Critical Factors Affecting the Choice of Logistics Service Provider: An Empirical Study in Vietnam

  • The trend of globalization leads an increased need for international freight transportation and accelerates the development of the international logistics industry. The objective of this paper is to identify the critical factors that affect the choice of logistics service provider (LSP). The data sample was collected through a questionnaire, responded by 218 companies that outsource logistics services. The analysis uses descriptive statistics; exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and regression analysis were conducted with SPSS. The role of capabilities, customer service, and company reputation were evaluated and tested. Our findings show that capabilities and customer service have a considerable impact on the choice of LSP. The findings also indicate that company reputation do not have significant impact on the choice of LSP. They also showed that the capabilities is the variable that has the most significant effect on the choice of LSP. An implication of this study is that the competition should not only focus on pricing, but should be extended to improving enterprises capabilities, i.e., upgrading human resources, modernizing the modes of transportation, expanding business geographically and developing new technologies. Our study provides LSP managers with insights into how to meet customer expectations in the competitive logistics service sector.

  • The purpose of this thesis is to provide basic information of efficient flow line arrangement, which results from examining the factors of route choice with a focus on the store' space elements and pedestrian activity patterns in the outlets. The route tracking is applied to grasp pedestrian activity patterns, therefore, a concrete analysis into influential factors of the space structure arrangement and forms on route choice. The route tracking is a means to understand pedestrian activity patterns by establishing an unrecognizable space and examining every route in the investigating area for pedestrian activity pattern research. Three sample stores have different systems in the ground plan structures, the escalator location and the directions. The analysis focuses on the booth arrangement and shopping patterns. In conclusion, route choice of the customers and the structure of the space are quite closely related and affect the quality of shopping. This can suggest evidence for the need of the space structure to meet the pedestrian activity patterns.

채소섭취량과 관련된 요인 및 조절변수에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Vegetable Intake-Related Factors and Moderated Variables)

  • The purpose is to investigate the factors moderating the relationships between food choice motives such as health concern, weight control and ethical concern, and vegetable intake. Data were collected from adult people(N=290) in Jeonnam Province for finding the correlation of the food choice motives and the moderated variables as food involvement and food neophobia with vegetable intake. Moderated regression analysis was used to analyse the survey data. The results indicates that the moderated variables of food involvement and food neophobia significantly affect vegetable intake. However, the food choice motives of health concern, weight control, ethical concern do not have significant effects on vegetable intake. The findings can help adult people prefer healthy eating.

Influencing Factors in High vs. Low Share Brand Choice

  • We investigate factors that influence the choice of high-share brands(HSBs) vs. low-share brands(LSBs) among various product and consumer characteristics related to brand-share perceptions. Specifically, using 8 product categories varying in terms of purchase decision involvement, we show how the influencing factors vary across the categories. At the general level that cover all the 8 categories, our hierarchical Bayesian regressions analysis shows that factors that favor high-share brands are purchase decision involvement, search goods, experience goods, price-quality relationship, positive network externalities, and price-prestige beliefs. Conversely, consumers who value variety seeking and need for uniqueness favor low-share brands. The effects of these factors, however, vary across product categories. The identification of these characteristics can help brand managers establish a more effective brand-share strategy in such areas as setting an optimal market share goal, extending a brand, and developing ad copy. Furthermore, our consumer segmentation analysis demonstrates the general market has two distinct segments - (1) a segment composed of HSB buyers(86%) and (2) a segment composed of LSB buyers(14%). The two segments are also shown to have different significant factors that explain their brand choice. Our segmentation analysis can help marketers establish a marketing strategy that targets a specific segment of interest.

  • Rail transport has grown over the Past decades, and rail networks have highly concentrated in urban area, and it is possible for rail passengers to choose a route anions a number of alternative routes. Analysis of factors influencing the choice of route, are required to estimate the rail travel demand of each route. In this paper, we describes route choice model for the transit assignment and characteristics of the route choice(i.e., by relative travel time and fares), and attempts to estimate travel demand of new rail transit based on the slated preference(SP) survey data of Nanko Porttown, which is located in Osaka, Japan.

