  • Power Quality(PQ) problems are various owing to a wide variety of causes so detection and classification of many kinds of PQ problems are awkward. Almost all studies about it were about getting good results by Neural Networks(NN) which get input features from as random variables, FFT and wavelet transform. However they are discontented with results because it is very difficult to classify all PQ items. A study about feature extraction becomes needed. Thus, this paper suggests effective way of using principle Component Analysis (PCA) for PQ Problem classification. PCA found more effective features among all features so it will help us to get more good result of classification.

  • In this work, six voiced/unvoiced speech classifiers based on the autocorrelation function (ACF), average magnitude difference function (AMDF), cepstrum, weighted ACF (WACF), zero crossing rate and energy of the signal (ZCR-E), and neural networks (NNs) have been simulated and implemented in real time using the TMS320C6713 DSP starter kit. These speech classifiers have been integrated into a linear-predictive-coding-based speech analysis-synthesis system and their performance has been compared in terms of the percentage of the voiced/unvoiced classification accuracy, speech quality, and computation time. The results of the percentage of the voiced/unvoiced classification accuracy and speech quality show that the NN-based speech classifier performs better than the ACF-, AMDF-, cepstrum-, WACF- and ZCR-E-based speech classifiers for both clean and noisy environments. The computation time results show that the AMDF-based speech classifier is computationally simple, and thus its computation time is less than that of other speech classifiers, while that of the NN-based speech classifier is greater compared with other classifiers.

  • In the development of a complex systems, the early prototypes generally have reliability problems, and, consequently these systems are subjected to a reliability growth program to find problems and take corrective action. A variety of models have been proposed to account for the reliability growth phenomena. Clear guidelines need to be established to assist the reliability engineers for model selection. In this paper, some of more well-known growth models are surveyed and classified. These models are classified based upon distinguishing model features. A procedure for model selection is introduced which is based on this classification.

  • In this study, we aim to use big data resources and statistical analysis to obtain a reliable instruction to reach high-quality and high yield agricultural yields. In this regard, soil type data, raining and temperature data as well as wheat production in each year are collected for a specific region. Using statistical methodology, the acquired data was cleaned to remove incomplete and defective data. Afterwards, using several classification methods in machine learning we tried to distinguish between different factors and their influence on the final crop yields. Comparing the proposed models' prediction using statistical quantities correlation factor and mean squared error between predicted values of the crop yield and actual values the efficacy of machine learning methods is discussed. The results of the analysis show high accuracy of machine learning methods in the prediction of the crop yields. Moreover, it is indicated that the random forest (RF) classification approach provides best results among other classification methods utilized in this study.

  • Video service providers tend to face user network problems in the process of transmitting video streams. They strive to provide user with superior video quality in a limited bitrate environment. It is necessary to accurately determine the target bitrate range of the video under different quality requirements. Recently, several schemes have been proposed to meet this requirement. However, they do not take the impact of visual influence into account. In this paper, we propose a new multi-category model to accurately predict the target bitrate range with target visual quality by machine learning. Firstly, a dataset is constructed to generate multi-category models by machine learning. The quality score ladders and the corresponding bitrate-interval categories are defined in the dataset. Secondly, several types of spatial-temporal features related to VMAF evaluation metrics and visual factors are extracted and processed statistically for classification. Finally, bitrate prediction models trained on the dataset by RandomForest classifier can be used to accurately predict the target bitrate of the input videos with target video quality. The classification prediction accuracy of the model reaches 0.705 and the encoded video which is compressed by the bitrate predicted by the model can achieve the target perceptual quality.

  • Traffic classification seeks to assign packet flows to an appropriate quality of service(QoS) class based on flow statistics without the need to examine packet payloads. Classification proceeds in two steps. Classification rules are first built by analyzing traffic traces, and then the classification rules are evaluated using test data. In this paper, we use self-organizing map and K-means clustering as unsupervised machine learning methods to identify the inherent classes in traffic traces. Three clusters were discovered, corresponding to transactional, bulk data transfer, and interactive applications. The K-nearest neighbor classifier was found to be highly accurate for the traffic data and significantly better compared to a minimum mean distance classifier.

  • Purpose: This study analyzes automobile quality review data to develop alternative analytical method of informal data. Existing methods to analyze informal data are based mainly on the frequency of informal data, however, this research tries to use correlation information of each informal data. Method: After sentimental analysis to acquire the user information for automobile products, three classification methods, that is, $na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes, random forest, and support vector machine, were employed to accurately classify the informal user opinions with respect to automobile qualities. Additionally, Word2vec was applied to discover correlated information about informal data. Result: As applicative results of three classification methods, random forest method shows most effective results compared to the other classification methods. Word2vec method manages to discover closest relevant data with automobile components. Conclusion: The proposed method shows its effectiveness in terms of accuracy and sensitivity on the analysis of informal quality data, however, only two sentiments (positive or negative) can be categorized due to human errors. Further studies are required to derive more sentiments to accurately classify informal quality data. Word2vec method also shows comparative results to discover the relevance of components precisely.
