As aging is notably developed, the elderly find it challenging to get around in housing chosen in their midlife, and seek for an alternative residential setting enabling them to continue the independent living. This research focuses on the residential mobility of the elderly who have recently moved to senior housing, and also is to investigate their residential satisfaction at previous residence. As a cross-sectional study, the research adopts the self-administered questionnaire survey. The questionnaires are mailed out, and one out of the two responses is retrieved. To investigate the residential mobility of the elderly, the research model is constructed based upon Morris and Winter's Housing Adjustment Theory. The result shows that the residential mobility of elderly from previous residence is a need-based choice, want-driven behavior and demand-oriented decision to maintain continued independence and utilize resources available during the aging process. Also, it is found that the vast majority of both co-op and rental households are satisfied with their previous residential environment. The previous residential satisfaction of co-op elderly is significantly influenced by household and housing characteristics, housing norm status, and environmental needs for independent living while only housing norm status is a significant predictor to explain the previous residential satisfaction of rental elderly.
This study is which sees analyzes the distance perception of the tourist affects in tourist resort selection conduct and this leads and there is the goal provides a fundamental data to the marketing strategic establishment an area tourist resort activation. It is crucial to understand how people make decisions on mode choice and to accurately predict their behaviors in transportation planning. One of avenues for advancing modeling is, in particular, taking into account for taste heterogeneity in modeling that can incorporate different decision-making processes across group. In this study, we hypothesize that how people make decisions on mode choice would differ by destination in that land use characteristics are heterogeneous by zone even if zones are all in the same area. To this end, we apply Latent Class Modeling (LCM) to commute trips in Seoul by using 2010 household travel diary survey, investigate types of latent classes with the aid of characteristics of destination, and analyze how those classes differently response to factors. The LCM identifies two classes: in the first one, modal split of auto and public transit (bus and metro) is almost half-and-half and the trip destinations are characterized by relatively more residence facilities and less business/commercial facilities; in the second one, public transit has a notably high share and trip destinations are characterized by relatively more business/commercial facilities. In addition, it turns out that demographic and socio-economic variables affect mode choice differently by class.
Carbohydrate intake is decreasing along with the reduction of rice consumption among the Korean population. There is an increasing trend of diet-related degenerative diseases with the increased consumption of animal food, and therefore, the increase of animal food intake can be considered as one of causes of the diet-related disease. The objective of this study is to investigate the differences in rice preference and breakfast patterns between the subjects have breakfast regularly and those skipping it. One thousand participants were selected by the stratified sample method from the primary, middle, high school and college, and company workers from 24 cities of Kyeonggi-do. The interviewing procedure was carried by regional home extension workers. Approximately half participants (49.9%) were under the age of 20. Although 86% of the subjects considered eating breakfast good for health. only 46.4% of the subjects had breakfast regularly (HB). The rest of them skipped breakfast (SB) more than twice a week. The proportion of subjects hiving no breakfast were 9.3% of male and 12.2% of female subjects. The main reason for not having breakfast was due to the limited time. For their breakfast 85% of the HB ate boiled rice with the side dishes. More subjects in SB (27.8%) preferred the boiled rice with various grains for breakfast than those of HB (21.8%). The subjects in HB (65.5%) preferred boiled plein rice more than those of SB (56.9%). In cases they must have breakfast, 47.7% of the subjects wanted rice with the side dishes,24.2% preferred rice ball or rice roll with laver, 10.5% preferred a rice beverage. More subjects in HB (59.8%) wanted rice with side dishes than those in SB (36.9%). It was found out that selecting rice at the breakfast is still the main choice. Diverse ready-to-eat rice menus have to be developed to increase the rice consumption, specially to increase breakfast eating frequencies of SB through saving time and effort. Campus dormitories function as residence halls, which are quarters or entire buildings for residents to conveniently sleep, eat, and study in. And these functions lead us to refer to dormitories as quarters providing residence, food, and an academic atmosphere. Yet, of these functions, the restaurant service acts on dormitory applicants' and their parents' choice of dormitories as strongly as the others do. It is not optional for the residents but compulsory. All residents are required to eat at the restaurants attached to their dormitories. Therefore, when most of the dormitory applicants and their parents look for their favorite dormitories, they won't miss looking into how good the restaurant service is. Considering this tendency, this research, which takes samples of residents as subjects of investigation, aims to survey the service quality of the dormitory restaurants and to find how to enhance the service quality. The result, which is measured and analyzed on the basis of statistical methods, indicates that the responsiveness and empathy to the restaurant service are statistically the significant factors for dormitory applicants and their parents in choosing their favorite dormitories.
