Conjoint Analysis is marketers' favorite methodology for finding out how buyers make trade-offs among competing products and suppliers. Thousands of applications of conjoint analysis have been carried out over the past three decades. The conjoint analysis has been so popular as a management decision tool due to the availability of a choice simulator. A conjoint simulator enables managers to perform 'what if' question accompanying the output of a conjoint study. Traditionally the First Choice Model (FCM) has been widely used as a choice simulator. The FCM is simple to do, easy to understand. In the FCM, the probability of an alternative is zero until its value is greater than others in the set. Once its value exceeds that threshold, however, it receives 100%. The LOGIT simulation model, which is also called as "Share of Preference", has been used commonly as an alternative of the FCM. In the model part worth utilities aren't required to be positive. Besides, it doesn't require part worth utilities computed under LOGIT model. The simulator can be used based on regression, monotone regression, linear programming, and so on. However, it is not free from the Independent from Irrelevant Alternatives (IIA) problem. This paper proposes the EBA (Elimination-By-Aspects) model as a useful conjoint-like method. One advantage of the EBA model is that it models choice in terms of the actual psychological processes that might be taking place. According to EBA, when choosing from choice objects, a person chooses one of the aspects that are effective for the objects and eliminates all objects which do not have this aspect. This process continues until only one alternative remains.

While close range photogrammetry has been widely applied for static deformation analysis, video cameras have many characteristics that make them the sensors of choice for dynamic analysis of rapidly changing situations. They also have limitations. The aim of this research is to explore the potential of a video system for monitoring dynamic objects. A pilot system consists of two camcorders, VCR, and PC with frame grabber. To estimte the performance of this system for moving objects, a car was imaged covering several phases when starting to drive. The sequential images of a moving car were recorded on VCR. 15 images per second were digitized in an off-line mode by frame grabber. The image coordinates of targets attached to the rear bumper of a car were acquired by IDRISI, and the object coordinates were derived based on DLT. This research suggests that home video cameras, PC, and photogrammetric principles are promising tools for monitoring of the moving objects and vibrations as well as other time dependent situations.
In order to transmit multimedia streams over the network with a timely changing channel bandwidth such as Internet, scalable video coding schemes have been studied to represent video in flexible bitstream. Much research has been made on how to represent encoded media(such as video) bitstream in scalable ways. In this paper, rte propose an optimal selection of the objects for MPEG-4 bitstream adaptation to meet a given constraint. We adopt a multiple choice knapsack problem with multi-step selection for the MPEG-4 objects with different bit-rate scaling levels in the MPEG-4 bitstream. The bitstream adaptation based on the optimal selection result is then to fetch the necessary parts of the MPEG-4 bitstream to constitute an adapted version of the original MPEG-4 binary resource. The experiment results show that the optimal selection of MPEG-4 objects for a given constraint can promisingly be made which meets the given constraint.
Stop-Motion Animation is the work that gives lives to the objects. In order to give lives to objects and to form story line to persuade the audience, it is important that the reason of choice of color, material, and texture has something to do with the narratives. For this study, among the Garri Bardin's animation, the ones with good representation of the objects have been chosen: Conflict (1983), Fioritures (1987), and Adagio (2000). With these animations, I would like to look for the meaning of existence of the objects, and to consider the importance of the relationship between the types of objects that are represented and the narratives.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the consumers' characteristics in terms of information source usage and purchase channel choice focusing on apparel purchasers in the multichannel retailing environment. The specific research objects are as follows: analyzing consumer's information source usage and purchase channel choice when buying their own clothing, examining the differences of consumers' characteristics according to the groups who are classified by their information source usages, and examining the differences of consumers' characteristics according to the purchase channel choice. The data was collected from adults over 20 years of age who had bought their own clothing within the last year. The questionnaire was carried out during September 2019, using a professional internet research panel, and 490 useful data sets were analyzed by utilizing descriptive statistics, factor analysis, reliability analysis, chi-squared test, ANOVA and a Duncan-test using SPSS 21.0. The findings showed that there were also significant differences of consumers' characteristics which included age, gender, monthly clothing expenditure, purchase price, shopping value and perceived risk according to the consumer's information source usage and their purchase channel choice.
In this paper, we present a structure of personalized e-Learning system to study for a test formalized by uniform multiple-choice using on/off line mixed estimations as is the case of Driver :s License Test in Korea. Using the system a candidate can study toward the license through the Internet (and/or mobile instruments) within the personalized concept based on IRT(item response theory). The system accurately estimates user's ability parameter and dynamically offers optimal evaluation problems and learning contents according to the estimated ability so that the user can take possession of the license in shorter time. In order to establish the personalized e-Learning concepts, we build up 3 databases and 2 agents in this system. Content DB maintains learning contents for studying toward the license as the shape of objects separated by concept-unit. Item-bank DB manages items with their parameters such as difficulties, discriminations, and guessing factors, which are firmly related to the learning contents in Content DB through the concept of object parameters. User profile DB maintains users' status information, item responses, and ability parameters. With these DB formations, Interface agent processes user ID, password, status information, and various queries generated by learners. In addition, it hooks up user's item response with Selection & Feedback agent. On the other hand, Selection & Feedback agent offers problems and content objects according to the corresponding user's ability parameter, and re-estimates the ability parameter to activate dynamic personalized learning situation and so forth.
The ability of the robot gripper to handle a wide range of objects significantly impacts its operational effectiveness. Among the robot grippers commonly used, the economically feasible choice is the relatively simple structure of a parallel gripper. To perform more densely packed tasks with a parallel gripper, it should be capable of handling small objects. Therefore, this study designs a parallel gripper mechanism equipped with assisting grippers to ensure smooth grasping of small objects. The parallel gripper is designed using a rack and pinion gear system, with two additional grippers on both side, and these assisting grippers are designed to be detachable. The two assisting grippers have different type of tip to grasp thin fabric shapes and thin stick shapes. The gripper prototype is used to verify the grasping capabilities for shapes achievable with a conventional parallel gripper and those intended for grasping with the assisting grippers through grasping experiments. Consequently, by equipping a conventional parallel gripper with assisting grippers as in this study, it becomes capable of handling a broader range of objects, in addition to its existing functionality.

