Purpose - This study incorporated the success factors of bio cluster and provided the ways to utilize them for managing the performance of bio cluster. The aim of this study was to present an integrated framework for the success factors of the bio cluster by combining the literature and case studies, and to measure and manage the performance of the bio cluster. Research design, data, and methodology - This study combined the literature review with the case study. We reviewed the literature on the success factors of the bio cluster presented by existing studies. We studied some cases of how these factors are actually applied in the bio cluster also. We integrated the success factors of bio cluster based on both the literature review and the case study. Results - The success factors of the bio cluster presented in this study as an integrated framework were defined as six factors: knowledge base and expertise, industrial infrastructure, funding and investment, government support, start-up activities and innovation activities. These success factors can be measured and managed by some performance indicators of each factor. Conclusions - Through this study, we can identify the integrated success factors of the bio cluster and understand how these factors work in bio cluster. In addition, this integrated framework of success factors will be effectively utilized to measure and manage the performance of the bio cluster.

Although the demand for IT outsourcing (ITO) has increased recently because of the recent recession, concerns about business discontinuity in the transition phase cause companies to hesitate to adopt ITO. Therefore, a guideline to improve the prospects is needed. However, studies on the success factors of the transition phase in ITO are lacking. In this study, we develop an expert hierarchical value map (HVM) of the success of the transition phase in ITO by using cognition scientific methodologies. We empirically verify how success factors affect the success of the transition phase. Specifically, we derive an HVM of main stakeholders by using in-depth interviews and approaches, such as repertory grid technique (RGT) and laddering, based on means-end chain theory. We validate the success factors empirically through a bipolar analysis of RGT. Finally, we determine the most important cluster of success factors through cluster analysis.

최근 산업클러스터 전략과 지식경영 요소를 도입하여 지역특화산업을 성장동력으로 육성하려는 노력이 증가하고 있는 가운데 지식경영의 성공요인들이 과연 농산업분야의 기업 경영성과에도 영향을 미치는지 여부를 검증하는 연구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 순창장류산업을 연구분석 대상으로 하여 지식경영이 농산업클러스터 내 기업의 경영성과 향상에 미친 영향에 대해 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 지식경영 성공요인 중 '학습문화', '네트워크', '지식공유활동', '지식창조활동' 수준이 높을수록 기업경영 성과가 향상된다는 점을 확인하였다. 또한 이 과정에서 산업클러스터 특성이 지식경영과 경영성과와의 관계를 촉진시키는 조절 변수로서 기능하는지를 분석한 결과, 산업클러스터 특성들이 지식경영 성공요인 중 지식공유활동과 네트워크 요인을 더욱 증대시켜 기업경영성과를 향상시킨다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 순창장류산업클러스터가 지식경영 발전단계 중 준비기를 거쳐 도입기에 도달했음을 분석하고, 성숙기와 완성기로 나아가기 위한 구성요소를 제시하였다.

혁신클러스터는 전 세계적으로 지역의 경쟁력을 높이는 주요 도구로 활용되고 있다. 한국도 정책적으로 다양한 형태의 혁신클러스터를 조성 및 육성하고 있다. 하지만 성공적인 혁신클러스터 육성을 위한 체계적인 분석은 활발하지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 문헌연구를 통해 혁신클러스터의 성공요인을 도출하고, 이를 활용하여 분석을 위한 프레임워크를 제시하였다. 또한 제시한 프레임워크에 따라 판교테크노밸리를 대상으로 사례연구를 하였다. 분석 결과 성공적인 혁신클러스터를 위해서는 혁신지향적인 환경, 지속적인 정책적 지원, 지식 네트워크의 활성화, 혁신성과의 환류가 중요한 것으로 나타났다.

Purpose - As Korea is reaching a post-aged society, the number of chronic illness is increasing, and the demand for rehabilitation medical device is growing. Although there is high potential for the growth in rehabilitation industry, because most of the related companies in Korea are relatively small, lacking capital or R&D resource, it is difficult for them to create an innovative product, and currently most of the high-tech equipments are imported. Therefore a medical device cluster, where business, research, medical institutes and universities may work cooperatively to enhance research development and solve issues is necessary for future development. Research design, data, methodology - In this method we have done a literature review of the rehabilitation industry and industrial cluster. Based on the studies, we have conducted an exploratory factor analysis by studying examples of foreign and domestic medical clusters and drawing success factors in forming a medical cluster. Next based on the studies we have conducted a survey to domestic medical device companies to find their difficulties and needs to form a successful medical device cluster. Results - This paper provides both theoretic review on success factors of forming a medical device cluster and practical analysis using case study and survey. Conclusion - The significance of this paper is that based on the literature review, we have compared actual examples of domestic/foreign medical clusters and drawn difference and coincidence between literature and actual cluster success factor. We were also able to conduct a survey on actual medical device companies and through the results we were able to search difficulties and necessities of medical device companies.

