Factors influencing class flow of dental hygiene students in dental hygiene care process (치위생(학)과 학생의 치위생관리과정 수업몰입 영향요인)

  • Objectives: This study provides basic data for developing practical teaching methods enabling efficient execution of the dental hygiene care process. Methods: A total of 197 dental hygiene students experienced in dental hygiene care process in Gwangju and Jeonnam were surveyed from June 1 to August 30, 2019 to study their class flow, professors-student relationships, and class satisfaction level. Post survey, statistical analysis was performed using frequency analysis, independent t-test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: 1. Class fl ow was high in three lecturers (3.56), four hours per week (3.39), and four hours per week (3.94). Class satisfaction was high in three lecturers (3.99) and four hours per week (3.90) (p<0.05). 2. There was a positive correlation between class flow and professor-student relationship (r=0.519), class fl ow and class satisfaction (r=0.566), and professor-student relationship and class satisfaction (r=0.838) (p<0.01). 3. The factors influencing class fl ow were the number of lecturers (β=0.442), class hours per week (β=-0.397), and class satisfaction (β=0.385). Conclusions: Apart from finding ways to improve class satisfaction for class flow in the dental hygiene care process, efforts are required to increase the number of lecturers and class hours per week for efficient class management. Further research is needed to develop practical teaching methods.

A CEPHALOMETRIC STUDY ON MESIODISTAL AXIAL INCLINATION OF POSTERIOR TEETH IN OPEN BITE AND DEEP BITE (개방교합과 과개교합에서 구치의 근원심 치축경사도에 관한 두부방사선계측학적 연구)

  • For the purpose of investigating mesiodistal axial inclination of posterior teeth in normal occlusion group, open bite and deep bite group and investigating the correlationship between the axial inclination of posterior teeth and overbite of anterior teeth, a cephalometric study was performed on the subjects consisted of normal occlusion group(40), open bite group(71 : Angle's Class I, Class II, division 1 25, Class III 25) and deep bite group(64 : Angle's Class I 23, Class II, division 1 21, Class III 20). Mesiodistal axial inclination of posterior teeth to occlusal, mandibular and palatal plane were measured. The findings of this study were as follows : 1. Upper and lower posterior teeth were more mesially inclined to occlusal plane in open bite group than in deep bite group. 2. Lower posterior teeth were more mesially inclined in deep bite group than in open bite group in Angle's Class II, division 1 malocclusion but there were no significant differences in Angle's Class I and Class III malocclusion. 3. There was no significant correlationship between the axial inclination of posterior teeth to each plane and overbite of anterior teeth in open bite group. 4. There was a significant correlationship between the axial inclination of upeer and lower second premolar to occlusal plane and overbite of anterior teeth in Angle's Class I, Class II, division 1 and Class III malocclusion.

A Study on Automatic Classification of Class Diagram Images (클래스 다이어그램 이미지의 자동 분류에 관한 연구)

  • UML class diagrams are used to visualize the static aspects of a software system and are involved from analysis and design to documentation and testing. Software modeling using class diagrams is essential for software development, but it may be not an easy activity for inexperienced modelers. The modeling productivity could be improved with a dataset of class diagrams which are classified by domain categories. To this end, this paper provides a classification method for a dataset of class diagram images. First, real class diagrams are selected from collected images. Then, class names are extracted from the real class diagram images and the class diagram images are classified according to domain categories. The proposed classification model has achieved 100.00%, 95.59%, 97.74%, and 97.77% in precision, recall, F1-score, and accuracy, respectively. The accuracy scores for the domain categorization are distributed between 81.1% and 95.2%. Although the number of class diagram images in the experiment is not large enough, the experimental results indicate that it is worth considering the proposed approach to class diagram image classification.

