우리나라 동남부 지역의 열수광상에 대한 광물학적 및 광상학적 연구 : (1) 양산지역의 "납석" 광상 (Mineralogy and Genesis of Hydrothermal Deposits in the Southeastern Part of Korean Peninsula: (1) "Napseok" Deposits in Yangsan Area)

  • Mineralogy of clay(Napseok) deposits in Yangsan area has been studied by the methods of field investigation and laboratory works including the polarizing microscopy, X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, thermal analysis, chemical analysis by electron micro-probe and atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and electron microscopy(SEM and TEM). The Napseok ores in both the Cheonbulsan and Yongcheon deposits consist mainly of sericite, pyrophyllite and quartz, with more or less tourmaline. The high temperature minerals such as corundum and dumortierite are found in the Cheonbulsan deposit, but not in the Yongcheon deposits. Dickite, nacrite, and halloysite are found in the Yongcheon deposit, but not in the Cheonbulsan deposit. The Napseok ores of the Yukwang deposit consist of sericite posits in the Yangsan area. Occurrence, chemistry and structural features of important minerals are described. Mineralogical data of sericite such as intensity raios and chemistry also support that the Napseok deposits of both the Chenobulsan and Yongcheon mines were formed at the higher temperature than those of the Yukwang mine. Presence of sericite-dickite-pyrophyllite ores in the Yongcheon deposit also suggests the lower temperautre than in the Cheonbulsan deposit.

부산 고결점토의 변형률 의존적 동적거동특성에 관한 연구 (Strain-dependent dynamic properties of cemented Busan clay)

  • Thick soft clay deposits which are generally located at the west and south coast of the Korean peninsula have complicated characteristics according to their orientation and formation history. Thus, several geotechnical problems could possibly occur when those soft clay deposits are used as foundations for marine structures. Deep cement mixing (DCM) method is one of the most widely used soft soil improvement method for various marine structures, nowadays. DCM method injects binders such as cement into the soft ground directly and mixes with the in-situ soil to improve the strength and other geotechnical properties sufficiently. However, the natural impacts induced by dynamic motions such as ocean waves, wind, typhoon, and tusnami give significant influences on the stability of marine structures and their underlaying foundations. Thus, the dynamic properties become important design criteria to insure the seismic stability of marine structures. In this study, the dynamic behavior of cemented Busan clay is evaluated. Laboratory unconfined compression test and resonant column test are performed on natural in-situ soil and cement mixed specimens to confirm the strength and strain-dependent dynamic behavior variation induced by cement mixing treatment. Results show that the unconfined compressive strength and shear modulus increase with curing time and cement content increment. Finally, the optimized cement mixing ratio for sufficient dynamic stability is obtained through this study. The results of this study are expected to be widely used to improve the reliability of seismic design for marine structures.

남한강 중류 하성고위면의 고적색토 (Paleo-red Soil on the High Fluvial Surface in the Middle Basin of Nam-Han River)

  • 본 연구는 남한강 중류의 좌안에 분포하는 하성 고위면의 지형특성과 그 단구퇴적층을 모재로 발달한 토양특성을 밝히는데 있다. 조사토양인 적색토는 토양의 형태적, 물리 화학적 및 점토광물의 특성으로 보아 적색토로 분류된다. 토양특성과 고위면의 지형적 특성으로 보아 본 적색토는 제4기의 현재와는 다른 생물 기후환경차에서 탈규산화 작용과 적색토화 작용에 의하여 생성된 고적색토로 사료된다.

  • Cement-stabilized clay has widespread applications in Deep Mixing projects, whereby soft deep clay deposits are improved through the addition of cement. While much research on this subject has taken place over the past decade, the strength and deformation behaviour of cement-stabilized clay is still not well understood. An extensive laboratory program was conducted on kaolin stabilized with up to 10% cement. Water curing was employed for durations up to 112 days. To study the microstructure of raw and stabilized soil, use is made of SEM. Micrographs of selected raw and stabilized soil were obtained. These micrographs were closely analyzed for any change in the microstructure of the soil as a result of stabilization.

부산 보배광상에서의 점토지질온도계의 적용 (Application of Clay Mineral Geothermometry in the Bobae Mine, Pusan, Southeastern Korea)

  • Clay mineral geothermometry using sericites and chlorites in Bobae sericite mine reveals that these clay minerals formed at relatively high temperature. It appears that sericites formed at around $200{\sim}350^{\circ}C$ and chlorites formed at around $250^{\circ}C$. X-ray diffraction study of these minerals reveals that sericite 2M, type and chlorite lib type are dominant phases. Both polytypes indicate that the precipitation temperatures of these minerals shows fairly good agreement with the estimated temperature by clay mineral geothermometry. The Bobae sericite mine was formed at relatively higher temperature than several non-metal ore deposits occurred in the southern part of Korea.