과학 관련 진로 선택 과정의 구조 방정식 모형 (A Structural Equation Modeling of the Process of Science Related Career Choice)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학생들의 과학관련 진로 선택과 관련된 주요 요인들 사이의 인과 관계를 규명하여, 학생들의 과학진로 선택과정을 잘 설명할 수 있는 모형을 찾는 것이다. 요인 분석을 통하여 과학관련 진로 선택과 관련된 주요요인으로 과학 관련 진로에 대한 인식, 과학 학습에 대한 선호, 과학 관련 활동에의 참여 등 세 요인을 선정하였다. 구조방정식 모형을 통한 공변량 구조분석이 가능하도록 과학관련 진로 선택 요인을 알기 위한 설문지를 문헌연구와 예비검사를 통해 개발하였다. 연구대상은 서울 지역의 초등학교 6학년, 중학교 3학년, 고등학교 2학년 등 전체 947명으로, 학년별 남녀별 학생 수는 거의 같게 구성하였다. 과학관련 진로 선택의 주요 요인들 사이의 인과 구조를 설명하기 위하여 구조 방정식 모형을 통한 공변량 구조 분석의 결과, 이론 모형을 수정하여 자료와 잘 맞는 4가지 모형을 얻었다. 네 수정모형 모두에서, 과학 관련 진로 선택에 직접 영향을 미치는 것은 과학 관련 진로에 대한 인식이었고, 과학학습에 대한 선호와 과학 관련 활동 참여는 간접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 적합도 지수가 가장 좋은 모형에 의하면, 과학 관련 진로 선택에 대하여, 과학 관련 진로에 대한 인식은 0.82의 직접 효과와 0.21의 간접 효과를 합한 1.03의 전체효과를 주고, 과학학습에 대한 선호는 과학 관련 활동 참여에 영향을 주면서 0.65의 간접 효과를 주고, 과학 관련 활동 참여는 과학 관련 진로 인식에 영향을 주면서 0.79의 간접 효과를 주었다. 학교의 과학 교육에 대한 시사점으로는 더 많은 학생들이 과학 관련 진로를 선택하게 하려면, 과학관련 진로인식을 높이도록 하는 것이 가장 큰 효과를 줄 수 있으며, 다음으로는 다양한 관학관련 활동에 참여하도록 하는 것과 과학학습에 대한 선호를 높이도록 하는 것이 효과적이라 할 수 있다. 과학관련 진로선택 과정을 더 잘 설명하기 위해서는, 과학관련 진로 선택 요인들을 더욱 포괄하는 모형의 구축이 필요하여, 연구대상을 과학고 학생들이나, 과학기술계 대학생들로 하여 구조방정식 모형을 검증하고 보완할 필요가 있다. 과학관련 진로 선택에 영향을 주는 요인들을 고려한 과학진로교육 프로그램을 개발하여 투입하고 그 효과를 검증하는 연구가 필요하다.

Professional Inclination of Library and Information Science (LIS) Students of India: A Study of Socioeconomic Background and Career Choice Factors

  • The purpose of the study is to assess the professional inclination, academic and social background, family status and their occupation, gender distribution, choice of work, and their perceptions of aspirant LIS students. The study examined the various career choice factors and sources of motivation that influence the students of LIS profession. The data has been collected from the 251 LIS students' enrolled five prominent universities of North India. The results indicate that majority of female students join the LIS profession because of employment opportunities. Most of the respondents are from rural areas, hails to middle class families and their educational background in Arts/Humanities and Social Science subjects. Majority of the respondents choose the LIS profession as primary career because for the better employment possibilities. The study recommends the public awareness about the LIS profession in India.