A Study on the Mental Health and Parental Efficacy of Mothers of Multicultural Adolescents: Focusing on Latent Profile Analysis

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the potential types of mental health of mothers of multicultural youth by applying Latent Profile Analysis, analyze the influence of predictors, and find out how differences in potential types affect parental efficacy. To this end, panel data for the 9th year (2019) of the Multicultural Youth Panel Survey (MAPS) were used. As a result of the analysis, first, the mental health types of mothers of multicultural adolescents were analyzed in the order of 'middle risk type of mental health'(class3) > 'high risk type of self-esteem'(class1) > 'high risk type of mental health'(class4) > 'cultural adaptation and daily life stress'(class2). Second, compared to the "class 1" group, the lower the family economy level of multicultural youth mothers, the lower the educational background of multicultural youth fathers (husbands) graduate from middle school, the lower the level of Korean, and the lower the level of communication with children, the higher the odds of belonging to the 'mental health medium risk' group (Ods). Third, compared to the 'middle risk type of mental health'(class3) and 'high risk type of mental health'(class4), the 'high risk type of self-esteem'(class1) group was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on parental efficacy.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of Teacher Participation-oriented Education Program (TPEP) for Elementary School Teachers to Improve Class Expertise in Science Classes with a focus on visual attention. The participants were two elementary school teachers in Seoul and taught science subjects. The lesson topic applied to this study were 'Structure and Function of Our Body' in the second semester of fifth grade and 'Volcano and Earthquake' in the second semester of fourth grade. The mobile eye tracker SMI's ETG 2w, which is a binocular tracking system was used in this study. In this study, the actual practice time, participant's visual attention, visual intake time average, and visual intake time average were analyzed by class phase. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the actual class execution time, the actual class execution time was almost in line with the lesson plan after the TPEP application. Second, visual attention in the areas related to teaching and learning activities was high after applying TPEP. Factors affecting the progress of the class and cognitive burdens were identified quantitatively and objectively through visual attention. Third, as a result of analyzing the visual intake time average of participants, there was a statistically significant difference in all classes. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the visual intake time average of participants, the results were statistically significant in the introduction(video), activity 1, activity 2, and activity 3 stages in the lecture type class. The Teacher Participation-oriented Education Program (TPEP) for Elementary School Teachers to Improve Class Expertise in Science Classes can extend elementary science class expertise such as self-class analysis, eye tracking, linguistic, gesture, and class design beyond traditional class analysis and consulting.

ROENTGENOGRAPHIC CEPHALOMETRIC STUDY OF ANGLE'S CLASS II, DIVISION 1 MALOCCLUSION IN KOREAN CHILDREN (한국인 성장기 아동에서 Angle씨 2급 1류 부정교합자의 골격 특징)

  • This study was designed to investigate the difference of teeth and craniofacial complex between normal occlusion and Angle's Class II, div. 1 malocclusion in Korean children. The sample was divided into 2 groups, the 66 subjects with normal occlusion and 96 subjects with Angle's Class II, div. 1 malocclusion in both sexes. The results obtained were as follows: 1. No significant differences were observed in ant. cranial base length & cranial flexure (saddle) angle) between normal occlusion & Angle's Class II, div. 1 malocclusion group, but posterior cranial base length of Class II, div. 1 malocclusion group was larger than that of normal occlusion group. 2. No significant difference was observed in the anteroposterior position of Maxilla to cranial base between two groups, but mandibular position in Class II, Div. 1 malocclusion was posterior and interior to that of normal occlusion. 3. The length of maxilla (ANS-PSN) was larger in Class II, div. 1 malocclusion than normal occlusion. The length of mandibular body (Go-Me) was nor different between Class II, div. 1 malocclusion and normal occlusion. 4. Maxillary incisor position of Class II, div. 1 malocclusion to cranial base was more protrusive than that of normal occlusion, but there was no difference in mandibular incisor position between two groups.

  • An operator $T{\in}L(H)$, is said to belong to k-quasi class $A_n^*$ operator if $$T^{*k}({\mid}T^{n+1}{\mid}^{\frac{2}{n+1}}-{\mid}T^*{\mid}^2)T^k{\geq}O$$ for some positive integer n and some positive integer k. First, we will see some properties of this class of operators and prove Weyl's theorem for algebraically k-quasi class $A_n^*$. Second, we consider the tensor product for k-quasi class $A_n^*$, giving a necessary and sufficient condition for $T{\otimes}S$ to be a k-quasi class $A_n^*$, when T and S are both non-zero operators. Then, the existence of a nontrivial hyperinvariant subspace of k-quasi class $A_n^*$ operator will be shown, and it will also be shown that if X is a Hilbert-Schmidt operator, A and $(B^*)^{-1}$ are k-quasi class $A_n^*$ operators such that AX = XB, then $A^*X=XB^*$. Finally, we will prove the spectrum continuity of this class of operators.

