A Study on the cold weather performance for diesel vehicle as fuel properties (연료물성에 따른 경유 차량의 저온성능 영향 연구)

  • At low temperature, Wax build-up and settling can affect adversely the cold weather performance of the diesel vehicle. In this study, we test the cold properties of diesel by blending ratio of biodiesel, kerosene and WAFI. Also, we test the cold weather performance for diesel vehicle by fuel cold properties. Cold properties of diesel are improved by adding the WAFI, kerosene and get worse by adding the biodiesel. WAFI is effective to improve a cold filter plugging point(CFPP) and Kerosene is effective to improve a cloud point(CP). CFPP and pour point(PP) are related to cold weather performance of diesel vehicle but CP is unrelated. CFPP indicate a limit temperature of vehicle driving possibility.

  • They are rapidly evolving malicious attacks on smart devices, and to timely protect the smart devices from these attacks has become a very important issue. In particular, smishing attack has emerged as one of the most important threats on the smartphone. In this paper, we propose the cloud service that can fundamentally protect the user from the risk of smishing attack. The proposed scheme provides cloud messaging service that can filter text messages including URLs in the user's smart device, view and manage them through a virtual machine provided by a cloud server. The existing techniques for preventing smshing attacks protect only malicious code of a known pattern and there is the possibility of error such as FP(False Positive) or FN(False Negative). However, since the proposed method automatically filters all text messages including URLs, storing, viewing, and managing them in their own storage space on the cloud server, it can completely block the installation of malwares(malicious codes) on the user's smart device through smishing attacks.

  • Radio base stations, which are widely distributed across large areas, have many difficulties in managing them. Unmanned radio base stations in remote mountains are having a hard time accessing them in case of emergencies. Major telephone service providers only remotely control incoming and outgoing information and local small business partners responsible for maintaining actual facilities do not possess such technologies, so they are each checked during field visits. In this study, in order to monitor temperature, humidity, fire condition, and power operation at a wide range of radio base stations, real-time monitoring is carried out at the office of Klaus server through real-time monitoring.

Synthesis of Biodiesel from Vegetable Oil and Their Characteristics in Low Temperature (식물성 오일로부터 바이오디젤의 합성과 저온특성)

  • Biodiesel come from animal fat and vegetable oil by methanolysis was known for eco-friendly fuel for the alternative petrodiesel. But, various kinds of biodiesel need to analyze the cold characteristic due to poor fuel properties than petrodiesel in a cold condition. In this paper, 12 types of biodiesel were synthesized in 86~96% yields from 12 kinds of vegetable oil by transesterification. These synthesized biodiesels were analyzed in terms of the cold characteristics like cloud point, pour point, and cold filter plugging point (CFPP). The biodiesel comes from perilla oil which has rich olefin showed the excellent fuel characteristics in a low temperature.

In this study, in order to process the sensor raw data and smoothing, we apply the particle filters and confirmed that the performance of sensor data accuracy is increased. Integrated system using temperature, humidity, fire condition, and power operation at a wide range of radio base stations under the real-time monitoring status is operated well. It show that all of the status of base station are monitored at the remote office using the cloud server through internet networking.

  • A software defined storage (SDS) is being deployed in cloud environment to allow multiple users to virtualize physical servers, but a solution for optimizing space efficiency with limited physical resources is needed. In the conventional data deduplication system, it is difficult to deduplicate redundant data uploaded to distributed storages. In this paper, we propose a distributed deduplication method using similarity-based clustering and multi-layer bloom filter. Rabin hash is applied to determine the degree of similarity between virtual machine servers and cluster similar virtual machines. Therefore, it improves the performance compared to deduplication efficiency for individual storage nodes. In addition, a multi-layer bloom filter incorporated into the deduplication process to shorten processing time by reducing the number of the false positives. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves the deduplication ratio by 9% compared to deduplication method using IP address based clusters without any difference in processing time.

Spatial Region Estimation for Autonomous CoT Clustering Using Hidden Markov Model

  • This paper proposes a hierarchical dual filtering (HDF) algorithm to estimate the spatial region between a Cloud of Things (CoT) gateway and an Internet of Things (IoT) device. The accuracy of the spatial region estimation is important for autonomous CoT clustering. We conduct spatial region estimation using a hidden Markov model (HMM) with a raw Bluetooth received signal strength indicator (RSSI). However, the accuracy of the region estimation using the validation data is only 53.8%. To increase the accuracy of the spatial region estimation, the HDF algorithm removes the high-frequency signals hierarchically, and alters the parameters according to whether the IoT device moves. The accuracy of spatial region estimation using a raw RSSI, Kalman filter, and HDF are compared to evaluate the effectiveness of the HDF algorithm. The success rate and root mean square error (RMSE) of all regions are 0.538, 0.622, and 0.75, and 0.997, 0.812, and 0.5 when raw RSSI, a Kalman filter, and HDF are used, respectively. The HDF algorithm attains the best results in terms of the success rate and RMSE of spatial region estimation using HMM.

  • Personal health records (PHRs) is an electronic medical system that enables patients to acquire, manage and share their health data. Nevertheless, data confidentiality and user privacy in PHRs have not been handled completely. As a fine-grained access control over health data, ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption (CP-ABE) has an ability to guarantee data confidentiality. However, existing CP-ABE solutions for PHRs are facing some new challenges in access control, such as policy privacy disclosure and dynamic policy update. In terms of addressing these problems, we propose a privacy protection and dynamic share system (PPADS) based on CP-ABE for PHRs, which supports full policy hiding and flexible access control. In the system, attribute information of access policy is fully hidden by attribute bloom filter. Moreover, data user produces a transforming key for the PHRs Cloud to change access policy dynamically. Furthermore, relied on security analysis, PPADS is selectively secure under standard model. Finally, the performance comparisons and simulation results demonstrate that PPADS is suitable for PHRs.

A GPU-based Filter Algorithm for Noise Improvement in Realtime Ultrasound Images (실시간 초음파 영상에서 노이즈 개선을 위한 GPU 기반의 필터 알고리즘)

  • The ultrasound image uses ultrasonic pulses to receive the reflected waves and construct an image necessary for diagnosis. At this time, when the signal becomes weak, noise is generated and a slight difference in brightness occurs. In addition, fluctuation of image due to breathing phenomenon, which is the characteristic of ultrasound image, and change of motion in real time occurs. Such a noise is difficult to recognize and diagnose visually in the analysis process. In this paper, morphological features are automatically extracted by using image processing technique on ultrasound acquired images. In this paper, we implemented a GPU - based fast filter using a cloud big data processing platform for image processing. In applying the GPU - based high - performance filter, the algorithm was run with performance 4.7 times faster than CPU - based and the PSNR was 37.2dB, which is very similar to the original.

  • It is very important to supply the diesel fuel from fuel tank to combustion chamber in case of cold start procedure. the paraffin hydrocarbons are easily solidified at low fuel temperature and it can be blocking the fuel supply to the high pressure fuel pump. In order to reduce the fuel crystallization (Waxing), it have been used to develop not only cold flow additives but also the proper mounting design of fuel filter. Block heater in the fuel filter assembly have been also contained to improve the cold start and prevent blocking the fuel supply in Common Rail Direct Injection System. we can obtain the fuel pressure drop and fuel flow rate, power consumption of fuel heater to have the cold flow evaluation test with the saperated and composited fuel heater at the low ambient temperature, Due to evaluating cold flow performance of two block heater, we knew that composited package fuel heater was the excellent cold flow performance compared to separated type and obtained the parameters of cold flow.
