수영장 청소 로봇 개발 및 청소성능지표 (Development of a Pool Cleaning Robot and its Cleaning Performance Evaluation)

  • In this paper, developing of a pool cleaning robot is addressed. First, we analyze commercial pool cleaning robot mechanisms, and the merits and demerits of wireless version of a pool cleaning robot is introduced. And then the water-jet moving mechanism for a pool cleaning robot is proposed to improve energy efficiency and mechanical design advantage, which is one of the strong candidates for wireless pool cleaning robots. Next, the method of cleaning performance evaluation of pool cleaning robots is firstly defined with five key factors, and it was verified by experimental results. If the cleaning performance can be quantitatively defined, we can design optimally a pool cleaning robot, which results in the cost down.

  • This paper describes the performance index of mobile robot and development of testbed which is used to evaluate the index. The developed testbed has rectangular structure similar to a living room of home. It is semi-automation testbed system for evaluation of cleaning performance index. This system is composed with scattering and cleaning equipment of test materials, equipment rifting of objects in inner space and sides itself, vision processing system. To be consistent of performance evaluation of cleaning robot, we make use of camera in this system for the sake of measurement of robot s mobility, path and suction quantity.

  • To support the expansion of the autonomous robot market, the establishment of evaluation standards of the robot performance are essential. In this paper, to venture the standardization of the performance evaluation of the autonomous robot, the authors take the autonomous cleaning robot(ACR) as the initial stepping stone. Recently, the ACR has been being developed and marketed actively in many countries including Korea and it believes to be the fore-runner among various types of autonomous robot products. Standards of the performance evaluation for the ACR could be easily modified and applied to other autonomous robots. This paper formulates and suggests a group of standards for the performance evaluation based on a evaluation platform for the ACR. The newly developed performance evaluation platform has been designed to include all the important aspects of living environments in reality. In the platform the performance of the ACR is measured in terms of mobility, cleaning performance, avoidance of obstruction(safety), and operation noise. A few commercially available ACR products are collected and tested in the evaluation platform and compared against the performance evaluation standards formulated.

Hydrodynamic design of an underwater hull cleaning robot and its evaluation

  • An underwater hull cleaning robot can be a desirable choice for the cleaning of large ships. It can make the cleaning process safe and economical. This paper presents a hydrodynamic design of an underwater cleaning robot and its evaluation for an underwater ship hull cleaning robot. The hydrodynamic design process of the robot body is described in detail. Optimal body design process with compromises among conflicting design requirements is given. Experimental results on the hydrodynamic performance of the robot are given.

지하철 공기청정을 위한 2유체노즐형 자동세정 공기청정 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Performance Evaluation of Automatic Self-Cleaning Filter System using Twin-Fluid Nozzles for Air Cleaning in the Subway Stations)

  • The removal of the dusts in the subway stations, tunnels, factories and buildings becomes issue for comfortable indoor and outdoor conditions. There has been used an automatic self-cleaning filter system to collect the dusts. In general, the collected particles are removed by water spray nozzles. The new design for improving the cleaning efficiency of collected dusts and reducing the supplied water is the concept of the plane array of demister filters and the twin-fluid nozzle for mixing compressed air and water in the automatic self-cleaning filter system. Results show that the cleaning efficiency of twin-nozzle filter systems is 99.1%, compared to 47% in the conventional filter system. Therefore the automatic self-cleaning filter system using twin-fluid nozzle filter systems reduces water supplied in the filter system, and increases cleaning efficiency and drying efficiency.