An individual's food-related personal traits play an important role in influencing personal food choice and habits. According to culture, their influence can manifest differently. To ascertain personal traits about food, FNS (food neophobia scale) and FIS (food involvement scale) were employed in recent studies. This study aimed to understand the food culture and food choices of East-South Asians who live or stay in Korea through comparison of FNS and FIS. Eighty Koreans and 233 East-south Asians (Indonesians, Filipinos, Malaysians, Vietnamese, Thai, Singaporeans, and Bangladeshi) completed a questionnaire to measure FNS (10 questions), FIS (12 questions), and sociodemographic conditions (9 questions). ANOVA was conducted to ascertain FNS and FIS between the groups, and regression analysis was carried out to determine which sociodemographic factors had an effect. The items were analyzed to determine the differences according to gender, age, marital status, nationality, religion, occupation, educational background, monthly income, and length of residence in Korea. FNS showed significant differences between the groups with regard to sociodemographic characteristics, except gender, age, and marital status, whereas FIS showed significant differences in gender, nationality, religion, occupation, educational background, monthly income, and length of residence in Korea. The results of the regression analysis suggest that nationality strongly affected FNS and FIS, and FIS was also affected by gender.
This study analyzes housing choice determinants of the youth and newlyweds households by using housing survey data in Incheon. A multinomial logit model is employed for analysis with the following variables: housing characteristics, housing market characteristics, and residential and neighborhood environment characteristics. The findings from the analysis are as follows. First, for the continued residence of the youth, the important factors were the relief assistance of housing maintenance costs. For the newlyweds, the important factors were the quality improvement of residential environments to ensure residential stability. Second, the housing choice factors to attract the youth were residential support for rent, maintenance costs, and relocation, and the improvements of residential environments such as security, noise levels, and medical facilities. For the newlyweds, the important factors were housing loan assistance for a home purchase or a cheonsei deposit and residential quality improvements for air pollution and parking facilities. Third, the youth were likely to move out due to high rental costs, and the newlyweds were likely to move out for the purchase of a new apartment or higher-quality housing.

The purpose of this study was to investigate in the residence and the income choice attributes and usage pattern of Bakery Product Purchasers. The findings of survey showed that in general characteristics of respondents, Out of the total 1,235 people, 59.6% of them were women, 40.4% of them were men, so the number of females was slightly higher than that of males. On the matter of bakery purchase attributes, in the case of food life 'health-interest type' was the most popular with 40.0%. In residential areas, people living in large cities received 35.8% of the 'taste-interest type', while people living in small and medium sized cities received 45.4% of the 'health-interest type'(p<0.001), the higher the income, the more interested in your health(p<0.001). When purchasing bakery products, consumers had different importance factors such as taste 67.1%, nutrition 13.7%, price 7.8%, in residential areas was a significant difference(p<0.01). In bakery-using type, franchise bakery was 71.1%, window bakery 14.6%, in-store bakery 8.4%.
The importance of shear thinning non-Newtonian blood rheology on the hemodynamic characteristics of idealized cerebral saccular aneurysms were investigated by carrying out CFD simulations assuming two different non-Newtonian rheology models (Carreau and Ballyk models). To explore effects of vessel curvature, a straight and a curved vessel geometry were considered. The wall shear stress(WSS), relative residence time(RRT) and velocity distribution were compared at the different phases of cardiac cycle. As expected, blood entered the aneurysm at the distal neck and created large vortex in both aneurysms, but with higher momentum on the curved vessel. Hemodynamic characteristics such as WSS, and RRT exhibited only minor effects by choice of different rheological models although Ballyk model produced relatively higher effects. We conclude that the assumption of Newtonian fluid is reasonable for studies aimed at quantifying the hemodynamic characteristics, in particular, WSS-based parameters, considering the current accuracy level of medical image of cerebral aneurysm.
