  • This paper describes the improvement of frequency characteristic of crystal oscillator I.C using Ti-Salicide. The characteristics of transistor(drive current) using Ti-Salicide process are better than Poly-Si process, because the mobility. To know frequency characteristic of oscillator I.C, the simulation is performed using inverter buffer chain of Fan-out 10 TTL. Its result shows at once the generation of normal clock pulse in input signal and the improvement of rising and falling time.

Joint-characteristic Function of the First- and Second-order Polarization-mode-dispersion Vectors in Linearly Birefringent Optical Fibers

  • This paper presents the joint characteristic function of the first- and second-order polarization-modedispersion (PMD) vectors in installed optical fibers that are almost linearly birefringent. The joint characteristic function is a Fourier transform of the joint probability density function of these PMD vectors. We regard the random fiber birefringence components as white Gaussian processes and use a Fokker-Planck method. In the limit of a large transmission distance, our joint characteristic function agrees with the previous joint characteristic function obtained for highly birefringent fibers. However, their differences can be noticeable for practical transmission distances.

  • In this paper, we announce that the strategy of comparing the complex moments of L(1, χu) to that of a random Euler product L(1, 𝕏) is also valid in even characteristic case. We give an asymptotic formulas for the complex moments of L(1, χu) in a large uniform range. We also give Ω-results for the extreme values of L(1, χu).

  • This paper introduces an eigenvalue method of transforming the hyperbolic partial differential equations of a particular unsteady friction water hammer model into characteristic form. This method is based on the solution of the corresponding one-dimensional Riemann problem that transforms hyperbolic quasi-linear equations into ordinary differential equations along the characteristic directions, which in this case arises as the eigenvalues of the system. A mathematical justification and generalization of the eigenvalues method is provided and this approach is compared to the traditional characteristic method.

  • In this paper, a design method of matching layers is presented for the sandwich type broad band underwater acoustic vibrators. The characteristic impedances of matching layers are determined to be matched to the characteristic impedance of head mass material. For the dynamic characteristic analysis of the sandwich type transducers, one dimensional FEM technique is also introduced. A test vibrator with the quarter wave matching layers has been designed to verify the proposed method. And the wide band characteristics of the input impedance and transmitting voltage response (TVR) are investigated.

  • This paper shows two models of the duplex system having a fault tolerant system characteristic used in airplane and railway system. The architecture of these systems is based on Mc68000, and we designed the single system, single duplex system, dual system and dual duplex system to evaluate the system characteristic. We calculate the failure rate of components using MIL-SPEC-2l7F and evaluate the reliability, avaliability, safety and MTTF(Mean Time To Failure) of the designed systems by Markov model. We choose our system depending on the developing system characteristic.

  • 본 연구에서는 포화 점성토지반 침하량의 합리적인 평가를 위한 새로운 개념의 응력경로법 적용방법을 제안하였다. 제안된 적용방법은 특정 점성토지반에 대해 구조물 침하와 관련하여 현장에서 나타날 수 있는 모든 응력변화 조건을 포괄하는 특성변형거동을 실험적으로 선행하여 평가한 다음, 이를 이용하여 일체의 추가적인 시험없이 발생가능한 다양한 현장조건에 대해 손쉽게 침하량을 평가하는 방법이다. 본 연구의 Part I에서는 이러한 새로운 침하량 평가개념의 실용화와 관련하여 포화 점성토지반의 침하관련 특성변형거동을 최소한의 시험만으로 효율적으로 평가하고 이를 바탕으로 임의의 응력변화 조건에 대해 손쉽게 변형거동을 예측하는 구체적인 방법을 개발하였으며, 그 적용성을 실제 사례를 통해 명확히 확인하였다.

  • This paper presents a axial flux permanent magnet synchronous generator(AFPMSG), which is suitable for both vertical-axis and horizontal-axis wind turbine generation system. The design and construction features of the AFPMSG are reviewed. The characteristic analysis is performed such as cogging torque and e.m.f waveform, with the aid of a 3D finite element method. The experimental results confirm the characteristic analysis developed.

  • Using the well-known Fokker-Planck method, this paper presents a standard way to find the joint-characteristic function for the first- and second-order polarization-mode-dispersion vectors originally derived by Foschini and Shepp. Compared with the Foschini and Shepp's approach, the Fokker-Planck approach gives a more accurate and straightforward way to find the joint-characteristic function.

An Experimental Analysis of the Ripple Current Applied Variable Frequency Characteristic in a Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell

  • Differences in the frequency characteristic applied to a ripple current may shorten fuel cell life span and worsen the fuel efficiency. Therefore, this paper presents an experimental analysis of the ripple current applied variable frequency characteristic in a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). This paper provides the first attempt to examine the impact of ripple current through immediate measurements on a single cell test. After cycling for hours at three frequencies, each polarization and impedance curve is obtained and compared with those of a fuel cell. Through experimental results, it can be absolutely concluded that low frequency ripple current leads to long-term degradation of a fuel cell. Three different PEMFC failures such as membrane dehydration, flooding and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning that lead to an increase in the impedance magnitude at low frequencies are simply introduced.
