  • The purpose of this study is to establish fundamental standards of architectural planning concerning special class facilities in order to offer the basic information on the appropriate spatial organization of the special classroom by looking at the relationship between learning activities and living activities and the existing spatial organization. At present, there are no proper architectural standards which correspond to special class children's handicap and it's various characteristics. The special classes are just using ordinary classrooms without a considerations of the children with manifold handicap. In this sense, this study deals with appropriate special class facilities corresponding to the various characteristics of children's handicap, the contacting activities of special children with ordinary children and finally proper environment for the mainstreaming education which special education pursues.

  • This study is based on the need to reform mixed use plan of school facilities considering the characteristics of depressed downtown area. It started with the object to make a plan by deducting function of place required and corresponded to the characteristics of depressed downtown area in Pohang city. As the result of researching present status and the characteristics of six elementary schools in Pohang which the number of student has decreased, it is found that they are required to have change in the region of depressed downtown area which have fallen behind and obsolete school facilities which idle classrooms have increased and to have reformations of a city are characterized by 5 types as poor life environment, lack of cultural facilities as community institution, poor open-space and ecological environment, non-activation of conventional market and contraction of commerce industry by outflow of industry, transfer of administration operation function and etc. and the region of school under researching shows these characteristics. I planed the mixed use program with factors of local community facility, status of school facility use and depressed area's characteristics. Finally, I propose the mixed use plan of school facilities as the strong point of sustainable development which influences on and be influenced by regional characteristics and structure of city.

영국의 초등 수학 교과서 분석 연구 (An Analytic Stildy on Mathematics Textbooks of British Primary School)

  • 현재 우리나라에서는 제7차 교육과정 개정부터 열린 교육의 일환으로 수준별 수학 교과서를 제작하기로 하고 여러 가지 준비를 하고 있다. 본고에서는 이러한 수준별 수학 교과서가 가장 잘 운영되고 있는 영국의 초등학교 수학 교과서를 분석 연구하였다. 분석 대상 교과서는 1996년 연구자가 영국을 방문하여 구한 수학 교과서 중 제1, 3, 4, 5 단계에 해당한다.

초등학교 교사의 교실환경 인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Elementary School Teachers' Perceptions of Classroom Environments)

  • This study aimed to identify elementary school teachers' perceptions of various aspects of physical environments of a classroom. For the purpose, a survey questionnaire was administered to 982 classroom teachers(female 82.2%) working at 67 elementary schools(Seoul 55%) located in Seoul and Busan. According to the analyses of the survey data, 50.8% of the respondent teachers suggested 20-25 as an optimum class size. Also, 57% of the teachers were positive about the current size of a classroom($67.5m^2$), but evaluations of a classroom size were divided between the teachers who had more and less than 30 students in class. Furthermore, three factors, labelled as 'uniqueness', 'residential stability' and 'visually pleasing', were extracted from a factor analysis of the Semantic Differential Scale consisting of 24 adjectives evaluating a classroom environment. Teachers from Busan tended to rate higher in the uniqueness domain while female teachers scored higher in the domain of residential stability, respectively, compared to their counterparts. Overall, the teachers perceived their classrooms having no particular characteristics, but rated highly in terms of stability. In addition, it was found out that the teachers' requests for the improvement of a classroom environment were not so much as the increased size of a classroom as a reduced class size as well as educational facilities that are corresponding to a variety of instructional methods. In summary, this study confirmed that elementary school teachers' perceptions of a classroom environment varied according to such factors as sex, teaching career, grade of their concerned class, and class size.

기초자치단체가 설립한 학교-공공 통합형 도서관 운영사례 -강남구립 학교전자도서관의 경우를 중심으로 - (A Case Study on Combined School-Public Library of Gangnam-gu)

  • 서울의 강남구청에서는 2001년 9월부터 2002년 10월까지 15개 초등학교에 학교전자도서관을 설치하여 학생은 물론 주민들에게 도서관 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 학교에서는 빈교실만 제공하고, 운영인력과 운영비는 모두 강남구청에서 지원하고 있다. 이것은 기초자치단체가 설립한 일종의 학교-공공통합형 도서관이며, 이와 같은 통합형도서관은 학교도서관과 공공도서관이 부족한 우리나라의 경우 양 도서관의 활성화를 위한 좋은 방안이 될 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 서울 강남구청에서 자체예산으로 설립한 학교전자도서관의 운영 상태와 이용만족도를 조사, 평가함으로써 학교-공공통합형 도서관의 가능성을 탐색하고, 이를 학교도서관과 공공도서관의 협력모델의 하나로 제시하고자 한다.

경기 일부지역 초등학교에서 담임교사의 영양교육 실시와 3~6학년생의 식생활지침 준수 정도 (Adherence to Dietary Guidelines for Elementary School Children According to Homeroom Teachers' Nutrition Education)

  • Homeroom teachers are not usually nutrition professionals, but they spend a lot of time with students in elementary school classrooms. This study was conducted to determine the association of homeroom teachers' nutrition education with the dietary habits of their classroom children. The subjects were 131 homeroom teachers and their 1,102 children from 17 elementary schools in Gyeonggi, Korea. Self-administered questionnaires to collect information on dietary habits were conducted in December 2016. The dietary habits were determined with the adherences to the Dietary Guidelines for Adults and Children, respectively, by coding the better diet life with a higher score. The significances between groups according to teachers' implementation of nutrition education (106 implemented, 25 not implemented) were analyzed by using SPSS at P<0.05. Implementing nutrition education was not associated with the dietary habits of teachers themselves, but their students. Therefore, the students of teachers who implemented nutrition education had significantly higher adherence to 8 items out of 19 items (P<0.05, P<0.01). More of the students considered themselves as non-picky eaters (P<0.05), tried to eat all the foods served at school lunch even when it contained unwanted ingredients (P<0.01), and agreed on the need of nutrition education (P<0.01), as compared to their counterparts. Conclusively, this study suggests that nutrition education delivered by homeroom teachers may be associated with more desirable dietary habits of students, even though homeroom teachers are not nutrition professionals. Therefore, efforts should be undertaken to develop and provide proper contents for homeroom teachers to use in nutrition education for elementary students.

