Suncheon is a city comprising a rural and urban area, where there are four types of large stores. Studies have shown that there are too many large stores serving the local population of just 300,000. However, geographically, Suncheon is located at a transportation hub that borders the cities of Gwangyang and Yeosu as well as the local counties of Boseong and Gurae. Residents of these areas can reach these shopping stores within an hour's drive. Thus, the managers of these four stores regard residents in these areas as their valued customers and endeavor to create a differentiated image among them. In this study, 13 different images were used to determine the public's opinions and feelings towards these stores and the differences were analyzed. The store images measured overall store impression, diversity of the product, the quality of products displayed at the store, accessibility, the atmosphere, service to the customers, and so on. These images are evaluated subjectively by each customer and are major factors in them deciding to revisit the stores. The 13 images are classified into five main categories and further classified into 13 sub-categories. Three kinds of factor images were extracted from the store images in the five main categories by factor analysis using SPSS Ver. 19. The first factor image was extracted from the images of convenience, atmosphere, and service in the main categories and is called a sub-service factor for the store in this study. Accessibility to the store was classified as a convenience image in the main category and was extracted as a common factor along with diversity and the price of goods. These differences are expected according to the store location, that is, the difference between stores located in a large city and those in a small local city, and depending on the nature of survey respondents. The result shows that there is a significant difference between the stores' images with regard to accessibility, the price of products, brand image, and lighting/sound image. This study has the following limitations. First, the survey sample was restricted to residents of a small local city that includes rural and urban populations. The differences between the store images regarding traffic and accessibility are factored by store location, whether they are located within a large or a small city as well as the economic situation of these cities. Second, only the customers of large-scale stores were included in the survey as respondents. Relatively large traditional markets are held every five days in local cities and there is competition between large-scale stores and traditional markets with regard to diversity and the price of goods. It could be expected that customers in large-scale stores and customers in traditional markets would hold different store images. In future studies, images of stores in large cities should be compared with the images of stores located in small local cities. In addition, customer behavior when buying goods in large-scale stores should be compared with their behavior when buying goods in traditional markets.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the disposition of adolescents in their ornament wearing pattern associate with their life style and clothing behavior. The subject of this study consists of 345 middle and high school girls living in Chung-Nam Province and Taejon Metropolitan City. SPSS/PC+ program was utilized to calculated frequency(N), mean value(M) and standard deviation(SD) for statistical analysis. Differences among the populations were examined through f test, ANOVA. The results of this study reveals that the ornaments wearing patterns are significantly different according to their life style and clothing behavior as follows: 1. Correlation between the wear of ornaments and the life style: School girls who pursue the modernistic life style prefer the fashionable ornaments (e.g. sunglasses) and they are always in contact with the latest information. On the contrary, school girls who pursue the practical life style emphasize on the practical use when they purchase the ornaments, e.g. umbrella. School girls having romantic or passive nature have a preference for the brand name and brand image of the ornaments and they in general would like to buy ornaments such as the bracelets. 2. Correlation between the wear of ornaments and the clothing behavior: School girls having sympathetic nature and being deeply interested in clothing put a stress on the latest fashion of the ornaments. They usually want to buy fashionable ornaments such as the cellular phone, beeper and sunglasses. Subjects who estimate themselves by their garments are sensitive to the price of the ornaments while aesthetes emphasize the brand image of the ornaments. Chaste school girls put their emphasis on the quality of the ornaments and they most want to have functional hair bands. Following suggestions can be made based on the discussions above: It is necessary for us to have correct understanding about the correlation between the ornaments and clothing of school girls in order to lead them to have appropriate clothing behavior. Furthermore, it is required to construct a bridge linking a course of study to rational habits guidance which will provide us more appropriate tools for clothing behavior guidance.

The purpose of this study is to critically investigate the places of the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)', written by Seo, Geojeong based on Chinese poem, old documents, and field surveys in terms of a geographical perspective. It is asserted that the controversial aspects on the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' are corrected through the analysis of old documents and field surveys. The results are summarized in the followings. 1) Ascertain historical and geographical evidence on places of 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' are accomplished properly based on old documents and field surveys. 2) The existing misinterpretation of the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' are corrected by the finding of one Chinese character in the 'Dongsasimseung(桐寺尋僧)', the seventh poem of 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' consisted of 10 Chinese poems. 3) Subjects and content of the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' in Sagajib(四佳集) are more rightly written than those of the old documents such as Daegueubji(大丘邑誌), Sinjeungdonggukyeojiseungram(新增東國輿地勝覽). 4) A few mistakes in the subject and word of the 'Daegusibyeong (大丘十詠)' are corrected as compared with the those of the old documents. 5) It is assumed that the brand value and image of Daegu city will be improved if the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' is restored based on the results of the study and its restoration is utilized in Daegu city tour program.
The purpose of this research is to propose employee uniforms for tourist hotels on Jeju Island, such uniforms that embrace Jeju's unique culture and promote the tourism of Jeju Island. It has been suggested that there exists a need for hotel employee uniforms to attract more tourist attention and boost Jeju's tourism industry. We designed the uniform after analyzing the empirical data collected from academia thesis, periodicals, papers and pictures from internet search, and fashion industry magazines. The uniform analysis and production procedures are as follows: (1) precedent research case review (2) current (existing) uniform status survey (3) latest fashion trend analysis (2010 - 2014) (4) creating the uniform implementing the trend-based design with Gal Cheon, Jeju's cultural product material. We found tipping points of the design through literature and trend analysis; we developed appropriate uniforms accordingly that are harmonious with Jeju's unique identity. We received great evaluations on the appearance and comfort as well. A new concept of uniform featuring Gal Cheon has been proposed. It is expected that the uniforms will promote the brand image of Jeju as an international freedom city and its culture.
