This study, the method of reducing the exposure dose by changing the geometrical requirements among the preceding studies and the method of directly wearing a protector on the patient were used to expose the patient. A comparative experiment was conducted on the method of reducing the dose and the most effective method for reducing the exposure dose was investigated. Using the phantom, the dose of the lens, thyroid gland, and gonad gland in the 5 views most used in coronary angiography and intervention accumulated 5 times for 10 seconds at 60~70 kV, 200~250 mA as an automatic controller of the angiography system, and measured by Optically Stimulated Luminescent Dosimeter(OSLD). SID 100 cm and Cine 15 f/s as a control group the experiment was conducted by dividing the experimental group into 3 groups: a group lowered to Cine 7.5 f/s, a phantom protector, and a group lowered to 95 cm SID. As a result of the experiment, showing decrease in exposure dose compared to the control group. Lowering the cine frame may be the simplest and most effective method to reduce the exposure dose, but there is a limit that it cannot be applied if the operator judges that the diagnostic value is small or feels uncomfortable with the procedure. Conclusion as fallow reducing the exposure dose by directly wearing protector is the next best solution, and it is hoped that the conclusions obtained through this study will help reduce the exposure dose to unnecessary organ.
This study aims to find out geometric parameters which practitioner adjustable to reduce dose in coronary angiography. We take fluoroscopy and cine exposure by use of phantom, and got dose use the dose-area product(DAP) meter of angiography device, than convert DAP to effective dose. As results, Cine exposure shows higher dose measurement about 6-7 times than fluoroscopy. Dose in frame per second(FPS) mode could be decrease down to 70%, as lower FPS. In view of X-ray tube angle, LAO $45^{\circ}$+Caudal $30^{\circ}$ shows highest dose measurement. More use of Collimator, lower dose measurement. Source-image intensifier distance(SID) get longer to 10cm, dose of each fluoroscopy and cine exposure increase up to 25-30%. Image magnification of field of view(FOV) could increase dose up to 1.21-2 times. Also table-image intensifier distance get longer to 10cm, dose increased 1.11-1.25 times. Practitioner can adjust several geometric parameters, as FPS mode, tube angle, Collimation, SID, table-image intensifier distance, FOV. And each factors can reduce radiation dose in coronary angiography.

Echocardiography and catheterization angiography suffer certain limitations in the evaluation of congenital heart diseases in adults, though these are overcome by MRI, in which a wide field-of view, unlimited multiplanar imaging capability and three-dimensional contrast-enhanced MR angiography techniques are used. In adults, recently introduced fast imaging techniques provide cardiac MR images of sufficient quality and with less artifacts. Ventricular volume, ejection fraction, and vascular flow measurements, including pressure gradients and pulmonary-to-systemic flow ratio, can be calculated or obtained using fast cine MRI, phase-contrast MR flow-velocity mapping, and semiautomatic analysis software. MRI is superior to echocardiography in diagnosing partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection, unroofed coronary sinus, anomalies of the pulmonary arteries, aorta and systemic veins, complex heart diseases, and postsurgical sequelae. Biventricular function is reliably evaluated with cine MRI after repair of tetralogy of Fallot, and Senning's and Mustard's operations. MRI has an important and growing role in the morphologic and functional assessment of congenital heart diseases in adolescents and adults.
The purpose of this paper was to compare the clinical efficacy of iopamidol and iopromide, iohexol nonionic contrast media in terms of their image quality in Beagle dogs with hepatic CT angiography and their application in veterinary clinics. With 9 Beagle dogs, contrast media of iopamidol (pamiray-$300^(R)$) and iopromide (ultravist-$300^(R)$, iohexol (omnipaque-$300^(R)$) were induced intravenously (600 mg I/kg, BW) and CT angiography was done under general anesthesia. CT scan included scout, pre-contrast and cine examinations. During CT angiography, peak HU (Hounsfield unit) and peak time were examined on each site (ROI; region of interest) of the aorta, caudal vena cava, potral vein and liver parenchyma. Any side effects were also examined. After experiments, it was found that there were no significant changes of HU and maximal enhancing time of each ROIs of aorta, caudal vena cava, portal vein and liver parenchyma between these contrast media. And any side effects were not noted. So it is concluded that iopamidol has similiar contrast enhancement like as iopromide and iohexol in hepatic angiography and and it is thought to be useful for evaluation of the abdominal organs by CT scan in veterinary clinics.
To diagnose cardiac malfunctions, various imaging techniques have been applied to heart : DSA(Digital Subtracted Angiography), Doppler Ultrasound, MR Angio. But it is difficult to observe three dimensional heart motion which is the most intuitive tool for diagnosis, only by using these methods. In this research, we have suggested 4-Dimensional reconstruction scheme of heart motion images that can be acquired by ECG-gated cine MR imaging. One cardiac cycle was devided into $9\sim15$ phases and for each phase 3D reconstructed volumn heart was made. We can observe 3D volumns along the cardiac cycle, time. So the results were 4-D reconstructed data.