Effectiveness of G-Learning Math Class in Increase of Math Achievement of K-5 Students in USA (G러닝 수학 수업이 미국 초등학교 5학년 학생의 수학 성취도 향상에 미치는 영향)

  • This study suggests effects and procedure of G-Learning math class which had implemented toward a class of K-5 for 6 weeks in La Ballona elementary school located in Culver City, LA in USA. For designing G-Learning math class, developing the G-Learning contents, constructing teaching and learning model, publishing the teacher and student's book and conducting teacher training were carried out. As for the results, the achievement score of G-Learning class rose 12 points which marked higher improvement than the compare class. Also in G-Learning class, the score of 1/3 lower achievement group increased 22 points and 1/3 higher achievement group rose 9 points with statistical significance. Moreover, after G-Learning math class, interest and awareness to effectiveness toward G-Learning math was positively increased.

A ROENTGENOCEPHALOMETRIC STUDY ON THE REST POSITION OF THE MANDIBLE IN MALOCCLUSION (부정교합자의 하악안정위에 관한 두부 X선학적 연구)

  • In orthodontic view points, there were a few attempts to describe on the mandibular rest position with roentgenocephalometric studies for the persons with malocclusion. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate and interpret the difference in each of the Angle's classification of the malocclusion. The author has selected 115 malocclusion patients of the both sexes as subjects, whose dental ages were from III A. Two lateral cephalometric head films were taken mandible at rest and with the teeth in occlusion utilizing the Broadbent-Bolton cephalometer. Their linear and angular measurements were made directly. The author obtained the following results: 1) The change in the incisal overbite was of $-2.32\~-3.36mm$, and the overjet decreased similiarly in each class of the malocclusion. 2) The range of free-way space was of $1.97\~3.56mm$, and showed prominent in the Angle's class III malocclusion. 3) In the rest position, the mandible showed backward displacement, and it was prominent in the Angle's class III malocclusion. 4) In the change of Ar-Gn, the class I and II showed more increase of distance-than the class III. 5) In the change of ${\angel}SNL_1L_1'$, the class III showed smaller angle than the class I and II. 6) There was no significant difference between the male and female in each class of the malocclusion.

Characterizations of Class 1 Integrons in Proteus mirabilis Isolated from Chickens at Chungcheong Province (충청지역의 닭으로부터 분리된 Proteus mirabilis 균주에 존재하는 Class 1 Integron의 유전형 분석)

  • Antimicrobial agents or additives have commonly been used in domestic animals for the prevention and treatment of bacterial diseases. Unfortunately, this has resulted in the overgrowth of bacteria that is resistant to antimicrobial agents used by humans, and these might get disseminated to humans via the food. In this study, we investigated the prevalence of integrons, and characterized gene cassette arrays in Proteus mirabilis isolates obtained from chickens in Chungcheong province of Korea. Additionally, the correlation between gene cassette arrays and antimicrobial resistance rate was studied. A total of 26 Proteus mirabilis isolates were recovered from chickens in Chungcheong province in Korea. Antimicrobial susceptibility was determined by disk diffusion method. PCR and DNA sequencing were performed to characterize the gene cassette arrays. In addition, we employed repetitive extragenic palindromic sequence-based PCR (REP-PCR) method for clonality analysis of P. mirabilis strains. Of the 26 P. mirabilis isolates tested, 14 (53.8%) isolates carried class 1 integrons, while class 2 and class 3 integrons were not detected in our study. The class 1 integrons harbored genes encoding resistance to aminoglycosides (aacCA5, aadA2, aadA5 and aadA7), trimethoprim (dfrA17, and dfrA32), lincosamides (linF) and erythromycin (ereA). In particular, the presence of class 1 integron had a significant correlatation to a high resistance rate of aminoglycoside and trimethoprim. We confirmed that class 1 integrons are widely disseminated in P. mirabilis isolates from chickens, contributing to the resistance to diverse antimicrobial agents in Korea. To prevent further spreading of antimicrobial resistant genes among P. mirabilis isolates, constant monitoring and clinical policing will become necessary.
