EDCA 환경의 낮은 우선순위 데이터 처리율 향상 (EDCA for Data Throughput improvement of Lowest Priority)

  • 본 논문은 IEEE 802.11 에서 QoS(Quality of Service)를 지원하는 환경에서 낮은 우선순위를 가지는 트래픽이 무선매체를 점유했을 때 TXOP 시간을 동적으로 적용하는 방법을 기술하였다. 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.11e 환경에서 AP가 Beacon 메시지를 통하여 TXOP 시간을 통보함으로써 매체 접근 시도에 발생하는 충돌 감소와 낮은 우선순위 트래픽의 처리량을 증가하는 기법을 제안한다.

오배자(Rhus javanica) 추출물의 어병세균 Vibrio ichthyoenteri와 Streptococcus iniae에 대한 항균활성 (Antibacterial Activity of Rhus javanica against the Fish Pathogens Vibrio ichthyoenteri and Streptococcus iniae)

  • The antibacterial activities of methanol extracts of 19 commercial herbal medicines were measured against the fish pathogens Vibrio ichthyoenteri and Streptococcus iniae, which cause several fish diseases. Rhus javanica showed the strongest antibacterial activity against V. ichthyoenteri and S. iniae. The methanol extract of R. javanica was extracted further using several organic solvents with different polarities. The extract from the ethyl acetate fraction showed strong activity against both fish pathogens. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the R. javanica extract was $32{\mu}g/mL$ for V. ichthyoenteri and $128{\mu}g/mL$ for S. iniae. Further purification and isolation of the active compound (s) responsible for these activities and further study of the synergistic effect using combinations of antibiotics against pathogenic bacteria are needed.

Treatment of Peritonsillar Abscess: Needle Aspiration versus Incision and Drainage

  • Background and Objectives: The Objective of this study was to compare the effectiveness of the needle aspiration method and the I&D method in the treatment of peritonsillar abscess. Materials and Methods: A prospective clinical study was performed on 83 patients. All the patients were hospitalized after random treatment with either I&D or needle aspiration alone, received the same intravenous antibiotic therapy. Among the 83 patients, 73 patients who could be observed for longer than 6 months and had not undergone a tonsillectomy during the follow-up period, were analyzed for treatment outcomes. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in the initial failure rate(p=0.572), the hospitalized days(p=0.956), the recurrence rate(p=0.531) for the needle aspiration(35 patients) and I&D groups(38 patients). But, The mean duration of fever were statistically different in the needle aspiration(1.51 hours) and I&D groups(3.05 hours) (p=0.031). Conclusion: Two methods are thought to be similar in effectiveness, except that duration of fever was longer in the I&D group than in the needle aspiration group. However, taking advantages of the needle aspiration method into consideration, the needle aspiration of peritonsillar abscess may be more appropriate than I&D as an initial method for peritonsillar abscess

  • Many photovoltaic(PV) systems are being developed and installed. For a PV developer, simulations are required before the experimental testing. However, most simulation tools do not offer data libraries for PV systems, so that some Institutes who try to use such software will be in difficulty. In this paper, simulations of performance and stability have been carried out using the software PSPICE. In this paper, the modelling of solar cell arrays, photovoltaic modules, PV generators, batteries and drive systems is carried out based on mathematical equivalence circuits and available data, and the models are converted into a data library for PSPICE that is user friendly. System variations can be modeled by simple parameter variation. To verify the accuracy of the simulation library, various models were run and compared to known systems.

  • In this paper, an investigation was performed on the ModeII dynamic interlaminar fracture toughness of unidirectional CFRP laminates. The stacking sequences used in this experiment are two kinds of [$0_20$] and [$0_{10}F_20_{10}$]. In the experiments, Split Hopkinson's Bar test was applied to dynamic and notched flexure test. The Mode II fracture toughness of each unidirectional CFRP was estimated by the analyzed deflection of the specimen and J-Integral with the measured impulsive load and reactions at the supported points. As an experimental results, the specimen [$0_{10}F_20_{10}$] appears greater than that of [$0_20$] for the J-integral and displacement velocity at a measuring point within the range of experiment.

  • Antisense molecules are structurally simple linear oligomers of nucleotides. They can recognize a complementary sequence by base pairing, therefore, antisense drugs composed of 15-16 bases are potentially useful, unlike drugs such as protein agonists, antagonists, and inhibitors. Since antisense oligomers are classified as nucleotides, they are subject to attack by nucleases. In order to be antisense drugs resistant to degradation by nucleases, the structural modifications in the linkages, bases, and sugars to satisfy this requirement are considerable. We attempted in this study, to synthesize 16-mer antisenses with a modified linkage and adenosine. When studying on the three-dimensional structure of the oligomer, however, the existence of isomers may complicate the interpretation of the NMR data. Therefore, an attempt was made to eliminate the above problem, thus, two dimers were synthesized and their structural studies were carried out.

  • 본 연구에서는 가변 추력기 3D 모델에 대해 CFD를 이용하여 고온 고압 환경에서의 추력 조절기 표면 열전달 계수를 예측하였다. 추력 조절기 표면에 열차폐코팅(TBC)을 모델링하였고, TBC 코팅의 두께가 추력조절기 내부 온도 분포에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. TBC층의 두께는 $100{\mu}m{\sim}500{\mu}m$로 변화시켰다. 해석 결과, TBC층의 두께가 증가함에 따라 추력 조절기 표면과 내부 온도는 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the affected part acupuncture moving treatment for acute radial nerve palsy patient who has Cervical Herniation. Methods : We examined 1 patient with Radial nerve palsy who admitted Jaseng Hospital of Oriental Medicine. The patient was treated by the affected part acupuncture moving treatment including herbal mixture. Results : In this study, in the end of affected part acupuncture moving treatment, patient's condition has improved. Muscle strength was also increased. Conclusions : The affected part acupuncture moving treatment for acute radial nerve palsy was effective in restore of functional activities, but this treatment needs more study.

  • The use of new and renewable energy is essential to solve the problem of increasing fossil fuel use due to industrial development. The paradigm of the automobile industry has changed due to the strengthening of environmental regulations in developed countries, and the development of eco-friendly cars is underway. Fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), which use hydrogen as fuel, require strict standards for fuel-related components. In particular, check valves for FCEV control high-pressure hydrogen and thus, must be sufficiently strong for the challenging environment caused by high-pressure hydrogen. Therefore, this study used DEFORM 3D, a regular finite element analysis program, to check the moldability of check valves for FCEV, design the process, verify reliability through single streamline analysis, tensile tests, and ANSYS simulations, and identify suitable materials for the high-pressure hydrogen environment.

  • This study examined the effect of calcium (AC) extracted from salt fermented anchovy Engraulis japonicus on osteoporosis in ovariectomized (OVX) SD female rats. After AC treatment for 8 weeks, the body weight of the OVX-AC group decreased, while the weight of the OVX group (control) increased 43.9%. The blood osteocalcin, calcium, and ALP levels were examined as physiological markers for osteoporosis. The concentrations of all markers were elevated in the OVX-AC group compared to the OVX group. Thus, anchovy calcium is useful as an organic calcium supplement.
