An integral electrode-bipolar plate assembly, which is composed of electrode, conductive adhesive film (CAF) and bipolar plate, has been developed and evaluated for application with a vanadium redox flow battery (VRB) to decrease contact resistance between electrode and bipolar plate. The CAF, made of EVA (ethylene-vinyl-acetate) material with carbon black or CNT (Carbon Nano Tube), is applied between the electrode and the bipolar plate to enable an integral assembly by adhesion. In order to evaluate the integral assembly of VRB by adhesive film, the resistivity of integral assembly and the performance of single cell were investigated. Thus, it was verified that the integral assembly is applicable to redox flow battery. Through resistance and contact resistance of bare EVA and CAF films on bipolar plate were changed. Among the adhesive films, CAF film coated with carbon black showed the lowest value in through resistance, and CAF film coated with CNT showed the lowest value in contact resistance, respectively. The efficiency of VRB single cell was improved by applying CAF films coated with carbon black and CNT, resulting in the reduced overvoltage in charging process. Therefore, the energy efficiency of both CAF films, about 84%, were improved than that of blank cell, about 79.5 % under current density at 40 mA cm-2. The energy efficiency of the two cells were similar, but carbon black coated CAF improved the coulomb efficiency and CNT coated CAF improved the voltage efficiency, respectively.

A novel pulse fitting analysis (PFA) method is presented for the acquisition of nuclear spectra. The charging process of the feedback capacitor in the resistive feedback charge-sensitive preamplifier is equivalent to the impulsive pulse, and its impulse response function (IRF) can be obtained by non-linear fitting of the falling edge of the nuclear pulse. The integral of the IRF excluding the baseline represents the energy deposition of the particles in the detector. In addition, since the non-linear fitting process in PFA method is difficult to achieve in the conventional architecture of spectroscopy system, a new multi-channel analyzer (MCA) based on Zynq SoC is proposed, which transmits all the data of nuclear pulses from the programmable logic (PL) to the processing system (PS) by high-speed AXI-Stream in order to implement PFA method with precision. The linearity of new MCA has been tested. The spectrum of 137Cs was obtained using LaBr3(Ce) scintillator detector, and was compared with commercial MCA by ORTEC. The results of tests indicate that the MCA based on PFA method has the same performance as the commercial MCA based on pulse height analysis (PHA) method and excellent linearity for γ-rays with different energies, which infers that PFA method is an effective and promising method for the acquisition of spectra. Furthermore, it provides a new solution for nuclear pulse processing algorithms involving regression and iterative processes.
In this study, impurity free V3.5+ electrolytes were prepared using formic acid as a reducing agent and PtD/C as a catalyst and it was applied to VRFB. The well-oriented 3D dendrite structure of the PtD/C catalyst showed high catalytic activity in formic acid oxidation reaction and vanadium reduction reaction. As a result, the conversion ratio of electrolyte using the PtD/C was 2.73 mol g-1 h-1, which was higher than that of 1.67 mol g-1 h-1 of Pt/C prepared by the polyol method. In addition, in the VRFB charging and discharging experiment, the V3.5+ electrolyte produced by the catalytic reaction showed the same performance as the standard V3.5+ electrolyte prepared by the electrolytic method, thus proving that it can be used as an electrolyte for VRFB.

This study comprehensively analyzed the perceptions of Chinese consumers who have and have not purchased Samsung smartphones, based on data from the social media platform Weibo. Various big data analysis techniques were used, including text mining, frequency analysis, centrality analysis, semantic network analysis, and CONCOR analysis. The results indicate that positive perceptions of Samsung smartphones include aspects such as design aesthetics, camera functionality, AI features, screen quality, specifications, and performance, and their status as a premium brand. On the other hand, negative perceptions include issues with pricing, a yellow tint in photos, slow charging speeds, and safety concerns. These findings will provide a crucial basis for making significant improvements in Samsung's market strategy in China.

Electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) used currently in industries for removing fine particles from semiconductors have to be made of expensive anticorrosive metallic materials in order to maintain their particle-removal performance. To satisfy the economical demands of industries, a novel ESP was developed; in this ESP, the charger is made of carbon fibers and collection plates consist of PET films among which an aluminum sheet is inserted. The ESP was evaluated by changing the voltages applied to the chargers and collection plates, flow rates, and number of charging channels. KCl particles with mean diameters of 100 nm were used, and a scanning mobility particle sizer was used to measure the changes in particle number concentrations upstream and downstream of the ESP. The experimental results showed that more than 90% of the particles were removed by using the ESP containing ionizers with nine channels and 65-mm collection plates at $500\;m^3/hr$ when voltages of 7 kV and 10 kV were applied to the ionizers and collection plates, respectively.
Watching the leakage accident of the Gumi Hube Global AHF(Anhydrous fluoric Acid), I experienced how much chemical accidents affect on our society. Since then, many studies have been conducted on chemical accident in many fields. The use department wanted to find improvement plans for the process system and apply them to the field. The safety field wanted to study improvement of safety through the analysis of damage effects and apply them to emergency response to reduce damage effects. In this study, Mechanical safe devices have been applied which can respond quickly to chemical accidents occurring during the charging operation to enhance the safety of the AFH ISO Tank(Anhydrous fluoric Acid International Organization for Standardization Tank). Investigation of similar tanks confirmed that other chlorine tanks with the same working procedure as AHF ISO Tank have a mechanical safety device, EFV(Excess Flow Valve). Applicability and performance for emergency shutdown when EFV is introduced in AHF ISO Tank can be verified by comparing and examining the accident situation of Hube Global Accident and the accident in Ulsan 2018. Comparing accident cases, expected performance and applicability, It is suggested that EFV, a mechanical safety device that can reduce damage from chemical accidents to the tank and handle accidents early, should be introduced to the tank.

In recent years, to reduce self-weight of structural elements, the use of SCP (Steel Concrete Plate) instead of prestressed concrete is increasing. Because SCP has a complicated sectional shape and includes a large number of studs, the use of high-fluidity concrete is required. Therefore, in this study, to prevent the restrained shrinkage behavior by the stud, the effects of using an expansive agent (EA) and shrinkage reducing agent (SRA) were investigated, and the optimal mixture proportions to maximize the filling capacity were determined based on the fine aggregate ratio. The test results indicated that the combined use of EA and SRA exhibited the smallest shrinkage. The ratio of the crushed sand and washed sea sand was determined to be 5:5, and the proper fine aggregate ratio was found to be 55.6%, because when the ratio was too high, a decrease in strength and an increase in shrinkage strain were expected. The high-fluidity concrete effectively filled the large-sized SCP module.

Li-ion cells employ lithium transtion metal oxide as the cathode material and carbon as anode material. To manufacture Li-ion cell with higher capacity and better cycle life, the utilization of electrode materials should be as high as possible without lithium deposition onto the carbon surface during charging. A careful design of cell balance between cathode and anode materials as well as a proper charge method is a key factor to design Li-ion cell with long cycle life. In this study, we investigated the effect of cathode/anode weight ratio on the performance of $LiCoO_2/MPCF$ cell. First we evaluated the charge-discharge behaviours of half-cells. And cylindrical Li-ion cells were fabricated using graphitized MPCF anode and $LiCoO_2$ cathode. The voltage profiles for each half-cell in $LiCoO_2/MPCF$ cell were measured by using lithium metal as a reference electrode. Also, we evaluated the cyclic performance of $LiCoO_2/MPCF$ cells according to weight ratio. From the result of experiment $LiCoO_2$ cathode utilization was independent of weight ratio, but MPCF anode utilization was dependant on weight ratio. Also, the optimal weight ratio of $LiCoO_2/MPCF$ cell was found to be $2.0\~2.2$.

A model for the numerical simulation of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) is developed for use in battery cell design, with a view to improving the performances of such batteries. The model uses Newman-type electrochemical and transfer $theories^{(1,2)}$ to describe the behavior of the lithium-ion cell, together with the Levenberg-Marquardt optimization scheme to estimate the performance or design parameters in nonlinear problems. The mathematical model can provide an insight into the mechanism of LIB behavior during the charging/discharging process, and can therefore help to predict cell performance. Furthermore, by means of least-squares fitting to experimental discharge curves measured at room temperature, we were able to obtain the values of transport and kinetic parameters that are usually difficult to measure. By comparing the calculated data with the life-test discharge curves (SB LiMotive cell), we found that the capacity fade is strongly dependent on the decrease in the reaction area of active materials in the anode and cathode, as well as on the electrolyte diffusivity.
[ $LiNi_{1-x}Co_xO_2\;(x=0.0\~1.0)$ ] powders were synthesized by citrate method, and their crystal structures and electrochemical performance as the cathode material in Li secondary batteries were analyzed. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that all the samples carry a single phase regardless of the Co substitution. The results of Rietveld refinement suggested that the crystal structure of solid solutions varies according to the Co substitution. When the Co substitution is low $(x=0.3\~0.5)$, the solid solutions carry a cubic-like structure with a relatively small value in the ratio of lattice parameters (c/a). The solid solutions made with a higher Co substitution (x=0.7), however, exhibit a layered structure with a higher c/a ratio. This difference was also observed in the electrochemical voltage spectroscopy (EVS) profiles, whereby the Co component in scarcely substituted materials shows a charging reaction at $3.7V\;(vs.\;Li/Li^+)$, but in the heavily substituted ones at 3.92V.