대체 세정제의 선정을 위한 세정성 평가방법 연구 (A Study on the Cleanliness Evaluation Methods for the Selection of Alternative Cleaning Agents)

  • 본 연구에서는 산업체에서 대체 세정제를 객관적이고 체계적으로 선정하는데 도움을 주고자 여러 가지 세정성 평가방법을 실험을 통하여 비교 평가하였다. 세정성 평가방법으로는 중량법, OSEE (optically simulated electron emission)법, 접촉각법과 FTIR, UV-VIS, HPLC와 같은 정밀분석기기를 이용한 분석법을 사용하여 flux, solder, grease 등의 오염물질에 대한 세정성 평가를 수행하였다. 그 결과 중량법은 쉽고 간단하게 세정제의 세정효율을 측정할 수 있었지만 중량측정의 한계로 정밀측정이 어려웠다. 반면에 OSEE법은 세정제의 세정성 평가를 빠르고 정밀하게 수행할 수 있었다. 접촉각 측정법은 피세정물 표면에 오염물질과 세정제에 의한 얇은 친유성 막의 형성으로 인하여 접촉각 변화에 영향을 주기 때문에 세정성 평가에 특별한 주의가 요구되었다. 중량법으로 수행하기 어려운 정밀세정성 평가의 경우 UV-VIS, FTIR, HPLC와 같은 정밀분석기기를 이용하여 피세정물에 잔류한 flux, solder, grease 등의 극미량의 오염물을 특수 용제로 추출하여 아주 작은 농도의 오염물을 정량분석할 수 있었다.

중고 레이저 복합기의 재제조 공정에서 초음파세정을 위한 대체 세정제의 선정 (Selection of Alternative Cleaning Agents for Ultrasonic Cleaning Process in Remanufacturing of Used Laser Copy Machine)

  • 본 연구에서는 중고 디지털 레이저 복합기의 재제조 과정에 초음파세정공정을 도입하기 위하여 예비실험을 통하여 여러 가지 세정제의 세정성을 평가하고 초음파 세정공정의 공정 변수를 변화시키며 최적의 세정제와 공정변수를 도출하였다. 우선 기존에 현장에서 사용되어 지고 있던 세정제보다 세정효율이 뛰어나고 사용하기 좋은 제품을 찾고자 기존 세정제 (A)와 시판되고 있는 7종의 세정제(B~H)를 선정하여 육안판정법을 이용한 오염물질(유성오일, 토너가루, 구두약)에 대한 세정성 평가를 수행하였다. 또한 선별과정으로 물성 명가 및 거품성 실험을 진행하였다. 각 오염물질에 대한 세정제의 세정성 평가에서 기존에 사용되어지던 A세정제보다 G세정제가 뛰어난 세정효율을 보여주었고, 거품성 평가에서 기존 세정제와 유사한 거품성을 나타내었다. 실제 오염된 레이저 복합기 부품들을 대상으로 예비실험에서 우수한 세정능력을 보여준 세정제를 사용하고 초음파 주파수와 세정시간을 변화시키며 최적 공정변수들을 도출하였다. 28 kHz의 초음파 세정을 이용하여 현장적용을 한 결과 G세정제가 A세정제보다 뛰어난 세정효율을 보여주어 디지털 레이저 복합기 재제조 과정에서의 세정제로서 G세정제가 적합하다고 판단되며 전체적인 재제조 공정의 생산성 및 경제성 향상이 기대된다.

전기역학적 스크린을 이용한 집진판 표면 위 입자 세정성능 연구 (A study on cleaning performance of particles on collection plates using an electrodynamic screen)

  • An electrostatic precipitator (ESP) has a low pressure drop and a high collection efficiency but its collection efficiency can be reduced due to dust accumulation on the collection plates during long-term operations. In order to maintain the initial dust collection efficiency, it is necessary to periodically clean the collection plates. The common cleaning methods are using physical impacts or water sprays. These cleaning methods can lead to damage to the collection plate or generate wastewater. Herein, we implemented an electrodynamic screen (EDS) for ESP cleaning and evaluated its surface cleaning performance of particles. The EDS is an electrostatic system that can electrostatically repel particles on surfaces, allowing it to clean the ESP without causing damage and wastewater generation. Our evaluation included the analysis of the effects of AC voltage characteristics, electrode configuration and environmental conditions on the cleaning performance of the EDS with the aim of achieving effective surface cleaning. It has been demonstrated that activating the EDS cleans up to 65% of the particles on the surface, which indicates about 94% of our target cleaning zone.
