The effect of combined Korean medicine treatment including facial chuna manual therapy was retrospectively investigated in patients with Bell's palsy. There were 16 patients (14 males) who received 2 months outpatient treatment following > 14 days of hospitalization. The Yanagihara score and House-Brackmann grade were used to measure the severity of symptoms and recovery. The patients (mean age 58.5 ± 24.74 years) were categorized based on their medical history of hypertension (n = 10), diabetes millitus (n = 10), or oral intake of steroids early in the diagnosis of Bell's palsy (n = 10). There was no difference between patients who had or did not have a previous history of diabetes mellitus or oral steroid. Both the Yanagihara-score and House-Brackmann grade improved significantly in the total patient sample after treatment (p < 0.001). Combined Korean medicine including facial chuna manual therapy may have a beneficial effect on patient symptoms and recovery.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to report clinical effects of Lumbar flexion-distraction manipulation and Sitting position thoracic and lumbar vertebra adjustment manipulation on patient with Juvenile idiopathic scoliosis Methods : The patients have been treated with the above two Chuna manual manipulations. We measured Cobb's angle, VNRS before and after treatment Results : After treatment, we confirmed these transition : In first case, Cobb's angle of T-spine changed from 27 to 23 : Cobb's angle of L-spine changed from 17 to 10 : VNRS changed from 6 to 2. In second case Cobb's angle of T-spine changed from 30 to 21 : Cobb's angle of L-spine changed from 16 to 16 : VNRS chagned from 6 to 3 Conclusion : The result suggests that these two Chuna manual manipulations were effective treatment on patients with Juvenile idiopathic scoliosis.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the effects of Korean medicine treatments including Chuna manual therapy, pharmacopuncture and acupuncture for two patients who have pain in hip joint diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Methods The treatment effect was evaluated with a numeric rating scale (NRS), range of motion (ROM), physical examination (Patrick test), and score of Harris hip score (HHS). Results After treatment, symptoms of the two patients such as hip joint pain and gait dysfunction were improved. The NRS decreased from 8 (right [Rt.]), 7 (left [Lt.]) to 4 (Rt.), 3 (Lt.) in case 1 and from 9 to 2 in case 2. Also the patients showed improvement in ROM and score of HHS increased from 55.5 to 88.5 in case 1 and from 63.5 to 85.5 in case 2. In addition, positive Patrick test improved to negative. Conclusions Korean medicine treatments including Chuna manual therapy, pharmacopuncture and acupuncture can be effective in relieving pain and recovering the fucnction of hip joint associated with avascular necrosis of the femoral head, even when surgery is recommended. Although further study such as controlled studies is needed.

Objectives: This study is designed to report the valid result of complex of Chuna Therapy and Myofascial Release Technique(MRT) on scoliosis patients. Methods: The correction program for scoliosis takes 3 month per case. Chuna Therapy and MRT were given once a week and other oriental medicine care was given twice a week to care the complications of scoliosis. The Cobb's angle(by X-ray, Full spine view) and Visual analogue scale(VAS) were evaluated before and after the treatments. Results: After the program, both of Cobb's angle and VAS decreased. Conclusions: Though it is a case report, we found Chuna Therapy and MRT might have valid effect on scoliosis patients. Further rigorous case series and controlled trials are warranted.

Objective : This study was designed to compare the effect of chuna manupulation on acute low back pain. Method : We diveded the acute low back pain patients who visited ER into two groups, one was patients who were treated with only acupuncture and the other was patients who were treated with acupuncture and chuna manupulation. and then compared the VNRS measurments of each group. Result : The improvement rate of the combined treatment group was higher than the single treatment group. Conclusion : In case of acute low back pain, it is more effective to treat with acupuncture with chuna manupulation than to treat with only acupuncture.