Any object located in the earth's gravitational field experiences a force in the direction of the center of the earth. In order to describe the motion of objects in the field, the solutions to a system of simultaneous vector kinematic equations need to be obtained. In the analysis of freely-falling objects, the reference direction +y is usually defined to be the downward direction. In the analysis of the motion of objects thrown upward, the reference direction +y is usually defined to be the upward direction. In the analysis of the motion of objects thrown downward, the reference direction +y is usually defined to be the downward direction. In this paper, we show that the choice of reference axis in either upward or direction gives the same results by adopting a scalar product of two vectors in solving the vector kinematic equations. It is rare to find other examples of using a scalar product of two vectors in solving vector kinematic equations describing the motion of objects. An application of this study is that we can arbitrarily choose the reference direction for objects moving in a horizontal direction, including projectile motions.
Existing methods to compute reverse skyline queries are not correct to process the queries in dataset with region objects which have conditions like a price is 5~7 dollars and a distance to beach is 1km~2km, since they consider datasets with only point objects. To solve the problem, we propose a novel method to process reverse skyline queries for region objects in this paper. It has advantages. First, it is expected to get a good performance, because it is extended from efficient reverse skyline (ERSL) algorithm which is a best algorithm to computing reverse skyline queries in datasets with point objects. Second, it can give a right of choice unlike the others to a person requesting the query. That is because results of reverse skyline have a difference preference according to proposed pruning methods and overlap relations. This algorithm is a first for supporting region objects. Therefore there are not any other algorithms to compare their performance. For that reason, our experiment to prove the efficiency of proposed algorithm is focused what conditions give an effect to its performance and result and how much time it needs to process the query.

This paper presents two social and academic studies on the boundary between cultural production and consumption. The first line of the study on cultural omnivore analyzes the choice of heterogeneous audiences in the face of various cultural offerings. The second line is a study of market categories, which analyzes the responses of peer audiences to objects with different levels of category code compliance. As such, this paper developed a heterogeneous audience model to evaluate objects of different types. This allows us to consider two dimensions of cultural preference: diversity and orientation of selection. To this end, this paper proposes a new analytical frame work to map consumption behavior on these two dimensions. The results suggest that one type of target that values diversity and transformation is particularly resistant to those that span boundaries. We test this argument in the analysis of two large data sets on film and restaurant reviews. Overall, our findings can extend beyond cultural consumption. Outline variability of contextual individuals or individuals in the same situation can cross cultural boundaries even if they are not intentionally pursuing such hybridism.
