  • Much policy attention has been directed to the concentration of patients in large hospitals, especially in tertiary care hospitals. In order to address the problem, the government has enforced referral requirement for accessing care in tertiary care hospitals by denying insurance benefits to the patients who do not observe the requirement. This approach somehow has failed to produce expected effects although it still exists in theory. The concentration of patients in a certain type of providers results in the distortion of functional differentiation among various types of providers and vice versa. Thus the approaches for the alleviation of the problem should be directed to both patients and providers. However, policy approaches has so far focused on ways of directly affecting patients' choice of a provider neglecting the effects of providers. Based upon the observation, this paper has reviewed selected issues that should be considered in agenda setting for policies concerned with the concentration of patients in large hospitals or the distortion of functional differentiation among health care providers. A brief discussion of each of the issues suggests three general guidelines for the formulation and implementation of policies intended to address the problem. First, attention should be directed to both patients and providers. Secondly, it is necessary to employ diverse measures including regulation, incentives and administrative supports. Thirdly, some of the approaches should be planned from a long range perspective, for it often takes a long time to change some aspects of health care utilization and provision.

  • The purpose of this research project is to explain why high-achieving high school students in our country do or do not choose a science major and to explore gender differences. First-year students attending science high schools and international high school participated, responding to open-ended questions on science activities, self-concept of strengths for science learning, and rationales for choosing or not choosing a science major. For high- achieving students, it is shown that intrinsic interest has the greatest correlation with choosing a science major, with the next important influence being self-efficacy. On the other hand, in not choosing a science major, the lack of self-efficacy has a greater correlation than the lack of intrinsic interest. Self-concept in science-learning and science activities occurring outside of school classes are also compared and analyzed, and implications are discussed from educational and policy viewpoints.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study is to understand the experiences of career exploration among nursing students during their clinical practice and to develop a theoretical framework for the career exploration process. Methods: From February 2 to 28, 2015, data were collected through focus group interviews from 24 participating fourth-year nursing students. The data were analyzed using grounded theory. Results: The central phenomenon of 'confusion between the ideal and the reality of nursing' occurred in contexts for various reasons of choosing one's major, nurses in the ideal, a vague fear of the field, arduous nursing assignments in the field, and severe adversity in the nursing field. Nursing students tried to deal with their confusion by using interaction strategies such as pursuing the intrinsic value of nursing, finding role models, trying to project oneself, and preparing for adapting to reality. The career exploration process in clinical practice was a voyage to discover the authentic nurse of the pre-registration nurse. Conclusion: This result shows that nursing students were to gain confidence in their career choices by finding the value of nursing and interacting with patients. Therefore, opportunities for learning experiences about interaction with patients and various positive experiences in clinical practice should be provided for nursing students.

  • This study analyzes Korean childcare policy from a caring democracy perspective by using the normative policy analysis method. In the midst of emergent new social risks engendered by low fertility and aging population, feminist scholars proposed a transformative paradigm shift from economic growth to caring oriented development on a macro scale but researches on how this grand principle can be reflected into each policy have hardly been discussed. Thus, this study intends to contribute to such policy-driven discussion by analysing childcare policy on the basis of three normative values of freedom, equality and justice re-interpreted by caring democracy theory. Following are key findings. First, childcare policy does not guarantee public value and social solidarity due to the limitations of free choice from the perspective of freedom. Secondly, gender and class stratification has been worsened in a multiple and more complicated way by adding generational and racial dimensions to the existing gender inequality and vicious circulation of private care is observed from equality perspective. Thirdly, structural inequality aggravated injustice previously accumulated in the past rather than providing flat ground by adjustment.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate motivational factors and consequence of the herd behavior of adolescent consumers under the buying decision process in the connected era of internet. For such purpose, this study built a research model and examined how sensitivity to fads, interaction and inaccuracy affect the disequilibrium consumption of adolescents. We also examined the relationship between disequilibrium consumption and consumption happiness. The survey method was used for this paper, and data from a total of 142 students were used for the analysis. And structural equation model was used to analyze the data. The results of this empirical study is summarized as followings. First, sensitivity to fads and interaction have direct effect on the disequilibrium consumption of adolescents. Second, disequilibrium consumption has a positive effect on adolescents' consumption happiness. This implies that the importance of herd behavior in designing rational choice in adolescents' consumption behaviors.

