Single Cell Li-ion 전지 충전 IC (Single Cell Li-ion Battery Charger)

  • This paper suggests a autonomous linear Li-ion battery charger which can safely distribute power between an external power source(AC adapter, auto adapter, or USB source), battery, and the system load. Depending on an external power source's capability, the charger selects proper charging-mode automatically. The charger IC designed and fabricated on Dongbu HITEC's $0.35{\mu}m$ BCD process with layers of one poly and three metals.

  • In this study the behavior of engine cooling loss and overall heat transfer coefficient were studied experimentally using naturally aspirated engine and turbo charged engine. Using turbo charging, heat dissipation was increased because of the density of the mixture was increased with increment of inlet air flow rate. Therefore, cooling loss of turbo charged engine is larger than naturally aspirated engine. As taking the measurement of surface temperature of combustion chamber, gas heat transfer coefficient was calculated and found that it has greatly affected to overall heat transfer coefficient. The empirical formula of overall heat transfer coefficient established in order to predict of engine cooling loss and express only as a function of mean piston velocity.

  • The SOC estimation method based on Kalman Filter(KF) requires the accurate battery model to express the electrical characteristics of the battery. However, the performance of KF SOC estimator can hardly be improved because of the nonlinear characteristic of the battery. This paper proposes the new KF SOC estimator of Lithium-Polymer Battery(LiPB), which considers the variation of parameters based on the hysteresis effect, the magnitude of SOC, the charging/discharging mode and the on/off load conditions. The proposed SOC estimation method is verified with the PSIM simulation combined the experimental data of the LiPB.

  • Generally, Capacitor charging power supply (CCPS) consist of the full-bridge inverter, LC resonant tank and capacitance load. The multi-connection systems are normally used for high voltage or high power application. In this paper, conventional parallel operation resonant type and proposed series operation PWM type CCPS for pulse corona occurrence of DeSOx, DeNOx system using magnetic pulse compressor make a comparison. The effect of proposed CCPS is verified by circuit characteristics analysis of parallel operation resonant type and series operation PWM type, and it is confirmed by simulation result.

전축열방식 빙축열 시스템의 최적제어 알고리즘 (Optimal Control Algorithms for the Full Storage Ice Cooling System)

  • Optimal control algorithms for the full storage ice cooling system were developed by using a dynamic simulation program. Control algorithms for the storage charging mode were developed for the chiller outlet temperature setpoint control and the chiller capacity control. Control algorithms for the storage discharging mode were developed for the proper mode selection, the storage-only mode control, and the storage-priority chiller-shared mode control. Two different cases of the expected outdoor air temperature profile and the expected cooling load profile were used to analyze the effectiveness of these algorithms. Simulation results show the energy savings and the satisfactory controls of the ice storage system. Therefore, control algorithms developed for this study may effectively be used for the improved control of the ice storage cooling system.

  • In this paper, we have studied about optimal transmission efficiency characteristics of pulse energy in a coal plant for removing environmental polluted gas. The electrical efficiency of pulse power systems depends on impedance of the reactor. To obtain high efficiency, we used MPC(Magnetic pulse compressor) as the power switch and tested their characteristics as electrode length of the reactor and charging voltage of capacitor, As results, we obtained a compressed pulse such as pulse voltage of 10㎸, rising time 200ns and pulse width of 500ns. With increasing electrode length, the load impedance was decreased but the electrical efficiency was increased.

  • The line charging is becoming larger due to the expansion of underground cable and extra high voltage lines. It causes reactive power surplus at light load condition which may force generators to operate reluctantly in the under excited mode. This paper proposes the pratical criteria and methodolgy for the shunt reactor planning while suppressing generator's under excited operation.

  • This paper deals with the operational characteristics of a low-Tc superconducting power supply. Its characteristics have been analyzed through experiments. In this study, 1.8 mH superconducting magnet load and 50A dc exciter current were used and maximum 300 rpm were used for the experiment. The experimental observations have been compared with the simulation results. Pumping rate proportinally increased due to rotor speed. This reason in according to magnetic saturation of the magnetic material.

  • The regenerating energy of the servo system is mostly consumed as heats through the regenerating resistors. For the response of the servo system to be more improved, the paper proposes the boost inverter using the regenerating energy, The proposed boost inverter has the additional capacitor installed on the DC-link circuit for charging the regenerating energy from the load. To get the better response of the servo system, the charged regenerating energy can be shortly re-applied to the output side as the finite impulse voltage, which can be controlled from information of reference voltages and feedbacked currents. It is verified by PSIM simulator that the response characteristics of the servo system using the proposed boost inventer is improved, comparing to that using the general inverter.
