千里浦 樹木園의 泥炭의 花紛分析 (A Pollen Analytical Study of the Peat Sediments from the Chollipo Arboretum in Southwestern, Korea)

  • This paper deals with pollen analysis of a 190cm core collected from the Chollipo Arboretum sedimentary basin($N36^{\circ}47$ 43", $E1269^{\circ}$ 7") in southwestern Korea in order to know the change of the climate and vegetation. In this research it is found that the pollen zones are divided into two layers. Pollen zone, I, the lower layer, is flourished with broadleaved trees such as Quercus, Alnus, Corylus, Betula, Carpinus and Castanopsis, and about 30~40% of pollen of those trees consist of that of Q. acuta/glauca and Castanopsis which are evergreen trees. And pollen of Trapa, Typhaceae and Nymphaceae living in wet habitat, is dominant among the nonarboreal pollen. Therefore we can conclude that it ould be warmer and more humid than present in this area of the past. In pollen zone, the upper layer, pollen of Pinus is dominant and those of Artemisia, Gramineae, Compositae and spore are increased in quantity, while pollen of Quercus, Belula and Nymphaceae decreased. It it supposed that the climate of this zone was drier than that zone.that zone.

화분분석에 의한 정족산 무제치늪의 과거식생 (Past Vegetation of Moojaechi on Mt. Jungjok by Pollen Analysis)

  • The standing crop and net production were estimated in Moojaechi on Mt. Jungjok. By using the decay model of organic carbon, absolute year of bog peat was calculated. Pollen analysis to bog peat revealed vegetational history and climate change around Moojaechi. The time required for amount of the accumulated peat in the bog was estimated in terms of the balance of the accumulation and decay of organic carbon of the deposit peat. Absolute year of the peat surveyed in this study was about 314 years. Pollen of Pinus was predominant in all the pollen zone, Geamineae and Cyperaceae increased in lower pollen zone while Pinus in upper pollen zone. This showes that climate of the past was probably more humid than that of present. In addition, middle pollen zone showed warming trend which is suggested by high pollen concentration of Quercus, Juglans, Carpinus and Corylus. It suggests that overall environment and vegetation were changed from warmer and more humid to dry condition in Moojaechi and it is considered as the course of boggy ground formation by retrogressive successions.

지리산 기후변화 취약수종 분포지의 산림식생 유형 및 희귀-특산식물 분포 특성 (Vegetation Type Classification and Endemic-Rare Plants Investigation in Forest Vegetation Area Distributed by Vulnerable Species to Climate Change, Mt. Jiri)

  • 우리나라의 아고산대는 기후변화에 지역적 취약성을 띄는 지역으로, 아고산대의 산림식생은 기후변화에 따른 영향을 관찰할 수 있는 중요한 기초지표 중 하나이다. 본 연구는 지리산 아고산대의 기후변화 취약수종 분포지의 산림식생을 대상으로 하여 식물사회학적 식생 유형 및 희귀-특산식물 분포 특성에 대해 구명하였다. 2015년 3월부터 10월까지 37개소에서 식생조사를 실시하였고, 식물사회학적 식생유형 분류를 통해 종조성을 파악하고, 종의 우점도를 파악하기 위해 중요치를 이용하여 식생유형별 층위구조를 분석하였다. 그 결과 식생유형분류체계는 8개 종군유형과 5개의 식생단위로 구분되었다. 산림청 지정 특산식물은 9분류군, 희귀식물은 17분류군이 출현하였고, 북방계식물의 비율은 41.2%이며, 식생단위별 해발고도가 증가함에 따라 희귀-특산식물도 함께 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 중요치 분석 결과, 구상나무는 모든 식생단위에서 평균상대우점치가 높게 나타났다. 또한 층위별로 보았을 때 식생단위 1을 제외한 단위들에서는 신갈나무, 당단풍나무 등의 수종과 경쟁관계에 놓여 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 기후변화로 인한 아고산대 산림식생의 변화를 이해하기 위한 기초 자료 뿐만 아니라 식생학적 접근을 통한 장기 모니터링의 기초지표로 활용될 것으로 판단되었다.

