Terahertz waves are superior to conventional X-ray or Magnetic Resonance Tomography(MRI), and the amount of information that can be transmitted is as large as thousands of times that conventional X-ray or MRI. In addition, Terahertz waves have great performance in analyzing an object which have some layered structure. By using this advantage, we can extract the letters of a page by analyzing information such as absorption amount and reflection amount by irradiating a closed book with pulses of various frequencies within gap of a terahertz wave. However, in the image of each page using the Terahertz wave might be obtained various kinds of noise and the different character occlusion region. So, to extract letters from the terahertz image, we must take the noise and occlusion region away. We have been working to enhancement the image quality in various ways, and keep on studying de-noising processing for enhancement about the image quality and high resolution. Finally, we also keep on studying about OCR(Optical Character Recognition) technology, which based on pattern matching technique, to read letters.

In this paper, a new semi-automated cyber character generating method is presented. Local edge detection tools extract face contour from graphic image files. Some graphic manipulation process detailed touch to obtain neat face contour. This method shortens the making process dramatically while maintaining the good quality similar to real face image. Some of the processed images are illustrated for clear explanation.

Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is believed to be one of the best radiation treatment techniques. IMRT is able to deliver fatal doses of radiation to the tumor region with minimal exposure of critical organs. It is essential to have a comprehensive quality assurance program to assure precision and accuracy in treatment, due to the character of IMRT. We applied quality assurance technique to the Eclipse treatment planning system and sought to determine its effectiveness in patient treatment planning. An acrylic phantom, film, and an ionization chamber were used in this study.

There has been a revolutionary growth and advancement in the area of online game, though the history of online games is shorter than that of the other genre. Among the elements consisting of a game, the character customizing system has advanced poorly when compared with the other elements of a game system. The poor computer graphics technology hindered the emergence of a good quality of a character customizing system. However the need of users for the rich facial expressions together with the rapid advancement of the computer graphic technology have driven the customizing system to provide a high degree of freedom to the extent that items for the face assembly could generate new profits. This paper analyzed the Aion Customizing System based on the art of physiognomy where the facial features of people are studied and analyzed, in order to make various personalized characters to the extent of increased freedom. According to our design, the more sophisticated and complex and subtle character customization system can be devised following the proposed design.

The audience of the performing arts enacted on the stage appreciate acting of the characters in a play to understand its plot, identify with the characters, and comprehend the message and subject matters of the play. Stage make-up in particular should assist audience in comprehending the story without overpowering or distracting the script. Stage make-up is a crucial means to visualize occupation, class, personality, and age of the characters. Thus it is an essential means in producing a high quality performance. The aim of the study is to examine character-emphasis make-up for a play by reviewing theories on the concepts and methods of the stage make-up. The methodology of the study was to analyze character make-up of the adopted play The Madwoman of Chaillot (La Folle de Chaillot) translated from the original French, as a case study. The technique and features of the character make-up of the play were examined, and functions of each factor of the character make-up depending on a role were also examined. The results of the study are as follows. The stage make-up for creating and expressing a distinctive personality of the characters in a play must integrate environmental factors external to a performance such as lighting and scale of a venue. Moreover the stage make-up must adopt and reconstruct internal factors of the play such as interpretation of the original work, subject matters, interpretation of the script, character analysis based on the discussion with a director, and design setting.

We can travel every imaginary world and do every impossible thing via 3D character. People interest in 3D character animation for modeling like real world due to the increase of 3D game and imaginary Virtual Reality on the internet. In this paper, new framework for present of 3D character of high quality is applied. I represent 3-dimensional Humanoid modeling and animation technology and show the adequacy via simulation for various and natural representation certificate using VRML as a Web3D information type and XML.

Interior material covering as the final process of house-building, critically influences not only aesthetic character but also air quality of indoor space. Wall covering today, however, caused a serious social problem because of chemicals contained in the industrial wallpaper and artificial glue. In this context, Korean traditional wall covering of Han-ji can be an alternative model due to it's ecological character. Recently 'Hanok' attracts public attention, since society and people become to appreciate the unique beauty and value of our traditional culture. The values include natural beauty, emotional character, and environment-friendliness. Recognizing this, this paper intended to scrutinize the operating process of Han-ji as an interior finish material. Historical research method was employed, tracing the related articles in old literature and interviewing with the witness of the experienced expert. Thereby, healthier and unique aesthetic indoor environment can be expected to be sustainable along with the rich cultural life of ancestors.

The recent expansion of the digital content market is increasing the technical demand for various facial image transformations within the virtual environment. The recent image translation technology enables changes between various domains. However, current image-to-image translation techniques do not provide stable performance through unsupervised learning, especially for shape learning in the face transition field. This is because the face is a highly sensitive feature, and the quality of the resulting image is significantly affected, especially if the transitions in the eyes, nose, and mouth are not effectively performed. We herein propose a new unsupervised method that can transform an in-wild face image into another face style through radical transformation. Specifically, the proposed method applies two face-specific feature loss functions for a generative adversarial network. The proposed technique shows that stable domain conversion to other domains is possible while maintaining the image characteristics in the eyes, nose, and mouth.