사회성 측정(sociometry)을 활용한 학생의 사회성 개선 효과 검증 (An Empirical Analysis on the Effectiveness of Students' Sociability Improvement using Sociometry)

  • The purpose of this study was to actually analyze students' sociability using sociometry and effectiveness of students' sociability improvement. To accomplish this purpose, subjects of this study were selected as follow. First, how students' sociability style are actually identified. And second, when teachers give additional concern, opportunity, care, praise to experiment group(reject, isolate, neglectee), what is the effectiveness of students' sociability improvement. As sampling, from fourth to sixth grades 270 students(215 control group, 55 experiment group) of 8 classrooms of 8 elementary schools were sampled. As a tool of investigation, questionnaires about students' sociability style and effectiveness of sociability improvement had made by researcher of this study were used. And as processing of data, ANCOVA were used. The result of this study is as follow. When teachers gave additional concern, opportunity, care, praise to experiment group(reject, isolate, neglectee), students' sociability were improved. In other words, student's self-concept, proactive behavior, human relationship were improved significantly.

  • 본 연구는 초·중등학교의 유휴시설 활용에 적합한 지역사회 생활 SOC 사업의 종류와 운영 제안을 하기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 일본 유휴교실 및 폐교 활용 사례 분석을 통해 지역적 특성에 따른 바람직한 활용 시설의 종류와 운영 방안을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 구도심 및 읍면등 주민의 접근성이 우수한 지역의 경우 주민의 생활편의시설의 일환인 도서관, 창업상담 및 전시공간 및 평생교육 등이 바람직하고 인구 감소가 높은 면 지역 등 농·산촌 지역의 경우 지역사회 전통 체험 교육장 등 가족과 함께 할 수 있는 시설들이 활용되고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

초등학생의 또래거부와 괴롭힘 피해행동의 관련성: 학급 갈등규범의 조절효과 (The relationship between peer rejection and victimization in elementary school classrooms in South Korea: The moderating effect of conflict norms)

  • 본 연구는 또래거부와 괴롭힘 피해행동의 관계에 대한 학급 갈등규범의 조절효과를 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 클래스넷 3차년도 데이터의 일부로서, 전국 소재 총 초등학교 7개교, 52개 학급의 4~6학년 학생 1,194명을 연구대상으로 하며, 또래지명 방식으로 측정한 또래거부, 괴롭힘 피해행동, 괴롭힘 가해행동, 교사-학생 갈등 변인을 활용하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 남학생이 여학생에 비해 괴롭힘 피해행동 수준이 높았으며, 또래거부와 괴롭힘 피해행동은 유의한 정적 관련성이 있었다. 둘째, 학급 갈등규범은 학급마다 유의한 차이가 있었고 괴롭힘 피해행동의 학급 차이도 유의하였다. 셋째, 다층분석 결과에 의하면, 또래거부가 많을수록, 괴롭힘 피해행동은 유의하게 증가하였다. 또한 갈등규범 수준이 높은 학급에서 괴롭힘 피해행동 수준도 높았다. 특히 또래거부와 괴롭힘 피해행동의 관계는 학급의 갈등규범 수준이 조절하였다. 즉, 갈등규범 수준이 낮은 학급에 비해, 갈등규범이 높은 학급에서 또래거부는 괴롭힘 피해행동 수준을 유의하게 증가시켰다. 본 연구결과를 토대로, 또래거부가 괴롭힘 피해행동으로 이어지는 과정에서 학급 갈등규범의 중요성을 확인하였고 담임교사의 역할에 대해 교육적 시사점을 논의하였다.

학교식당 및 교실배식 과정 전·후 미생물 오염에 관한 연구 (Assessment Report of Bacterial Contamination in Some School Dining Services with Table Swabs and Air Samples)

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate microbial contamination in the school food service environment for the assessment of microbial food safety. Methods: We collected both swab samples from tables and desks and airborne bacterial samples from an elementary school (School A) and a high school (School B). Heterotrophic plate count, total coliform, Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus cereus were measured with selective media to quantify microbial concentration. PCR assay targeting 16S rRNA genes was performed to identify the strains of S. aureus and B. cereus isolated. In addition, we made a food service checklist for the locations to evaluate the food service environment. A Wilcoxon test was employed to examine the differences in microbial concentration between before lunchtime and afterwards. Results: Heterotrophic plate counts showed higher levels after-lunch compared to before-lunch at School B. However, levels of S. aureus were higher in the after-lunch period (p<0.05) in both classrooms and in the cafeteria in School A. B. cereus was only sparsely detected in School B. Several samples from food dining carts were found to be contaminated with bacteria, and facilities associated with food delivery were found to be vulnerable to bacterial contamination. Although microbial concentrations in the air showed little difference between before- and after-lunchtime in the cafeteria in School A, those in classrooms were greater after-lunchtime at both schools. Conclusion: Our results suggested that the microbial safety in schools after lunchtime of concern. Necessary preventive measures such as hygiene education for students and food handlers should be required to minimize microbial contamination during food service processes in schools.