Elevational distribution ranges of vascular plant species in the Baekdudaegan mountain range, South Korea

  • The climate is changing rapidly, and this may pose a major threat to global biodiversity. One of the most distinctive consequences of climate change is the poleward and/or upward shift of species distribution ranges associated with increasing temperatures, resulting in a change of species composition and community structure in the forest ecosystems. The Baekdudaegan mountain range connects most forests from the lowland to the subalpine zone in South Korea and is therefore recognized as one of the most important biodiversity hotspots. This study was conducted to understand the distribution range of vascular plants along elevational gradients through field surveys in the six national parks of the Baekdudaegan mountain range. We identified the upper and lower distribution limits of a total of 873 taxa of vascular plants with 117 families, 418 genera, 793 species, 14 subspecies, 62 varieties, two forms, and two hybrids. A total of 12 conifers were recorded along the elevational gradient. The distribution ranges of Abies koreana, Picea jezoensis, Pinus pumila, and Thuja koraiensis were limited to over 1000 m above sea level. We also identified 21 broad-leaved trees in the subalpine zone. A total of 45 Korean endemic plant species were observed, and of these, 15 taxa (including Aconitum chiisanense and Hanabusaya asiatica) showed a narrow distribution range in the subalpine zone. Our study provides valuable information on the current elevational distribution ranges of vascular plants in the six national parks of South Korea, which could serve as a baseline for vertical shifts under future climate change.

우리나라 극한기후사상의 기후지역구분 (The classification of extreme climate events in the Republic of Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라의 극한고온, 극한저온, 극한강수의 발생 빈도 및 규모를 지역별로 분석하고 이에 대한 기후지역을 구분하였다. 열대일수는 해안보다 내륙에서 많았고, 서리일수는 고도와 위도의 특성이 잘 나타났다. 호우 일수는 남해안과 제주도에서 많았고, 경상북도 일대에서 적게 나타났다. 이후 주성분 분석과 군집분석을 통해 연구기간의 전 후반기 시기별 변화와 최근 30년 평균(1981~2010년)에 대한 극한기후지수에 대한 기후지역을 구분하였다. 열대일수의 경우 남북 방향으로 구분된 특징을 보였으며, 서리일수는 동해안 및 서해안, 제주도가 하나의 지역으로 구분되었고 호우일수는 경기도 및 강원도 이남 지역에서 동서 방향으로 구분된 특징을 보였다. 본 연구를 통하여 다양한 분야에서 기후변화 적응 및 완화에 대한 대응체계 마련에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

토지이용/피복(LULC) 데이터를 이용한 도시기후구역의 적용가능성 분석 (Application and Usability Analysis of Local Climate Zone using Land-Use/Land-Cover(LULC) Data)

  • 효율적인 공간계획은 기후변화에 성공적으로 대응하기 위해 필요한 요소 중 하나이다. 연구자들은 흔히 토지이용 및 공간계획 연구를 수행하기 위해 LULC(Land-Use/Land-Cover) 데이터를 활용하고 있다. 그러나 LULC 데이터는 어떠한 도시 표면의 특징을 분류할 수 있는 조건이 몇 가지로 한정되어 있어 여러 도시에서 나타나는 각기 다른 도시구조를 기존 토지피복 분류법으로는 쉽게 분석할 수 없다. 이러한 토지피복 자료의 한계는 도시 열섬 분야에서 사용되는 LCZ(Local Climate Zone) 자료를 통해 극복될 것으로 보인다. 따라서 본 연구는 먼저 LCZ 데이터가 도시 열섬 분야뿐만 아니라 다른 분야에도 적용될 수 있는지를 논의하고, 두 번째로 LCZ 데이터가 기존 LULC 데이터의 문제점을 동일하게 가지는지 논의하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 방법론은 크게 두 가지로 진행된다. 첫째, 문헌고찰을 통해 LCZ와 관련된 기후, 토지이용, 도시공간구조 분야의 연구를 종합하여 현재 어떤 연구에 LCZ 데이터가 활용되고 있는지, 토지이용과 도시공간구조 분야에서 어떻게 적용·활용될 수 있는지 분석한다. 다음으로 GIS 공간분석을 활용하여 LCZ 데이터도 역시 LULC 데이터에 내재한 몇 가지 오류를 공유하고 있는지에 대해 비교·분석한다.

