I 프레임에 기반한 MPEG 압축영상에서의 자막 탐지 (Localization of captions in MPEG compression images based on I frame)

  • 실시간 자막 탐지는 비디오 인덱싱, 텍스트의 이해, 자동 자막 탐지시스템 등 수많은 응용 분야에서 요구된다. 본 논문은 I 프레임을 기반으로 MPEG 압축 동영상에서 자막을 탐지하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 자막 텍스춰 정보와 색체 정보를 사용하여 배경 영상으로부터 자막을 정확히 분리한다. 기존 알고리즘들은 압축 동영상으로부터 텍스트 영역을 추출하기 전에 압축을 먼저 해제하는데 제안한 알고리즘은 DCT 압축 도메인에서 직접 자막 텍스트 영역을 탐지한다.

Colorization-based Coding By Using Watershed Segmentation For Optimization

  • Colorization is a method using computer to add color to a black and white image automatically. The input is a grayscale image and some representative pixels (RPs). The RPs contain the color information for the image, and it indicates each region's color information. Colorization-based coding is a novel way for lossy image compression, it decodes a color image to get grayscale image and extracts RPs from the image. Because RPs decides the region's color and we also want small data size for image compression, form this viewpoint the paper proposes a way to get better and fewer RPs based on watershed segmentation. According to the segmentation result we also improve the original chrominance blending colorization method to save decode time and get better reconstruct image.

비디오 영상 기반의 얼굴 검색 (Face Detection based on Video Sequence)

  • Face detection and tracking technology on video sequence has developed indebted to commercialization of teleconference, telecommunication, front stage of surveillance system using face recognition, and video-phone applications. Complex background, color distortion by luminance effect and condition of luminance has hindered face recognition system. In this paper, we have proceeded to research of face recognition on video sequence. We extracted facial area using luminance and chrominance component on $YC_bC_r$ color space. After extracting facial area, we have developed the face recognition system applied to our improved algorithm that combined PCA and LDA. Our proposed algorithm has shown 92% recognition rate which is more accurate performance than previous methods that are applied to PCA, or combined PCA and LDA.

  • 야간에 비디오카메라로 촬영시 열악한 주위 환경과 영상 전송에 기인하여 다양한 잡음에 의하여 왜곡되거나 흐린 저대비(low contrast)영상을 가질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 획득한 저대비 영상을 대비 향상시켜주는 기법을 제안한다. 동영상 압축표준인 MPEG-2는 인간의 시각 특성상 색차(chrominance)신호보다 밝기(luminance)신호에 더 민감하기 때문에 밝기신호와 색차 신호를 분리하여 압축한다. 밝기신호만을 추출한 후 K-means 알고리듬을 사용하여 교차점을 자동으로 선정하는 방법을 사용하는데, 이 최적의 교차점을 선정하는 과정은 획득한 영상을 물체와 배경으로 분리하는 두 개의 클래스 문제로 보고 K-means 알고리듬을 적용하였고 구한 교차점을 사용하여 영상을 양분하여 히스토그램 평활화 방법을 적용하였다 븐 논문에서는 퍼지성 지수(index of fuzziness)를 사용하여 향상의 정도를 측정하였다. 제안된 기법을 저대비 영상에 적용하였으며 그 결과를 히스토그램 평활화 기법의 결과와 비교하였다.

  • In recent years, we use overdriving scheme to improve the response time of the liquid crystal. Since conventional overdriving scheme uses memory to perform ideal processing, it is desired to reduce system cost by decreasing the data stored in these SDRAMs. As a general compression method, quantization, sub-sampling and Block Truncation Coding ( BTC ) are used, which process data in block base and cause block effect. So we proposed new data compression method by color space conversion. Because this method compresses luminance and chrominance signal by different ratio, it can efficiently reduce error of block effect in decompression image.

  • 본 논문에서는 motion-blur를 감소시키는 overdriving 기술의 오류를 감소시키기 위해 hybrid image coding 방법을 제안한다. hybrid image coding방법은 luminance data Y을 압축하기 위한 새로운 Adaptive Quantization Coding (AQC)을 제안하고 chrominance data CbCr을 Block Truncation Coding (BTC)방법으로 압축하는 것이다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 기존의 PSNR과 SD의 비교를 통하여 HIC의 우수함을 확인하여 알고리즘의 효율성을 검증하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 verilog HDL를 통해 구조를 구현하고 synopsys design compiler를 통하여 합성 $0.13{\mu}m$ Samsung Library구조의 효율성을 확인하였다.

  • This parer proposes the six color separation using th color difference and granularity. Conventional method using the color difference increases the graininess in the bright region due to the usage of the cyan or magenta. To reduce the graininess in the bright region, we proposed the six color separation minimizing the graininess within the tolerance of the co]or difference. Initially, granularity is calculated based on the standard deviation of the lightness value and chrominance of the SCIELAB space and is applied to the six color separation using the color difference. Proposed six color separation using the color difference and granularity reduces the graininess in the bright region and obtains the smooth tone.

  • We propose stereoscopic video coding method using the syntax of MAC(Multiple auxiliary component) that was added to the MPEC-4 visual version 2 in order to describe the transparency of the video object. We also define the novel MAC's semantics in MPEG-4 that should support the proposed coding method. The major difference between the existing coding method and the proposed coding method is the addition of the residual texture coding. The proposed coding method assigns disparity map and residual texture to 3 components of MAC: one component for disparity map and the rest 2 components fer the luminance and chrominance data of the residual texture, respectively. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated in terms of PSNR by computer simulations.

  • TMN5 used to test the performance of H.263 is a DCT-based H.263 which DCT is used as transform coding, but DWT is used instead of DCT and adaptive quantizer of being appropriate to DWT is designed in this paper while the structure of TMN5 is maintained. DWT-based H.263, which is proposed in this paper, is excellent in transplantation of the existing system and can improve frame rate by transmitting more Frame. Also, the average PSNR, objective quality of image, has been lost at degree of average 0.35㏈ in luminance signals, but has been improved over a average of 2㏈ in chrominance signals. Subjective quality of image has been improved as blocking effect, which has seriously occurred in DCT based H.263, is diminished. DWT-based H.263 can. therefore. advance video quality of image comparing with the existing ways.

까마중 추출물을 이용한 천연 염색직물의 염색성 및 항균성 (A Study on the Dyeability and Antibiosis of Fabrics Dyed with Solanum Nigrum Extract)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the utility value with material of natural dyeing and to examine the dyeability and antibiosis of fabrics dyed with Solanum nigrum extract. The results obtained are as follows. First, the color tone of dyed fabrics was tinged with from yellow series to green series, in the chrominance the fabric dyed with Fe mordant was showed the highest value. Second, colorfastness to dyeing showed difference as to mordants, but colorfastness to dyeing except for sunlight colorfastness showed the good colorfastness result on the whole. Third, in the test results of antibiosis, the dyed both cotton and silk fabrics showed the very excellent antibiosis effect for bacteria but showed the insignificant effect for fungus.
