Consumer decisions and responses about the price to pay vary. Some consumers might decide the appropriate price range prior to shopping, while others compare and evaluate prices. Especially, consumers can have different reference points for price evaluation based on various price searching behavior that represent heterogeneous responses for prices in the clothing purchase decision-making process. This research identifies how consumers evaluate the price and helps explain their decision-making based on price searches. By analyzing qualitative research, we found that consumers recalled price information as a representative indicator and product level price information through the internal search. Their level of internal references can be an important factor affecting price evaluations. In addition, each consumer groups were subdivided into high and low external searching. The questionnaires for this survey were developed to measure knitwear purchasing behavior, including sources of information about knitwear, evaluative criteria of knit wear product, attributes f store preference for knitwear, and shopping orientation. The questionnaire was administered to 119 female college students in the University of California. The data was analyzed by percentage, frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cluster Analysis and ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range test. The female college students were classified into five subdivisions by cluster analysis; cautious shopping group, recreational shopping group, self-confident shopping group, shopping indifferent group, price conscious shopping group. In the case of fashion information sources of knit wear, significant differences were found according to shopping orientation subdivision in observation of others' and famous people's clothing, fashion shows, fashion articles in magazines, newspapers, and on the Internet, and shop displays. This study identified the characteristics of fashion rental service users as well as analyzed their purchase decision-making processes. A qualitative investigation was conducted through in-depth interviews with 13 women in their 20s-30s who have experienced renting fashion items due to a high interest in fashion. The results of the study are summarized as follows. The need recognition stage analyzed ventilation by mass media, SNS impact, curiosity, saving shopping time and money, awareness of situational necessity, and creation of various styles. The information search stage analyzed how users obtained information from 2 different sources of nonmarketer-dominated sources and marketer-dominated sources. The pre-purchase stage analyzed the evaluation of alternatives in which study participants used 2 evaluation criteria for fashion rental services and fashion rental items. The purchase stage analyzed how participants wait and select desired items (when receiving the notification of rentable items) or select alternative products. The consumption stage examined the usage frequency and usage method. The study divided the post-consumption evaluation stage into 2 categories for evaluation: personal feelings and service. The post-consumption behavior stage analyzed how participants displayed WOM, eWOM and purchase rental product behavior. Clothing shopping orientation of study participants is displayed in 5 dimensions of brand-seeking propensity, individuality-seeking propensity, economic efficiency-seeking propensity, rationality-seeking propensity, and pleasure-seeking propensity. This study identified three main characteristics in the study participants: interest in the fashion, favorable attitude toward used fashion items, consciousness of others.
This study aimed to construct an effective decision-making model on selection of cloth stores using AHP technique. The proposed AHP structure consists of three levels. The highest level includes the cloth stores alternative which are department store, specialty store, and a clothes store. The second level consists of the key performance measurements for evaluating the optimal selection of cloth stores, such as location, facilities, product, service, and promotion. The lowest level consists of items which affects the performance measurements in the upper level. The items are convenience location, courteous service, decor/ambience, availability of parking, etc. The data for this research were collected from questionnaires of 132 in Busan. Data were analyzed by frequency and AHP. As the result of this study, 'product' was decided as a most important item in department store, while 'location' was decided as a most important item in specialty store and a clothes store. And 'variety goods' evaluated as that of first priority in the totality evaluation items in department store, but 'convenience location' evaluated as that of first priority in the totality evaluation items specialty store and a clothes store.

Price is one of the most important components of marketing mix. For consumers, price is an always-existing cue and definite evaluation criteria. However, information on price is meaningful only when it is perceived. Sources of price perception can be the actual retail price at the selling point, the internal reference price expected by consumers for a certain clothing product, and the external reference price advertised by marketer such as the price before mark-down. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of internal reference price on consumers' purchasing process of clothing products. A questionnaire including clothing stimuli was developed in order to assess consumers' internal reference price level. Usable data from 680 adult female urban residents were used for data analysis. Results indicated that consumers with relatively lower internal reference price tend to react low-price focused external reference price and use discount stores and unit price promotions. Consumers with relatively higher internal reference price advertisement are likely to have higher level of education, tend to infer price information to higher quality or prestige of products, and purchase clothing with regular retail price or coupons.
This study presents the process of fashion item development with velvet through creative thinking methods. Creativity is one of the most important requirements for a successful job career and education enhancing creative thinking is needed in the area of fabrication, product design, and marketing strategy development. Velvet was selected as a research stimulus because it is a luxurious fabric with various differential properties such as a soft touch, unique luster, excellent drapability, and fine physical properties. The research methodology included creative thinking methods review, the selection of the tools, idea sourcing and listing, sequential idea evaluation and sample product making. After review of the various creative thinking methods, a combination method and forced connection method were employed as research tools to confirm the usefulness of creative thinking training because of their independence of use and application simplicity. A total of 12 university students participated as subjects in this research. After some training, each student derived ten ideas for velvet products that utilized a combination method and forced connection method. A total of 120 ideas were evaluated for novelty, technical possibility, practicality, and marketability; subsequently, 24 ideas were adopted and developed as sample products. The effectiveness of creativity education in fabrication and product design classes was verified through the whole process of product planning.
This study was to develope the functional work clothing for livestock farmers. Major demanding performances for livestock work clothing are anti-soil and anti-bacterial properties. On surveys, functional fabrics that have anti-soil, anti-bacterial and waterrepellent performances were developed and the work clothing that have adaptability to body movements were manufactured. The designs of livestock working clothes were two piece and one piece with rubber bade in waist. The thermal responses of subjects wearing the winter working clothes for stock farming worker were measured in the climate chamber($17^{\circ}C$, 40% R.H.). The main results were summarized as follows: Total body weight loss was smaller and the mean skin temperature was higher in developed clothes than the market product. Clothing micro-climate of developed clothes was lower than the market clothes. Subjective sensation did not have significant differences. From the results of various evaluation, developed garments for livestock workers showed better efficiency than the market product.
This study proposes a design process for an upper limb assistive wearable soft robot that will enable the development of a clothing product for an upper limb assistive soft robot. A soft robot made of a flexible and soft material that compensates for the shortcomings of existing upper limb muscle strength assistive devices is being developed. Consequently, a clothing process of the upper limb assistive soft robot is required to increase the possibility of wearing such a device. The design process of the upper limb auxiliary soft robot is presented as follows. User analysis and required performance deduction-Soft robot design-upper limb assistive wearable soft robot prototype design and production-evaluation. After designing the clothing according to the design process, the design was revised and supplemented repeatedly according to the results of the clothing evaluation. In the post-production evaluation stage, the first and second prototypes were attached to actual subjects, and the second prototype showed better results. The developed soft robot evaluated if the functionality as a clothing function and the functionality as the utility of the device were harmonized. The convergence study utilized a process of reducing friction conducted through an understanding and cooperation between research fields. The results of this study can be used as basic data to establish the direction of prototype development in fusion research.
