This paper presents a discussion on lubricating oil filters. The maintenance of lubricating oil filters can improve the performance of mechanical systems and extend the service life of the lubricating oil. Therefore, the effective management of the lubricating oil can extend the service life of the machine and reduce maintenance costs. A representative method for managing lubricating oil is filtering the lubricating oil using a lubricant filter. However, effectively managing a lubricating oil using a lubricant filter requires an understanding of the related knowledge. In this paper, we present the definition, classification, characteristics, specifications, performance, and self-cleaning function of lubricating oil filters. The lubricant filters are classified based on the filter material, filtering method, filtering location, and amount of filtered fluid. Cellulose and glass fiber materials are conventionally used as materials for lubricant filters, and recently, metal materials, which show excellent durability, are being increasingly adopted. The filtering methods can be classified into physical, chemical, magnetic, and electric field methods, and the lubricant filters can be classified according to their location in the lubrication system. The beta ratio and efficiency of the lubricant filter can be determined based on the performance of the filter. Finally, there are many products or technologies that add a self-cleaning function to the filter to remove foreign substances or contaminants for efficient management.
Chemical compositions and biological functions of brown colorants extracted from pine bark(Pinus densiflora) have been studied. Dyeing test using multifiber fabrics with extracted colorants were preliminary carried out. Dyeing conditions and fastness tests of selected fabrics have been also studied. The brown colorants were produced 1.5% concentrations by solvent extraction from milled pine bark using methanol. The colorants were extracted with 80% methanol as best choice by a criteria of solid quantity and dyeability on fabrics. The chemical compositions were identified as mixtures of taxifolin epicatechin and procyanidin by LC/MS analysis. The brown colorants could be dyed not only natural fibers such as cotton, silk and wool but also synthetic fiber as nylon and semi-synthetic fiber as viscose rayon. Maximum K/S values was shown at 400 nm according to different fiber with color appearance of redish brown. Optimum pH and temperature of dyeing conditions was 4 and above $80^{\circ}C$, respectively. The brown colorants had a strong antioxidant activity compared to Butylated hydroxyanisole as standard and weak antimicrobial activity against E. coli. compared to kanamycin. Washing, rubbing, perspiration, dry cleaning and light fastness for cotton, nylon and silk dyed with the brown colorants were carried out by KS K method. Most of color fastness such as washing, rubbing, perspiration, and dry cleaning were represented as 4-5 grade. However, light fastness was reported as 2-3 grade. From this studies, brown colorants produced pine bark have a high potentials for natural dyeing on fabrics with antioxidant activity.

To remove metal stains of the ceramics, chemical cleaning is essential case by case. This study investigated the removal characteristics of iron stains by oxalic acid and citric acid including their application methods of soaking and poultice. The soaking method in cleaning agents showed removal process by color difference and released iron contents from iron stains on ceramics. Iron stains were removed successfully from ceramics, which soaked in oxalic acid for 60 hours. However, it is recommendable to soak in 0.25M oxalic acid for one to three hours because most iron stains were disappeared in 3 hours soaking. Citric acid is less effective than oxalic acid in removing iron stains because of heavy molecular weight and low acidity. Poultices (bentonite, sepiolite, activated carbon fiber and celite) with oxalic acid were applied on contaminated ceramics. After ten hours, iron stains on ceramics were removed successfully by poultice. Among them, bentonite and sepiolite have better application. Therefore, sepiolite with 0.25M oxalic acid was applied on the iron stains of whiteware and celadon from Ma Island, and then stains were removed. However, it is judged that the application methods can be varied according to the form and depth of contaminant. In addition, the residues of poultice on the ceramics will be considered for preventing contamination.

The deactivated catalyzed diesel particulate filter-trap (DPF) was remanufactured by ultrasonic wave treatment with various prepared solutions, followed by active component re-impregnation, and the emission control performance and surface properties of remanufactured DPF were studied at various remanufacturing conditions. The proper ultrasonic wave cleaning time at various prepared solutions and optimal re-impregnation amounts of active component for the best emission control performance of DPF were investigated and its performance tests were also carried out with various temperatures for the conversions of CO, THC (total hydrocarbon) and PM (particulate matter) by catalytic reaction test unit using bypass gas from the diesel engine dynamo system. It was found that the emission control performance of DPF remanufactured with the high-temperature air washing, ultrasonic wave cleaning at acid/base solutions and active component re-impregnation method was recovered to 95% level of its activity compared to that of the fresh DPF, which was caused by removing the deactivating materials from the surface of the DPF, through the analyses of performance test and their surface characterization by Optical microscope, EDX, ICP, TGA, and porosimeter.