Among noninvasive approaches for the evaluation of left ventricular performance, radionuclide ventriculography (RVG) has been shown to be of particular values. Phase analysis, recently introduced as more objective means for evaluating the temporal sequence of systolic ventricular wall motion than cine image of RVG comprises a pixel by pixel Fourier transformation of the time activity curve of a multiple gated acquisition equilibrium blood pool study. To examine the regional wall motion of ventricles in myocardial infarctions, we evaluated the phase image and histogram constructed for each ventricle by total phase angle range and full width of half maximum (FWHM). This study consisted of 7 normal subjects and 23 subjects with acute myocardial infarction. Contrast ventriculography and coronary angiography was performed in all partients with myocardial infarction. And we compared the result of phase analysis with cine image of RVG and examined the interrelationship between phase analysis and contrast ventriculography with coronary angiography. The results were as follows; 1) The total phase angle range and FWHM of LV phase histogram in myocardial infarction ($86^{\circ}\;and\;32^{\circ}$, repectively) were wider than those in normal control ($38^{\circ}\;and\;18^{\circ}$, respectively p<0.01). 2) RV phase angle range and FWHM in patients with right coronary artery (RCA) occlusion ($79^{\circ}\;and\;37^{\circ}$, respectively) were wider than those in normal control ($39^{\circ}\;and\;18^{\circ}$, respectively p<0.001) and the patients without RCA occlusion ($52^{\circ}\;and\;19^{\circ}$, respectively p<0.01). 3) Phase analysis was more sensitive (95%) than cine image of RVG (70%) for the detection of regional wall motion abnormality of LV.
Purpose : Recently, the Recon Challenge at the 2009 ISMRM workshop on Data Sampling and Image Reconstruction at Sedona, Arizona was held to evaluate feasibility of highly accelerated acquisition of time resolved contrast enhanced MR angiography. This paper provides the step-by-step description of the winning results of k-t FOCUSS in this competition. Materials and Methods : In previous works, we proved that k-t FOCUSS algorithm successfully solves the compressed sensing problem even for less sparse cardiac cine applications. Therefore, using k-t FOCUSS, very accurate time resolved contrast enhanced MR angiography can be reconstructed. Accelerated radial trajectory data were synthetized from X-ray cerebral angiography images and provided by the organizing committee, and radiologists double blindly evaluated each reconstruction result with respect to the ground-truth data. Results : The reconstructed results at various acceleration factors demonstrate that each components of compressed sensing, such as sparsifying transform and incoherent sampling patterns, etc can have profound effects on the final reconstruction results. Conclusion : From reconstructed results, we see that the compressed sensing dynamic MR imaging algorithm, k-t FOCUSS enables high resolution time resolved contrast enhanced MR angiography.
Mechanical valve thrombosis is a serious and potential lethal complication unless early diagnosis & prompt therapy are made. We have been experienced 3 cases of valve thrombosis. From Aug. 1988 to July 1994, reoperations of mitral valve replacement [MVR] with mechanical prostheses [all mitral] were performed in three patients[2 men, 1 woman] due to valve thromboses. All three patients were diagnosed by means of cineradiography. Preoperative status of was shock status and he was applied intra-aortic balloon pump [IABP]. All three cases of prosthetic valve failure [PVF] were treated by Redo-MVR. Time intervals of reoperations were 5months, 40months, and 35months, respectively. In all cases, valve thromboses were excised successfully. Cineradiography provided an accurate diagnosis in all cases, which was utilized as safe, reliable & noninvasive imaging modalities. There were no operative death & complication. All three patients were fully recovered and returned to their employements, and active lives.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the change in the X-ray condition on the entrance surface dose (ESD) and dose area product (DAP) in the cine imaging of coronary angiography (CAG), and to analyze the usefulness of the condition change on the dose relation and image quality by measuring and analyzing the Signal to Noise Radio (SNR) and Contrast to Nois Ratio (CNR) of the angiographic images taken by the Image J program. Data were collected from 33 patients (24 males and 9 females) who underwent CAG at this hospital from November 2017 to March 2018. In terms of imaging condition and data acquisition, the ESD and DAP of group A with a high tube current of 397.2 mA and group B with a low tube current of 370.7 mA were retrospectively obtained for comparison and analysis. For the SNR and CNR measurement and analysis via Image J, the result values were derived by substituting the obtained data into the formula. The correlations among ESD and DAP according to the change in the imaging condition, SNR, and CNR were analyzed by using the SPSS statistical analysis software. The relationships of groups A and B, having a difference in the imaging condition, mA, with ESD ($A:483.5{\pm}60.1$; $B: 464.4{\pm}39.9$) and DAP ($A:84.3{\pm}10.7$; $B:81.5{\pm}7$) were not statistically significant (p>0.05). In the relationships with SNR and CNR based on Image J, the SNR ($5.451{\pm}0.529$) and CNR ($0.411{\pm}0.0432$) of the images obtained via the left coronary artery (LCA) imaging of group B showed differences of $0.475{\pm}0.096$ and $-0.048{\pm}0.0$, respectively, from the SNR ($4.976{\pm}0.433$) and CNR ($0.459{\pm}0.0431$) of the LCA of group A. However, the differences were not statistically significant (p<0.05). In the SNR and CNR obtained via the right coronary artery (RCA) imaging, the SNR ($4.731{\pm}0.773$) and CNR ($0.354{\pm}0.083$) of group A showed increased values of $1.491{\pm}0.405$ and $0.188{\pm}0.005$, respectively, from the SNR ($3.24{\pm}0.368$) and CNR ($0.166{\pm}0.033$) of group B. Among these, CNR was statistically significant (p<0.05). In the correlation analysis, statistically significant results were shown in SNR (LCA) and CNR (LCA); SNR (RCA) and CNR (RCA); ESD and DAP; ESD and sec; DAP and CNR (RCA); and DAP and sec (p<0.05). As a result of the analyses on the image quality evaluation and usefulness of the dose change, the SNR and CNR were increased in the RCA images of the CAG obtained by increasing the mA. Based on the result that CNR showed a statistically significant difference, it is believed that the contrast in the image quality can be further improved by increasing the mA in RCA imaging.