미국 잠정종자이동구역(Seed transfer zone) 개념의 국내 적용 방안 (A Study on the Domestic Appllication of the Concept of Seed Transfer Zone in the U.S)

  • The seed zone is a map that describes the areas where plant material can be transferred with little risk for properly adapting to a new location. The seed zone study is largely divided into studies based on genetic data and studies based on climatic data. Can be. This study was conducted to establish a temporary domestic seed zone applicable to the entire Korean Peninsula and evaluate its possibility based on the US climate-based seed zone establishment methodology. The temporary seed zone was constructed in the same way as the US case by superimposing the data obtained by dividing the winter minimum temperature into 12 grades and the data obtained by dividing the annual heat: moisture index into 6 grades. As a result of the analysis, 65 temporary seed zones were formed throughout the Korean Peninsula, and the areas of the seed zones representing the smallest and largest areas were 3.0km2 and 29,423.0km2, respectively, and it was confirmed that they had an average size of about 5,064.9km2. Temporary seed zones applied in Korea show a pattern of changes in temperature according to the relatively horizontal forest zone, and it was confirmed that the area where the Baekdu-daegan ecological axis is located has a tendency to show lower dryness than other areas. This study applied the US climate-based seed zone methodology in Korea as a pilot, and confirmed the climatic similarity across the Korean Peninsula. Furthermore, it is expected to provide an optimal seed map that improves the success rate of restoration in the future by revising the seed zone grade suitable for the domestic environment in consideration of the results of this study and the possibility of seed adaptation to the field survey and environmental space.

京畿道 彭城地域의 土炭의 花紛分析 (A Pollen Analysis on the Peat of Paengsung Area, Kyonggi-do)

  • Pollen analysis on a 320cm core collected from paengsung area (36°56′50"N, 127°03′10"E) in southwesterm korea was carried out to investigate the changes in past climate and vegetation in that area. In this research it was found that pollen zones are divided into two layers of substage IIb and IIc. Pollen zone IIb, the lower layer, was dominated by high percentages of deciduous broadleaved trees such as alnus, Quercus, Corylus, Betula, Carpinus and Salix. Trapa, Typhaceae and Nymphaceae growing in wet habitat and Chenpodiaceae were pornounced amont the nonrboreal pollens. At that time, it seems that it was warmer and more humid than present. In pollen zone IIc, the upper layer, pollen of Pinun was dominant and those of Artemisia, Gramineae, Compositae, Cyperaceae and spore increased while of Quercus, Betula and Nymphaceae decreased. It is supposed that the climate of this zone was drier that the lower laywer.

수문기상 관측정보를 활용한 안동댐 유역 기후권역 구분 및 분석 (Analyzing Climate Zones Using Hydro-Meteorological Observation Data in Andong Dam Watershed, South Korea)

  • Watershed area can be submerged due to constructions and management of dams, and these change can impact not only on ecosystem and environment of river basin area but also on local climate. This study is conducted to construct and classify climate zones of Andong Dam watershed where the area is submerged due to the construction of the dam. By applying Principal Components Analysis (PCA) and Getis-Ord $Gi^*$ statistics, three climate zones were classified for the result. Each zone was then analyzed and validated with climatic and geological features including topography, land cover, and forest type map. As a result of the analysis, there was a difference in temperature, elevation, precipitation and tree species distribution among the zones. Also, an analysis of land cover map showed that there were more agricultural land near Andong Reservoir. This study on the climatic classification is considered to be useful as the basis for decision-making or policy enforcement regarding ecosystem, environmental management or climate change response.
