LTCC 공정을 이용한 송신 30GHz/수신 20GHz 이중급전 원형편파 패치 안테나 설계 (The Design of Tx 30GHz/ Rx 20GHz Dual Feeding Circular Polarized Patch Antenna Using LTCC Process)

  • In this paper, circular polarized antennas of Tx 30GHz and Rx 20GHz are implemented in LTCC process. Tx antenna has a circular patch structure and Rx antenna has a ring patch structure. The feeding line of Tx antenna is placed in the center hole of Rx ring patch antenna which is printed under Tx circular patch antenna layer. It makes antenna size smaller. Tx antenna's return loss in under -l0dB level from 30GHz to 31GHz and Rx antenna is under -10 dB from 20GHz to 21GHz. The isolation between two antennas is less than -20dB. Axial ratio is less than 3dB thoughout each band.

Numerical Investigation of Tunable Band-pass\band-stop Plasmonic Filters with Hollow-core Circular Ring Resonator

  • In this paper, we numerically study both band-pass and band-stop plasmonic filters based on Metal-Insulator-Metal (MIM) waveguides and circular ring resonators. The band-pass filter consists of two MIM waveguides coupled to each other by a circular ring resonator. The band-stop filter is made up of an MIM waveguide coupled laterally to a circular ring resonator. The propagating modes of Surface Plasmon Polaritons (SPPs) are studied in these structures. By substituting a portion of the ring core with air, while the outer dimensions of the ring resonator are kept constant, we illustrate the possibility of red-shift in resonant wavelengths in order to tune the resonance modes of the proposed filters. This feature is useful for integrated circuits in which we have limitations on the outer dimensions of the filter structure and it is not possible to enlarge the dimension of the ring resonator to reach to longer resonant wavelengths. The results are obtained by a 2D finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The introduced structures have potential applications in plasmonic integrated circuits and can be simply fabricated.

A Unidirectional Beam Antenna using a Probe Excited Circular Ring near the Reflector

  • This paper proposes a unidirectional beam antenna using a probe excited circular ring near the reflector. The antenna structure is simple. The radiation characteristics of the antenna fur various spacing between a probe excited circular ring and the reflector are analyzed. These characteristics are also compared with the conventional single aperture near the reflector. It is found that the proposed structure yields better characteristics than the conventional structure. The numerical results of the radiation pattern, elevational beam peak, beamwidth, and maximum directivity are investigated. The result of the analysis is very useful to design the antenna of the high directivity with unidirectional beam.

  • The flow structure behind circular and elliptical type rings embedded in a cross-flow was investigated experimentally using two-frame particle image velocimetry (PIV). The experiments were performed in a circulating water channel with a test section of 0.35m height ${\times}$ 0.3m width ${\times}$ 1.1m length. PIV measurements were carried out with varying the Reynolds number in the range of 4.5 ${\times}$ $10^2$ - 4.5 ${\times}$ $10^3$. In the present study, turbulent flow structures in the stream-wise direction and span-wise direction were investigated. The mean velocity field distribution was obtained by statistical-averaging instantaneous velocity fields. The spatial distributions of turbulent statistics such as turbulent intensities and turbulent kinetic energy were also investigated.

Circularly Polarized Square Ring Slot Antenna with Arrow-Shaped Structure

  • A novel design of a compact square-ring slot microstrip antenna for achieving circular polarization (CP) operation is proposed and experimentally studied. By using an arrow-shaped slot structure as a radiating element, the resonant frequency of the proposed antenna is significantly lowered, which can lead to a large size reduction for fixed frequency operation. The CP radiation characteristics are achieved by loading with proper asymmetry, which can be placed diagonally. A prototype of the proposed design is implemented and its performance is measured. Measured results show that radiation patterns with good CP characteristics are obtained at the resonant frequency.

  • 배열 안테나 수신기에서 도래각(Angle of Arrival : AOA) 정보는 다양한 상황에서 특정 신호의 위치추정 및 효율적인 신호 획득을 위한 주요한 요소 중 하나이다. 위성망을 통한 도래각 추정은 위성에 탑재된 평면(격자형, 원형) 배열 안테나를 이용하여 빠르게 넓은 지역의 도래각 정보를 획득할 수 있다는 장점을 가진다. 위성 환경에서는 배열 안테나의 크기에 제약이 있어, 다수개의 안테나 요소를 사용하면서 전체 크기가 작은 동심원 배열 (CCA : Concentric Circular Array or CRA : Concentric Ring Array) 안테나 구조가 단일 원형 배열(UCA : Uniform Circular Array) 안테나 구조에 비해 효율적이다. 본 논문은 동심원 배열 안테나를 적용한 CAPON과 Beamspace MUSIC으로 구성된 캐스케이드 도래각 추정 알고리즘을 소개한다. 또한, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 제시된 알고리즘에 대한 성능평가를 실시하고, 단일 원형 배열 안테나의 경우와 비교/분석한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 WLAN용 끝인 개방된 원형 링 모노폴 안테나를 설계 및 제작 하였다. 제안된 안테나는 평면형 모노폴 설계를 기본으로 끝인 개방된 원형 링과 접지면으로 구성되어 있으며 이중대역 특성을 갖도록 설계하였다. 최적화된 파라메타을 얻기 위해 상용 도구(HFSS)을 사용하여 시뮬레이션 하였으며 안테나 성능에 민감하게 적용받는 파라메타를 찾아내서 최적화된 수치를 얻었다. 얻어진 최적화된 수치를 사용하여 제안된 안테나를 제작하였다. 제작된 안테나는 이중 무선랜 대역 (2.4-2.484 GHz, 5.15-5.825 GHz)에서 반사손실, 이득, 방사패턴의 특성을 측정하였다.

Structures of Two-dimensional Ring Polymer Solutions using Bond Fluctuation Model

  • This study attempts to reveal structures of two-dimensional ring polymer solutions in various polymer concentrations ranging from dilute to concentrated regime. Polymer sizes, single molecule structure factors, bond correlation functions and monomer density distribution functions from center of mass are given in order to clarify the polymer structures. Our study shows that a ring in dilute solution maintain pseudo-circular structure with self-avoiding walk (SAW) statistics, and it seems to be composed of two connecting SAW linear chains. In semidilute solutions, ring polymers are not entangled with each other and adopt collapsed configurations. Such assumption of collapsed structures in the semidilute regime gives an overlap concentration of ${\varphi}^*{\sim}N^{-1/2}$ where N is degree of polymerization. By normalizing the polymer concentration by these overlap concentration, we find universal behaviors of polymer sizes and structure factors regardless of N.

증가된 대역폭을 갖는 SRR 기반 대역 저지 여파기 (Split Ring Resonator-Based Bandstop Filter with an Enhanced Bandwidth)

  • 본 논문에서는 split ring resonator(SRR)를 이용한 대역 저지 여파기의 저지 대역을 넓히는 방법을 제안하였다. 광대역 저지 특성을 얻기 위해, 마이크로스트립 전송 선로의 접지면에 위치한 원형의 defected ground structure(DGS) 내부에 SRR을 삽입하였다. DGS 내부에 SRR을 삽입하면 신호선과 SRR 사이의 강한 자기 결합이 일어나며, 그로 인해 넓은 저지 대역을 얻을 수 있다. 제안된 구조의 타당성을 증명하기 위하여 신호선 양옆에 SRR을 위치시킨 대역 저지 여파기와 제안된 대역 저지 여파기를 비교하였다. 제안된 구조가 기존의 구조보다 매우 넓은 저지 대역을 갖는 것을 시뮬레이션 및 제작한 결과로 확인하였다.