본 연구는 항만혁신클러스터의 성공도 예측과 평가요소를 분석하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 항만혁신클러스터 정책, 자원, 운영 등 3가지의 평가항목으로 구분하였다. 그리고 3항목은 다시 12개의 요소로 세분화하였다. 평가요소의 중요도는 코호넨 네트웍에 의해 산출되었다. 그 결과 자원요소가 다른 요소에 비해 가장 중요한 것으로 나타났다.

As the global game market has been more competitive, it has been important to analyze success factors of game products. In this paper, we applied a Bass Diffusion Model and Clustering Analysis to identify the success factors of games based on data from Steam, an international game platform. By using a diffusion model, we first categorize game products into two groups : successful and unsuccessful games. Then, each group has been analyzed by using clustering analysis based on product features such as genres, price, and minimum system requirements. As a result, success factors of a game have been identified. The result shows that customers in game industry appreciate sophisticated contents. Unlike many other industries, price is not considered as a key success factor in the game industry. Expecially, advanced independent video games (commonly referred to as indie games) with killer contents show competitiveness in the market.

By highlighting the efficiencies gained from regional specialization, the cluster concept has distracted economic development officials from their traditional role of diversifying regional and local economies. Clustering was a viable strategy for much of the 18 years following its original appearance in the literature. Now, two events cast doubt on the continued viability of cluster-based specialization. First, the digital convergence has blurred the boundaries that once separated one industry from another. An industry cluster strategy becomes difficult when the industry cannot be defined. Second, many cluster initiatives fail. Combining literature search with the system-theoretic notions of efficiency and redundancy, we find many factors moderate cluster success. This implies regions facing uncertain success in their cluster-building efforts should thoroughly understand their unique circumstances and build upon them. Regions with successful clusters are advised to aim for multiple related clusters or superclusters.

본 연구는 항만혁신클러스터의 성공을 위한 평가요소를 분석하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 항만혁신클러스터 성공을 위한 평가항목을 정책, 자원, 운영 등 3가지로 구분하였다. 그리고 3항목은 다시 12개의 요소로 세분화하였다. 뉴럴네트웍에 의한 훈련 및 검증을 위해 전체 30개의 설문자료를 훈련용과 검증용으로 각각 15부씩 구분하고, 구분된 자료를 이용하여 훈련 및 검증하였다. 코호넨 네트웍에 의해 수행한 결과 예측의 정확성은 $73.33\%$로 나타났다. 평가항목 및 세부요소의 중요도는 코호넨 네트웍에 의해 산출되었다. 그 결과 항만혁신 클러스터의 성공을 예측한 그룹의 경우에는 자원항목이 다른 항목에 비해 가장 중요한 것으로 나타났다.

본 연구의 목적은 샌디에고 바이오 클러스트를 형성하는데 핵심적 역할을 한 CONNECT의 성공요인과 프로그램들을 문헌연구를 통해 분석하고 소개함으로서 우리나라 창업보육센터의 서비스를 향상시키기 위한 방향성을 제시하는데 있다. 현재 CONNECT는 창업보육에 있어 세계적인 벤치마킹사례로 유명하다. 본 논문에서는 국내의 지방자치단체 및 창업보육기관들이 쉽게 벤치마킹할 수 있도록 CONNECT의 성공요인을 분석하고 핵심보육프로그램들을 소개하는데 중점을 두었다. UCSD CONNECT는 기업성장단계별로 다양한 기업의 필요에 따른 지원프로그램을 잘 갖추고 있으며 현재까지 800개가 넘는 하이테크기업들을 육성했다. CONNECT는 하드웨어적 지원방식에 익숙한 우리나라의 창업보육센터가 향후 중점을 두어야 할 다양한 소프트웨어적 지원 프로그램들을 제공해 왔다. 정책책임자의 리더쉽, 네트워크 및 소프트웨어적 기업지원서비스가 UCSD CONNECT의 가장 중요한 성공요인이었다.