  • The rapid development of the mobile internet has gradually changed the carrier of electronic games from PC to mobile. mobile games have become an excellent choice for many people to spend their spare time and enjoy life. Among many types of mobile games, Number of users of FPS games has increased rapidly in recent years. Based on the 《Emotional Design》 proposed by Donald Norman, this article compares the interaction design of China's most popular FPS game 《Game for peace》 and Korea's most popular FPS game 《PUBG》, and analyzes their similarities and differences, and then use that as a basis to summarize the three levels of emotional design-Visceral level, Behavior level, and Reflection level, which is the user interface, interaction mode, and interaction experience in interaction design Emotional expression on the two games. This theory provides suggestions for interactive design in the information industry such as mobile games.

  • How can Selfish people choose moral behaviors. Xunzi thought it can be done with Human reason. For him, people move for their own interest. So they must follow Yi(禮), if they understand the life that following Yi is better than following x?ngq?ng(性情). Xunzi' theory is going to meet following two problems. One, people do not choose Yi because heir selfish is the only power to do. Second, there is nothing to blame or punishment for violators because it is not the duty. I tried to explain with two solutions for Xunzi.

  • As the postsecondary school-age population continues to decline, universities are building identities to differentiate themselves and create a favorable impression among this cohort. We investigated the role of logo-bearing products as a way of promoting university identity, specifically, the effects of ingroup ties, ingroup affect, and centrality on attitude toward university logo products and purchase intention. This study further examined the moderating effects of perceived university prestige on the relationship between logo product attitude and in-store purchase intention, and the moderating effect of online shopping frequency on the relationship between logo product attitude and online purchase intention. We conducted a survey of undergraduate and graduate students at a university in Seoul. Survey responses (N=561) were collected and processed using SPSS 23.0. Multiple regression analysis showed that ingroup ties and affect had significant effects on product attitude. However, centrality had no significant effect on attitude toward the product. Product attitude had a direct significant effect on both in-store and online purchase intention. Perceived university prestige moderated the relationship between product attitude and in-store purchase intention. Moreover, online shopping frequency moderated the relationship between product attitude and online purchase intention. The results of this study are expected to provide fundamental knowledge for developing product strategy of logo products.

  • Creation of plastic deformation under seismic loads, is one of the most serious subjects in RC structures with steel bars which reduces the life threatening risks and increases dissipation of energy. Shape memory alloy (SMA) is one of the best choice for the relocating plastic hinges. In a challenge to study the seismic response of concrete moment resisting frame (MRF), this article investigates numerically a new type of concrete frames with nano fiber reinforced polymer (NFRP) and shape memory alloy (SMA) hinges, simultaneously. The NFRP layer is containing carbon nanofibers with agglomeration based on Mori-Tanaka model. The tangential shear deformation (TASDT) is applied for modelling of the structure and the continuity boundary conditions are used for coupling of the motion equations. In SMA connections between beam and columns, since there is phase transformation, hence, the motion equations of the structure are coupled with kinetic equations of phase transformation. The Hernandez-Lagoudas theory is applied for demonstrating of pseudoelastic characteristics of SMA. The corresponding motion equations are solved by differential cubature (DC) and Newmark methods in order to obtain the peak ground acceleration (PGA) and residual drift ratio for MRF-2%. The main impact of this paper is to present the influences of the volume percent and agglomeration of nanofibers, thickness and length of the concrete frame, SMA material and NFRP layer on the PGA and drift ratio. The numerical results revealed that the with increasing the volume percent of nanofibers, the PGA is enhanced and the residual drift ratio is reduced. It is also worth to mention that PGA of concrete frame with NFRP layer containing 2% nanofibers is approximately equal to the concrete frame with steel bars.

  • In this paper, acting of Meryl Streep, who was recognized as a method actor in Hollywood, was analyzed, and this paper tried to find out how Meryl Streep utilizes the American acting method to improve her acting skills. To do this, we first looked at the concepts and theories of the American acting method, and analyze the acting of Meryl Streep through three films: "Sophie's Choice", "The Devil Wears Prada", and "The Iron Lady". Analysis results show that Meryl Streep utilizes all of the American acting methods, such as "Emotional memory", "Imagination", "Given Circumstance", and "Repetition" without any particular distinction. Meryl Streep uses not a specific acting theory, but selects appropriate training for herself. According to the analysis of this paper, we can understand the acting method that Meryl Streep uses, and shows some way to develop the acting training. The result of this paper can be used to the acting training, and it will be an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of one of the greatest actress.