Recently, STI process is getting attention as a necessary technology for making high density of semiconductor by devices isolation method. However, it does have various problems caused by CMP nprocess, such as torn oxide defects, nitride residues on oxide, damages of si active region, contaminations due to post-CMP cleaning, difficulty of accurate end point detection in CMP process, etc. In this work, the various defects induced by CMP process was introduced and the above mentioned problems of CMP process was examined in detail. Finally, the guideline of future CMP process was presented to reduce the effects of these defects.
Three chemical precleaning methods-degreasing, electropolishing and acidic etching-suitable for stainless steel vacuum chamber have been studied and compared. The techniques used in evaluating and comparing the three treatments include Auger analysis and the measurement of the outgassing rate. The obtained outgassing rates (N2 equivalent) are 1.1 $\times$ 10-10torr l/s cm2 and 3.9 $\times$ 10-11torr l/s cm2 for degreasing electropolishing, and etching method, respectively, after 48 hours from the initial pumpdown at room temperature. A simple model is introduced to analyze the pumpdown curve. Some surface parameters, such as surface coverage, mean residence time, and desorption energy, are calculated from corresponding equations derived from this model.

In this study, the effect of sosurfactant on microemulsion phase behavior was investigated in ternary systems containing alkyl ethoxylates nonionic surfactant, water and d-limonene. The addition of a cosurfactant produced a microemulsion phase over a wide range of temperature and promoted formation of a microemulsion phase at lower temperatures. In particular, small amounts of n-propanol, as a cosurfactant, were found to be the most effective in extending a microemulsion phase region over a wide range of temperature. Temperature sensitivity of a nonionic surfactant system was effectively relieved by addition of the anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate. And the formation of one phase microemulsion was not affected by pH, hardness concentration and addition of an antioxidation agent. The cleaner candidates were determined from microemulsion phase behavior study, and their cleaning efficiency was tested using a dipping method. All the cleaner candidates selected during this study showed excellent removal efficiency for abietic acid over a temperature range from 30 to $40^{\circ}C$ presumably due to a decrease in interfacial tension.
The deactivated diesel oxidation catalyst(DOC) was remanufactured by ultrasonic wave treatment with various solutions, followed by active component re-impregnation. The catalytic performance and surface properties of remanufactured DOC were studied at various remanufacturing conditions. It was found that the catalytic performance of DOC remanufactured with the high-temperature air washing, ultrasonic wave cleaning at acidic/basic solutions and active component re-impregnation method was recovered to 90% level of its activity compared to that of the fresh DOC, which was caused by removing the deactivating materials from the surface of the DOC through the analyses of catalyst performance test and their characterization by Optical microscope, EDX, ICP, TGA, and porosimeter.
For the purpose of this Study, the situation of Korean costume properties in the collection of overseas museums was investigated through correspondence, interviews with their curators and persons in charge and survey. As results were made about the situation of museum science (conservation) and practical utilization of costume properties. So, the study result were drawn as follows : Krean costume properties unexplaind of 'Korean cultural Properties' could be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York(135 pieces), the Brooklyn Museum of New York(20 pieces), the Newark Museum of New Jersey(15 pieces), and the Victoria Albert Museum of London(100 pieces). Korean costume properties in the collection of over-seas museums mostly fall under the rang of period between the 19th century and the early 20th century and are classified into everyday clothing, wedding costume and armors for the most part. In 1900s, museum in several countries began to collected Korean cultural properties through foreign missionaries or diplomats as well as merchants or travellers in who bought Korean objects. Recently, scholars, traditional Korean costume designerss and diplomatic and consular offices in overseas have donated our Korean costume to many foreign museums. Korean costume properties were largely on display in the dependent display of folklore museums or in a part of exhibition gallery for Asian culture and there were the separate exhibition rooms in museums in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Japan and the United States America. But the size and level of display room for Korean cultural properties is one third as large as that for chinese or Japanese cultual properties. It was found in this study that the traditional Korean costume in the collection of overseas museums was largely recorded only as general items rather than given their proper names. The typical example of misnaming included bridal's Kimono for Wonsam(원삼) in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yeonroksaek-bumunsajeokori for Dangeui(당의) and Jissan-gryongwonmunsadurumagi for Kongdali(동달이) in the Okura collection of the Tokyo National Museum, and so on. And the Victoria Albert Museum modified the way of wearing Daenim(대님) and the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka seemed to misplace the ornament of Keanggi(댕기) on Mubok(무복) and Josunjuk(조선족: Chinese-Korean) Museum also misplace hansam(한삼). On the one hand, the Newark museum of New Jersey mixed Chinese armor with the Korean one and the Photohraph of King Kojong(고종) with Chinese one. It is corrected to publish and disseminate the book concering Korean costume in order to inform foreign museums of thed proper names and wearing method of our traditional costumed. The repair of costume before cleaning in the process of conservation treatment can prevent damage likely to occur as the properties of fiber itself are weakened in liquid. It is recommended that western 8-figure stitch and tacking stitch is added to Korean traditional stitching method. Museums in the U.S.A and the U.K are concerned about the aftermath of cleaning it-self, specially conservation treatment may exert on remains and predominantly use the vacuuming method to remove dust or bits of straw before the exhibition beings. But in case of Korea, the dry cleaning and wet cleaning method are used according to the nature and state of a sample costume. This comprehensive cleaning method is gradually developing scientifically but it is expected that those concerned will make a chemical analysis of the solvent to be used and also the more precise test of costume properties will be conducted before cleaning them. A partial study was made here because the scope of study was too broad and vast. It is expected that more studies will be conducted concerning our costume culture under the long-term plan and active support at the government level.
