  • Until now, it has been for choosing most economic result to be generally used for designing remote MicroGrid (MG) system. It is able to make economic benefit by reducing operation cost, but proportion of renewable energy will be minimum. In other words, it is difficult to get an effect by renewable energy because economic feasibility is an only consideration. Therefore, various factors should be considered and design objectives should be are diversified to design proper remote MG system. In this paper, remote MG system is classified into two types according to design objectives, and they are analysed through case study based on economic evaluation. In addition, economic feasibility for each type is analysed through sensitivity analysis according to various factors that affect the design results of the system.

  • There are currently three common methods for selecting excavation supports in Polish hard coal mines. While many factors are considered when choosing appropriate support, these do not include layering or cracking in the excavation ceiling. Although global classifications of rock mass are rarely used in hard coal mines, they are utilised much more frequently during the construction of underground structures such as tunnels. Mining classifications of rock mass have been developed (e.g., in Germany) and they rely on a number of factors but are often related to local mining and geological conditions. This paper discusses the selected findings of a study carried out on seven excavation sites with diverse mining and geological characteristics. Based on the collected data, two indicators were developed to describe rock mass quality. The first indicator is referred to as the roof lithology index WL and describes the quality of the excavation roof in terms of its layering and lithology. The second indicator is the crack intensity factor n and represents the amount of cracks in an excavation's roof. The correctness of the developed indicators was supported by reliable data from the excavation in which the designed support did not fulfill its task but was changed at a later stage, after calculating the proposed indicators.

  • In this paper, the finite element method is applied to investigate the effect of the lateral boundary in homogenous soil on the seismic response of a superstructure. Some influencing factors are presented and discussed, and several parameters are identified to be important for conducting soil-structure interaction experiments on shaking tables. Numerical results show that the cross-section width L, thickness H, wave propagation velocity and lateral boundaries of soil layer have certain influences on the computational accuracy. The dimensionless parameter L/H is the most significant one among the influencing factors. In other words, a greater depth of soil layer near the foundation should be considered in shaking table tests as the thickness of the soil layer increases, which can be regarded as a linear relationship approximately. It is also found that the wave propagation velocity in soil layer affects the numerical accuracy and it is suggested to consider a greater depth of the soil layer as the wave propagation velocity increases. A numerical study on a soil-structure experimental model with a rubber ring surrounding the soil on a shaking table is also conducted. It is found the rubber ring has great effect on the soil-structure interaction experiments on shaking table. The experimental precision can be improved by reasonably choosing the elastic parameter and width of the rubber ring.

  • With improvements in living conditions, an increasing number of people are choosing to spend their time traveling. Comfortable tour routes are affected by the season, time, and other local factors. In this paper, the influencing factors and principles of scenic spots are analyzed, a model used to find the available routes is built, and a multi-route choice model based on a game theory utilizing a path recommendation weight is developed. A Monte Carlo analysis of a tourist route subjected to fixed access point conditions is applied to account for uncertainties such as the season, start time, end time, stay time, number of scenic spots, destination, and start point. We use the Dijkstra method to obtain multiple path plans and calculate the path evaluation score using the Monte Carlo method. Finally, according to the user preference in the input path, game theory generates path ordering for user choice. The proposed approach achieves a state-of-the-art performance at the pseudo-imperial palace. Compared with other methods, the proposed method can avoid congestion and reduce the time cost.

  • The aim of this study is to obtain basic data to set the direction for construct and managing auto campsites. A survey was conducted with users of an auto campsite located in Jangsu Nuri Park in October 2018, and 32 copies of the questionnaire were used in the analysis. Auto camping is typically undertaken for a night or two with family or friends/colleagues. The adequacy of fees and location are important factors in choosing the campsite, so it is desirable to build one in the suburbs of the city and offer it at a reasonable price. Proximity to tourist spots and convenience in using facilities are also factors that must be considered. People are generally engaged in activities such as taking walks, relaxing, and looking around campsites, and they want to enjoy various other amenities like attractions, experiences, entertainment, and active leisure options, which is why there must be facilities to support these behaviors. The first-time visitors of the campsite showed high satisfaction with its individual facilities, while repeat visitors showed high overall satisfaction, which indicates that satisfaction with individual elements did not lead to overall satisfaction.

  • Minimizing the stress concentration around hypotrochoid hole in finite metallic plates under in-plane loading is an important consideration in engineering design. In the analysis of finite metallic plate, the effective factors on stress distribution around holes include curvature radius of the corner of the hole, hole orientation, plate's aspect ratio, and hole size. This paper aims to investigate the impact of these factors on stress analysis of finite metallic plate with central hypotrochoid hole. To obtain the lowest value of stress around a hypotrochoid hole, a swarm intelligence optimization method named ant lion optimizer is used. In this study, with the hypothesis of plane stress circumstances, analytical solution of Muskhelishvili's complex variable method and conformal mapping is employed. The plate is taken into account to be finite, isotropic and linearly elastic. By applying suitable boundary conditions and least square boundary collocation technique, undefined coefficients of stress function are found. The results revealed that by choosing the above-mentioned factor correctly, the lowest value of stress would be obtained around the hole allowing to an increment in load-bearing capacity of the structure.

  • This study compared the domestic and international commercial design patterns and domestic consumer preferences for wetsuit designs to develop a user-centered wetsuit design. An analysis of the domestic and international design elements for 1,802 wetsuits sold online over the past three years showed that the most frequent shapes, dominant colors, and patterns were the same, as consumers tended to buy full suits that were black or had geometric patterns. Dominant colors and assort/accent colors were different from the survey results. Men's wetsuits used fewer colors and patterns than women's suits. Domestic wetsuits used fewer patterns than those sold abroad; in addition, colors were applied differently. A consumer preference survey conducted on 213 male and female consumers in their 20s and their 50s in Korea indicated that 53.5% of respondents were the most affected by the shape when choosing a wetsuit design. The preferred color scheme was two colors, with a vivid tone used as an accent color. The factor analysis results on wetsuit design preference uncovered the six factors: individuality, display, function, acceptance, imitation, and comparison. An independent sample t-test also showed that men perceive individuality, imitations, and comparison factors higher than women.

  • Purpose Customer review is a major factor in choosing certain restaurants. This study investigates the key factors affecting customer's evaluation about restaurants. With the recent intensification of competition among restaurants in the service industry, the analysis results are expected to provide in-depth insights for enhancing customer experiences. Design/methodology/approach We collected information and reviews provided at the restaurants in the Kakao Map platform. The information collected is based on the information of 3,785 restaurants in Daegu registered on Kakao Map. Based on the information collected, seven independent variables, including number of rating registered, number of reviews, presence or absence of safe restaurants, presence or absence of a posting about holding facilities, presence or absence of a posting about business hours, presence or absence of a posting about hashtags, and presence or absence of break times, were used. Dependent variable is restaurant rating. Multiple regression between independent variables and restaurant rating was carried out. Findings The results of the study confirmed that number of rating registered, presence or absence of a posting about business hours, and presence or absence of a posting about hash tags have an positive effects on the restaurant rating. The number of reviews had a negative effect on the restaurant rating. In addition, in order to confirm the role of customer's reviews, we carried out LDA topic modeling. We divided the topics into the positive review and the negative reviews.