Investigation of Spudcan Penetration Resistance in Layered Soil Deposits

  • A suite of 3D large deformation finite element (FE) analyses was performed to investigate the load transfer mechanism and penetration resistance of spudcan foundations in heterogeneous soil profile consisting of sand and clay. The Elasto-Plastic models following Mohr-Coulomb and Tresca failure criteria were adopted for sand and clay, respectively. The accuracy of the numerical model was validated against centrifuge test measurements. The dense sand behavior with dilation is modeled using the non-associated flow rule. An investigation study consisting of key parameters, which includes variation in soil stratigraphy (sand-clay, sand-clay-sand), strength parameters of sand and clay (��' and su) and normalized height ratio of the sand layer (Hs/D) was conducted to assess the penetration behavior of spudcan. Based on calculated outputs, it was demonstrated that these parameters have a significant influence on the penetration resistance of spudcan. The calculated penetration resistance profiles are compared with the published (sand overlying clay) analytical model. It is confirmed that for the case of two-layer soil, the available theoretical model provides an accurate estimate of peak penetration resistance (qpeak). In the case of three-layer soil, the presence of a third stiff layer affects the penetration resistance profile due to the squeezing of the soil.

경안천 유역 하성면에 발달한 토양 특성 (Soil Characteristics on the Fluvial Surface in the Basin of Kyeongan-cheon (Stream))

  • 본 연구는 경안천 유역에 발달한 유물 지형인 하성면의 퇴적층을 모재로 하여 형성된 토양 특성을 밝히는 데 있다. 조사 지점의 적색토의 A층은 적갈색(5YR/4/3)의 미사질식토로 발달도가 미약한 아각괴상 내지 입상 구조이다. B층은 황적색(5YR4/3) 내지 명적색(2.5YR4/6)의 미사질식토로 발달도가 약한 아각괴상 구조를 보이며 적색의 점토 피막과 망간결핵이 나타나는 점토 집적층의 특징을 갖는 argillie층이다. 토층은 $A_1-B_{1t}-B_{2t}-C$ 층으로 되어있다. 하성 고위면의 퇴적층을 모재로 발달한 본토양은 과거 제4기의 온난한 생물기후 상태하에서 이루어진 강력한 탈규산화 작용과 염기용탈 및 적색토화 작용에 의하여 생성된 고적색토의 일종으로 판단된다. 따라서 본 적색토는 현재보다 온난한 생물-기후상태하에서 탈규산화를 동반하는 적색토화 작용에 의하여 형성된 고적색토로 판단된다.

피에조 콘과 딜라토메터 시험을 이용한 연약지반의 현장특성 비교 (Comparison of Tn-situ Characteristics of Soft Deposits Using Piezocone and Dilatometer)

  • 대상 연약지반의 적절한 개량기술 선택과 개량 효과들을 평가, 관리하기 위해서는 현장 연약 점토지반 특성을 정확히 평가할 수 있는 적절한 현장 시험기법의 적용이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 여러 현장시험 방법 중에 경제적이면서도 효과적인 것으로 알려져 국내에서 그 수요가 증가하고 있는 피에조 콘(piezocone)과 딜라토메터(dilatometer)를 이용하여 연약지반의 현장 물성을 평가하고 비교하였다. 연구결과 두 장비 모두 유사한 흙 분류 결과를 제공하였으나. 특히 간극수압으로부터 도출한 흙 분류 결과가 연약점토층 사이에 실트나 모래층 들이 산재한 우리나라 실정에 보다 적절하며 일관성 있는 결과를 주는 것으로 평가되었다. 점토층의 비배수 전단강도는 피에조 콘의 경우 간극수압과 선단저항력으로부터 도출된 간들이 유사하였고 딜라토메터로부터 추정된 비배수 전단강도는 피에조 콘의 두 관측 값으로 유추된 결과들의 평균간에 근접한 것으로 평가되었다. 그리고 실트 또는 모래층이 산재하는 경우 연약지반의 압밀특성을 평가하기 위해서는 관입과정에서 유발되는 소산효과를 고려한 이론적 시간계수가 보다 적절한 것으로 평가된다.

  • Understanding of an accurate state of consolidation of underconsolidated clay body, like a recently dredged or reclaimed clay deposits, is one of the most difficult tasks. The estimation of the consolidation status of these clay bodies is often made by laboratory tests of numerical analyses. However these methods demonstrated crucial limitations in the accurate prediction. Therefore, the predicted degree of consolidation from various techniques is verified by actual measured field data. The degree of consolidation of clay body in the East Side Hinterland of Gwangyang Port(2nd Phase) is evaluated in this study by using various techniques such as oedometer test, CPTu, numerical analysis and piezometer tests etc. And the results are compared each other to find the most reliable prediction technique. The merit and reliability of each method is discussed in detail. It is revealed from in this study that the estimation of degree of consolidation by an actual pore water pressure measurements is the most reliable technique.
