  • The LED light source has many excellent advantages for the application of LCD backlight module. As we know, the operational temperature can significantly influence the characteristics of LEDs. Heat can decrease LED's output light intensity and make its dominant wavelength (${\lambda}d$) drift. These two factors make display's color temperature change and induce different NTSC results. Here, we perform an important relation between NTSC and the above two factors of LED-LCD display.

  • This paper described a 2.2" $QCIF^+$ ($176{\times}RGB{\times}220$) active matrix organic light-emitting diode display (AMOLED) using low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) technology. We have designed the OLED pixel to match the OLED material characteristic with COG specification and optimized pixel structure to improve color gamma adjustment and simplify signal complexity.

  • A highly efficient blue organic light-emitting diode (OLED) was fabricated by using a novel polymer host, poly[3-(carbazol-9-ylmethyl)-3-methyloxetane]. The resultant solution-processed device showed a markedly high efficiency of 29.7 lm/W at 100 cd/$m^2$ by doping 24 wt% blue dye bis(3,5-difluoro-2-(2-pyridyl)-phenyl-(2-carboxy pyridyl) iridium (III).

  • The liquid crystal device with switchable dynamic mode and memory mode has been investigated and developed. The proposed device reveals splay, ${\pi}$ twist and bend states by selective switching among them. In the dynamic mode, this device is operated in the bend state which exhibits the wide view angle and fast response time properties due to the self-compensated bend structure and flow accelerated fast response time. In the memory mode, the permanent memory characteristics in the splay and ${\pi}$ twist sates are obtained, respectively. The switching mechanisms of the tristate device are also proposed.

  • We reported a simplified circuit model to investigate the interface states and the quality of a-Si film based on a MIS structure using admittance spectroscopy. The model can be employed easily to monitor the fabrication process of thin-film transistor and to obtain the important parameters.

  • Advanced-MVA(A-MVA) for LCD-TV application was proposed to yield high performance LCD-TV. By utilizing Additional Refresh Technology(ART), which has 2-TFTs but with single source and gate line only. The A-MVA can yield low color washout, fast response, and optimized brightness. AMVA has become the promising solution of advanced LCDTV panels for mass-production.

  • We have derived the luminosity function for subdwarfs on the basis of the proper motion data in LHS Catalogue, utilizing the reduced proper motion diagram for the selection of sub dwarfs and the hybrid method combining the mean absolute magnitude method and V/$V_m$ method to estimate the distance and density of subdwarfs. The luminosity function found here is almost flat, showing a very slow increase up to $M_V\;=\;9$ or $M_B\;=\;10$, and the overall halo density is larger than those derived by Schmidt (1975), Chiu (1980), Reid (1984), Lee (1985), and Dawson (1986), but smaller than that by Eggen (1983). Comparison with 1/100 of disk stellar luminosity function implies that no conclusive dip in the halo luminosity function is found.

  • There have been several tipical methods being used to measure the fuzziness (entropy) of fuzzy sets. Pedrycz is the original motivation of this paper. This paper studies the entropy variation on the fuzzy numbers with arithmetic operations(addition, subtraction, multiplication) and the relationship between entropy and information energy. It is shown that through the arithmetic operations, the entropy of the resultant fuzzy number has the arithmetic relation with the entropy of each original fuzzy number. Moreover, the information energy variation on the fuzzy numbers is also discussed. The results generalize earlier results of Pedrycz [FSS 64(1994) 21-30] and Wang and Chiu [FSS 103(1999) 443-455].

  • In recent years, many electronics producing firms have looked upon total quality management (TQM) strategy as a means by which they could maintain competitive advantage. This empirical research evaluates TQM strategic factors in order to determine the critical success factors in environmental uncertainty. Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) is the proposed research methodology to discuss and tackle the different decision criteria like effective leadership, people management, customer focus, strategic plan and process management, being involved in identifying the TQM strategic critical success factors with uncertainty. The result shows that effective leadership is the most critical success factor in TQM strategy.