Objects : This study was to report a clinical effect of Korean Treatment for a patient diagnosed by Computed Tomography as Cervical Spinal Stenosis with Ossification of posterior Longitudinal Ligament. Methods : In order to alleviate left shoulder pain and neck stiffness, the patient was treated by acupuncture therapy, herbal medicine, distilled herbal injection, cervical traction technique of Chuna treatment and conservative managements. To evaluate the effect of the treatment, Recovery rate of Hirabayashi, VAS(Visual Anlaogue Scale), NDI and ROM(Range of Motion) were used. Lhermitte's sign, Valsalva test, Distraction test, Compression test and Spurling test were carried out. Results : VAS, NDI and ROM were improved and Recovery rate was 100%. Conclusions : Korean Treatment can be effectively used for a patient with Cervical Spinal Stenosis with OPLL. Further clinical studies are needed to verify the findings.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of foot orthosis and Korean Medicine therapy including Chuna on symptom that accompany scoliosis by observing one clinical case study. Methods : One patient suffer sole pain and numbness that accompany scoliosis who received outpatient treatment was investigated for the changes in numerical rating scale(NRS), pelvic height and pelvic angle. Pelvic height and angle were checked by using Whole spine X-ray. During outpatient treatment, patient treated by foot orthosis and Korean Medicine therapy including Chuna. Results : After 7 times treatment, NRS showed a remarkable difference, which decreased from 7 to 1. Pelvic height decreased from 11.16mm to 8.58mm and pelvic angle decreased from $5.03^{\circ}$ to $3.16^{\circ}$. They showed a slight difference. Conclusions : Foot orthosis and Korean Medicine therapy including Chuna might be effective in the patient that showed symptoms which is caused by scoliosis.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to provide an evidence base for the effectiveness of Chuna manual therapy (CMT) alone for cervicogenic dizziness. Methods We conducted a search up to October 2018 in 7 electronic databases. The randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that performed CMT for cervicogenic dizziness were included. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results Ten RCTs met the inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis of 4 RCTs showed favorable results for the use of CMT alone compared to medication. Conclusions In 10 RCTs, we found that CMT was effective in cervicogenic dizziness. However, most of the included RCTs were unclear risk of bias. Therefore, well designed RCTs would be needed to obtain the stronger evidence level of CMT for cervicogenic dizziness.

Objectives : The aims of this study were to introduce the theory of traditional Chinese orthopedic theory(整脊理論) and to analyze the guideline of diagnosis and treatment of common spinal disorders by treating Chinese spinal manipulation technique(常見病中醫整脊指南). Methods : We have searched the web sites of traditional Chinese orthopedics association (整脊學會), a branch of the China academy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and related articles. Additionally, we analyzed the guideline of diagnosis and treatment of common spinal disorders by treating Chinese spinal manipulation technique which was introduced by that association at 7th academic conference in China in 2011. Results : The guideline was prepared by 2 year project leaded by professor Yi-zhong Wei who was a person in charge of the spinal manipulation guideline of national standardization committee of TCM in China. It was a summary of the whole theory of China spinal manipulation therapy in TCM and contained 22 common spinal disorders by the treatment of traditional Chinese Tuina methods. Spinal manipulation theory was summarized by one doctrine, two theories, and two important view points. The treatment method was abstracted as 8 major Tuina techniques. Conclusions : The guideline will be a way of advance of Chinese spinal manipulation technique. This will be a good reference to Korea Chuna manipulation for improving their techniques.

Objectives : The aim of the present study was to report the clinical progress of a patient who underwent surgical treatment of necrotizing fasciitis. Methods : During the admission period, The patient was treated with acupuncture, cupping, Korean Medicine, Chuna therapy every day and observed by Numeric Rating Scale(NRS), Pain Disability Index(PDI), Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), and assessment about range of motion(ROM) and manual muscle test(MMT) for hip & knee joint. Results : After treated by using above treatment, NRS, PDI, BDI and ROM, MMT were improved. Conclusions : Korean Medical treatment are estimated to be good for patients after surgical treatment of necrotizing fasciitis. But more cases are required to prove the effectiveness of the treatment.