Decision making for gas boiler consumers depends on the characteristics of products such as the price and quality as well as the brand image. Although a gas boiler is a high involvement product in terms of price, in fact, it is a low involvement product which is greatly affected by installers. This study examined variables which affect the level of satisfaction and repurchase intention by surveying about 1,000 housewives through an on-line questionnaire. The results were as follows: first, gas boiler users' general knowledge of gas boilers showed a correct-answer rate of 54.5%. The average satisfaction score of product quality (mean=5.61 out of 7) was higher than that of the satisfactionscore of the company's service (mean=5.46). Second, the level of repurchase intention was above the mid-point (mean=4.72). Multivariate regression found that product satisfaction, service satisfaction, household size, and information sources explained repurchase intentions for gas boilers to be about 50.7%. Gas boiler marketers should pay attention to the survey result in that the level of repurchase intention depends mainly on both consumer satisfaction and information sources.
Purpose: This research aims to analyze the relationship marketing between football club organizations, players, and the fans club community. Research design, data, and methodology: An ethnographic approach was used to observe for eight months in the community, interviews, and documents analysis in Bonek Mania community fans club and Persebaya, a football club management in Surabaya, Indonesia. Results: The results show that the management of the football club has maintained the football high-end brand image in the national league. Stakeholders have endeavored to build the values and shared meaning with the public and cohesively with Bonek Mania. The struggles and achievements are intended to maintain the local collective memory of Surabaya's patriotism as the "city of heroes." Sustainable relationships were built by professional football club managers, players, and the fans club to foster the spirit, economic resources, and sustainable development. Conclusions: This research implies that it can provide direction for the management of football clubs by paying attention to relationship marketing, developing unique local values to build the customers' loyalty. Further implications were discussed.
As urbanization has evolved, a number of cities have been engaged in building creative power through branding. Cities contain much creative space and creative space within cities develops them. Cities are connected with space, which have a great influence each other, in particular, in cities of culture and art. Space contents in cities have various forms and types and work as important factors for branding of cities. In this high-touch generation, cities of culture and art have special meaning in that design of emotional generation, and cultural meaning of tangible and intangible assets in cities are their competitive power and sources of high added value. The cities of culture and art are oriented toward creative future globally and nationally. In cities of culture which seek for urban development by excavating artistic meaning and value through artistic and cultural development, their cultural meaning itself can become a brand, which effectively leads to building creative cities and marketing of urban brands. This study aims to analyse cases of cities developed through discovering or reactivating art and cultural meaning and value of urban space based on urban space contents. Then it analyses through what urban image, brands and marketing space contents were developed and suggests necessity of space contents development in small and middle sized cities. Therefore, based on the cases of art and cultural cities developed depending on space contents, it analyses and differentiate their various types and contents, aiming to show that any cities can be based on art and culture and creativity depending on creation, regeneration and development of space contents.
Busan is one of the most popular tourist cities of the Republic of Korea. To develop differentiated urban brand as the nation's flagship maritime city, Busan needs to explore diverse marine tourism stories and develop related contents. For the purpose of developing storytelling as a way to facilitate the maritime tourism of Busan, this study attempted to i) create 'marine leisure Galmaetgil of Busan' contents using 5-step storytelling modules and ii) develop themed tour routes based on the marine tourist contents and related graphic elements such as tour route map and image editing. Galmaetgil is a beautiful trail developed along the coastal line. It is one of the most famous tourist contents of Busan. Based on this asset, Busan would be able to develop its own tourist contents as the nation's proud marine-leisure city. The emotional stories which can draw a great attention from the citizens and tourists and informative storytelling would make people understand and experience marine leisure in a fun and easy.
Amidst various efforts which have been made to revive a city, the potential discovery related to the development of public design based on copious cultural heritages is extremely significant. Therefore, in this study, qualitative researches were conducted based on bibliographic data and image materials centered on public design of Theme Park in Daechon-dong, Gwangju Metropolitan City. The case studies verifying the identity of Korean public design through countless numbers of research materials. However, it's necessary to pay attention to a common fact because it's essential to find the national legitimacy and regional identity by tiding over problems in standardized urban development through well-designed development plan for history, living and economy bloc among the regional traditional cultural assets while rejecting the meaning in an excessively broad sense. The spaces assigned with significance are cultural contents embedded with cultural original form of the region and there is room for creative development in order to generate city brand value and to activate the space. This study is significant in that the spatial interpretation of Daechon-dong's Theme Park and the methodology of semiotic spatial planning can not only be applied but also in that this study has demonstrated positive effects on space.
A survey showed that the public perception of the shipping industry's overall image and economic role was relatively positive. The survey revealed that public perception was mixed with respect to the multifaceted role of the shipping industry. Based on the results of this survey, this paper proposes three approaches to improving the public perception of the shipping industry. The organization contact approach includes establishing shipping institutes for city people, holding various events targeted at the public, establishing a shipping memorial hall, developing a shipping-related culture and tourism, reinventing the image of the shipping industry through a shipping-culture movement, and creating new views of the shipping industry by conducting formal education. The goods and services contact approach includes building a brand image for shipping services, providing B2C services, utilizing the national image for the shipping industry, and participating in international cooperation projects. The text contact approach includes B2B advertising, advertisements focused on the national economic and multifaceted role of the shipping industry, package advertisements for the shipping industry and related industries, the Internet and high-technology media, government-initiated PR activities regarding the multifaceted role of the shipping industry, and funding for advertising the shipping industry.
