechanical milling법을 이용하여 제조된 $Ni-Co_3O_4$ 복합물은 약 79%이상의 대폭 향상된 초기 충방전 효율 특성을 나타내었다. 하지만 chemical reduction method를 이용하여 제조된 $Ni-Co_3O_4$ 복합물은 약 71%의 초기 충방전 효율 특성만을 나타내었다. SEM 분석을 통해 각 물질의 표면 형상을 관찰한 결과 mechanical milling법과 chemical reduction method를 통해 제조된 $Ni-Co_3O_4$ 복합물에서는 $Co_3O_4$ 표면에 분포된 Ni의 균일성의 차이가 존재하였다. $Co_3O_4$$Li_2O$의 분해, 형성에 의해 충방전되고 Ni이 $Li_2O$의 분해를 촉진시키는 효과를 가지고 있음을 고려할 때 이러한 균일성의 차이는 결국 Ni 과 $Co_3O_4$ 사이의 접촉면적의 차이로 이어져 $Ni-Co_3O_4$ 복합물의 초기 충방전 효율 특성이 그 제조 방법에 따라 달라지는 것으로 보인다.

인터넷에서 행동 수정 이론을 적용한 체중 감량 상담 방법 개발 (Development of Nutritional Counseling for Weight Reduction based on behavior modification through Internet)

  • The purpose of the study was to develop an internet nutritional counseling program using an expert system to assist obese people to lose weight through behavior modification. The internet counseling program for weight loss was developed by the accumulation of knowledge dealing with eating habits and exercising behaviors in expert system tool, Knowledge Engineering Agent (KEA) by a dietitian without any help of computer expert. To accumulate knowledge into KEA, survey was performed in 150 obese people, dietitians reviewed and consulted each survey case, and the consulted contents were learned and accumulated into KEA. Survey questionnaire was the same as that of the internet consulting program, and it included general characteristics, dietary habits, lifestyle, and exercise patterns related to obesity. Also, the dietitian selected proper factors inferred from the survey questionnaire of each case, and added the conclusions for them. Conclusions were made for helping clients to correct bad eating behaviors and accumulate good behaviors to lose weight. Counseling was divided into two parts; a two-week part and a daily part. Two-week counseling was performed based on 4 step questionnaires, and daily counseling was done for daily food consumption and physical activity. When clients answered survey questionnaires in a counseling internet program, the recommendations on how to eat, to exercise and to deal with stress in a real time for each case, was given. In conclusion, a counseling internet program for weight reduction can be used to give advices how to deal with obesity in a man-to-man way in a real time using KEA where nutritional knowledge based on behavior modification for weight loss was accumulated.

Size-dependent dynamic stability of a FG polymer microbeam reinforced by graphene oxides

  • The dynamic stability of a functionally graded polymer microbeam reinforced by graphene oxides subjected to a periodic axial force is investigated. The microbeam is assumed to rest on an elastic substrate and is subjected to various immovable boundary restraints. The weight fraction of graphene oxides nanofillers is graded across the beam thickness. The effective Young's modulus of the functionally graded graphene oxides reinforced composite (FG-GORC) was determined using modified Halpin-Tsai model, with the mixture rule used to evaluate the effective Poisson's ratio and the mass density. An improved third order shear deformation theory (TSDT) is used in conjunction with the Chebyshev polynomial-based Ritz method to derive the Mathieu-Hill equations for dynamic stability of the FG-GORC microbeam, in which the scale effect is taken into account based on modified couple stress theory. Then, the Mathieu-Hill equation was solved using Bolotin's method to predict the principle unstable regions of the FG-GORC microbeams. The numerical results show the effects of the small scale, the graphene oxides nanofillers as well as the elastic substrate on the dynamic stability behaviors of the FG-GORC microbeams.