여성 노년층 소비자의 라이프스타일과 점포선택요인에 관한 연구 - 의류제품을 중심으로 - (A Study on Lifestyle and Store Choice Factors for Elderly Women Consumer - Focus on Clothing Products -)

  • Recently, elderly populations are coming out as the first magnitude consumers. The purpose of the study is analyze the basic data useful to get the public attention concerning the development of the market for elderly by looking into the types of lifestyle and the store choice factors which may influence the elderly women consumer. This survey was performed on individuals of age 50 and older women. the types of lifestyle for elderly women consumer were classified into 3 types; self-oriented. traditional, family oriented, family oriented. Each group showed different store choice factors that affect purchase of clothing; ease of returning product, discount for best customer, delivery service, convenience in-store and parking, all fashion item, store ambience and interior decoration were significant difference. The result of the study will be very useful in establishing the relevant elderly marketing strategies and in providing the business opportunities of the market for elderly consumers.

안경착용자 방진마스크 착용 시 밀착계수와 착용시력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Fit Factor and Visual Acuity of Eyeglasses Wearers when Wearing Particulate Filtering Facepiece Respirators)

  • This study compares the difference of fit factors (FF) and visual acuity according to masks and eyeglasses preferences for 54 participants. We the precautions and behaviors of discomfort when wearing masks of eyewear wearers. Contact lens discomfort and priority action of complaints was investigated Glasses fitting factors is Optical Center Height(OH), Vertex Distance(VD) and Pantoscopic Angle(PA). We measured those factors and expressed by the ratio of standard point and change point. Quantitative fit factor was measured by Portacount Pro+ 8038. Also, we selected to 6 exercises among 8 exercises OSHA QNFT (Quantitative Fit testing) protocol to measure the fit factors. The pass/ fail criterion of FF was set at 100. Visual acuity(VA) test chart is developed by Chunsuk Han was used, Descriptive statistics was performed. Descriptive statistics(SAS ver 9.2), it is used geometric means, Wilcoxon analysis(P=0.05) When wearing the mask preferentially, fit factor(FF) was high according to the step of glasses fitting parameter. on the other hand, when the glasses first choice, the visual acuity(VA) was high. there was no significant difference. In the case of fit factor (FF), mask first choice/ glasses first choice is OH (p=0.671/ p=0.332), VD (p=0.602/ p=0.571) and PA (p=0.549/ p=0.607). Visual acuity (VA), mask first choice/ glasses first choice is OH (p=0.753/ p=0.386), VD (p=0.815/ p=0.557) and PA (p=0.856/ p=0.562). The workers of workplace and office chose glasses but occupational health workers and students chose mask. In case of discomforts, it was suggested to remove the mask and tolerate discomforts. The main discomforts and usual action of lens were dryness, hyperemia, foreign body sensation, ophthalmodynia, decreased vision and glasses wearing. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a mask wearing method education program considering glasses fitting and develop a hybrid model that minimizes inconvenience when wearing glasses and a mask at the same time.

종합병원 선택요인에 대한 내.외부고객의 중요도 - 성과도 분석 (IPA(Importance Performance Analysis) of Hospital Choice in Internal and External Customers)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate IPA(Importance Performance Analysis) of the hospital choice factor between internal and external customers at S general hospital. This study was used 5 types of choice factors such as physical, interpersonal, accessibility, connection, and image. This study was used Importance Performance Analysis which can be applied to identify the strengths and weaknesses attributes from hospital customers' viewpoint. The sample was selected 116 patients and 97 internal employees for S hospital in Seoul. Data were collected with self-reported questionnaires from April 1 to 29 in 2012 and analyzed by paired t-test, scatter plot graph. The result of the study was that the perceptional gaps between internal and external consumers were existed in physical, connection and image factors, except interpersonal, accessibility. The "Keep up the good work" quadrant was interpersonal factor, and the "Low Priority" quadrant was accessibility. The findings of this study will be applied to make hospital strategic decision making and to improve marketing service quality in administrative department of hospital.
